A value village with the atmosphere of a Walmart - wow! A devil of a trek via transit (skytrain to 22nd street then 410 railway bus then walking into bush and following the blue blip dot on the map). But totally worth it. Inside this Goliath store is a huge selection that goes and goes. Consider it the human equivalent to an anthill. Wow. Once I had what I came for I found 5 cashiers open (yay) and most only a person or two deep. The store recognized cashier decorated with merit pins pitched the free discount member card offering 50% quarterly sales and birthday discounts with just email sign up. Yes please I said once it was my turn. Did you know that said card offers 50% day before, day of, day after your bday? The kind cashier gave me 20% since it's sat and my bday is Monday. You wanna wanna come to this store. You wanna. Yes. You. Wanna. You're welcome. :) The return journey meant walking even further to stop 56911 for the 410 22nd street skytrain station bus but the cashier had offered a faster return to civilization by taking the casino shuttle (if I was prepared to pretend to have just finished gambling - perhaps next time). read more

I loved this branch of VV. Contrary to the other reviews, I found my cashier in particular very polite and downright sweet. It's possible management got the message and had a chat with the staff. I found the prices reasonable - when I say "reasonable" I mean in comparison to other VVs - which tend to be expensive compared to other thrift stores generally. Prices for contemporary clothes at VV are too high no matter which one you go to...but if you're here for other items, you might find a good deal. All departments were well stocked, even the furniture section a little better than the average VV. Books, housewares, children's...all pretty solid! This is a new VV, one in a new building (not a re-purposed store front - I prefer when they use existing buildings) and there is ample parking. Happy Hunting! read more

I have been here a few times, I live very close to the edmonds one but this location is so much better! This location is huge, clean, organized, lots of parking and the I like the quality of the items I find better here. I find the pricing to be standard at all VV locations, not sure that it is more expensive location to location? Yesterday I bought a dress for 6.99 and my husband got a suit jacket for 14.99, I think it's standard to what we usually pay at the coquitlam location. I have only found the staff to be helpful and polite. read more

Drop off at this location is great. The employee at the drop off centre is quick to come and help you unload your car and they give you a coupon for 20% off and a free book up to $5. The cashier, however, was a little frustrating to deal with. We wanted to use our coupon for a free book on a child's book for our toddler that was $1.99. She tried to convince us that we needed to get more books because our coupon was for $5. My husband explained to her more than once that the coupon says it's good for ONE book up to a $5 value. She didn't seem to understand no matter how many times my husband tried to explain. She also told me that next time I use the stuff a bag promo for kid's clothes, that I make sure I close the bag. The bags provided by value village do not close, there's no tie or ziplock. I'm not exactly sure what she meant but she asked me if it was my first time doing it and it wasn't. Overall, clean store. I like this store! very clean and great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you are persistent you can find a good deal here. The prices are out to lunch ive seen items from the dollar store marked with 1.99 price and a dollar store tag still on for 1.25 (LOL) So the only thing I could think that they need to change is there pricing for all the items they get for free anyways! read more

I'm sorry but you have to be really stupid to actually buy something from here. The prices are laughable. $3-$4 for baby sleepers, $2-3 for a well worn onesie, $2 for some old well chewed toy, $20 for a toddler snowsuit and the best one of all $64.99 for a men's wool jacket from the Bay. This is used people, not even sellable at a garage sale used. If you want to save money, or just believe in buying recycled clothing or other things, I highly suggest going to consignment stores, same prices, won't smell or look used and you'll feel better not handing your money over to a big corporation. This is the new, Queensborough Value Village. I found the prices stupidly expensive, WAY higher than other Value Villages! And the very young manager was very rude to a man when we were there...the store is huge, but prices are probably 50% higher than other Value Village stores. I sure won't go back, my 2 friends with me said the same thing. Lots of prices were WAY higher than Walmart which is a 2 minute drive from this Value Village! The bags of house hold stuff were crazy expensive; a bag with a couple of very used spatulas, chipped measuring spoons and a wooden spoon was $10.99! I had high hopes for this location given the size and 'cause it was new. They had a decent selection, however, like the other locations they really need to get their head out of their asses about the pricing. This location is well organized, better than the others mainly 'cause it is new. Customer service was decent. I spent about an hour in there and walked away with some jeans and other apparel. I just finished shopping at this branch of value village. I found it to be wonderful. No second hand store smells, very airy and spacious. The bathroom was spotless and found out it is cleaned once an hour and it shows. I bought a blazer, 3summer tops, pair of shoes and a pair of shorts. This cost me 23 dollars and had I shopped on senior day Tues I would have saved 30%. read more

I really like this particular Value Village. Not only is it walking distance away from my home, but everyone was helpful and friendly and all the departments are well stocked. I tend to come here quite often to grab books. It was an accident, really. I was just looking through what they had, and lo and behold they had a bunch of them I had been looking for at a really good price. Got over 350$ worth of books for 60$. So worth going. read more

Well, I never thought I would write this.... My family went shopping at this location yesterday. My husband found a French coffee press for $8.99. It was stained but he was OK with it considering that we had a stamped card to get 30% off. He put it in the shopping cart that I was pushing with my 3 year old son in it. I then go to the toy section while my husband heads to the shoe section. I was maybe 8 feet from my buggy looking at the toy shelves (if I had my son in the cart closer, he would have been helping himself to toys). I then watch a woman come up to my cart (remember, I am RIGHT there) and she looks right down in my shopping cart scanning all my used goodies. She then looks up at me as I get closer to her while I start pushing my buggy. She casually walks away and starts looking at toys on the racks. I actually thought she was mentally challenged at first cuz there were a few of them in the store hooting and hollering. Next, my family went to the cash register and paid for our items. It wasn't till we got home that we realize the coffee press was gone. It wasn't in any of our bags, nor on the receipt. And we realize that neither of us put the coffee press on the counter as we emptied our buggy. So, someone actually swiped the coffee press right out of our shopping cart. I am quite creeped out that this happened even with my son in the cart! Make sure you guard your shopping carts, kids and purses well in this store!! read more

The people at this store are really rude and irresponsible. They promised me to hold my 7 selected clothes till 9 pm on Monday night (June 2nd). When I finished my work and drove all the way from North Vancouver to New Westminster, there were only 4 items in the bucket, other 3 items were missing. The store stuff wrote the 7 items on the holding slip yesterday by herself. When I questioned her, she said she didn't know. I went to talked to the manager who promised the holdings till 9 pm which was their closing time. But for some reason, he changed my holding time till 5 pm, and said according to our conversation on the phone. I never ever told him I wanted to change the time from 9 pm to 5 pm. I finished my work at 4pm in North Vancouver. In case there was a traffic on the road, there was no reason for me to let him short my holding time. The manager is also very rude. He said that he didn't know where other 3 items were. He wanted ME go back to find again on the racks or they put all the clothes back on the floor. I never had bad experience at other Value Village stores in Vancouver or Richmond. I am very disappointed about their management after I drove a long way to pick up my selected items in New West. Those people don't respect the customers at all. They are not trustable at all! The manager should get fired!!! read more
