Prices are ridiculous. for example a bending picnic chair used in this store is priced $15, same thing new one at wallmart is 11$. very prices and not worth it. go to Goodwill and Thrift in Kent better prices for same or better items. they are milking poor people, please don't donate here! read more

This is supposed to be a thrift shop?!? When the price of USED goods is more than 1/2 the price of new from the shops, where you get customer service, a warranty, and the ability to return goods if you choose to, why would you spend money at Value Village? In the past, things were reasonably priced, but wow, how things have changed! Last week I was in the Waterloo VV, saw a storage container for $3.99, a bit banged up but okay, it's a storage container. In Canadian Tire, new, it is $11.99. So today I was out at that end of town and thought what the heck, I'll go in and pick it up. Today it was $7.99! How did it almost double over the weekend? This is just taking the mickey!! On top of that, I did some research on VV, they are owned by a company named Savers, who in turn are owned by an American corporation named TGP Capital. The name should give it away - "Capital". The top brass at TGP Capital are, of course, Billionaires, filthy rich. Further research led me to learn that VV are tax exempt (same as a charity), which only means that they have to donate 14% of the revenues from clothing sales to get this tax break. All other DONATED items, furniture, jewelry, etc. is sold for massive profit that goes directly into their pocket. Some would argue that they are a for profit, and indeed they are. But then is it morally correct to take the tax relief? I think not. So, sadly, just another corporation spinning the charity mantra to get the tax break and maximize profits. No more donations or shopping there for me. read more

Pricey for a thrift store (but that's very typical of all VV stores). Not as clean as the other Kitchener location, but it's got a good selection of merchandise and you're almost always guaranteed to find a treasure there -- depending on your definition of 'treasure'. read more

Their prices are insane, I saw items in the store that were from Dollarama and they had doubled the price. Lower your mug prices if you expect to sell them. read more

As a customer in your store today I was not impressed with the cashier. I was next in line with an item, she came over, walked in front of me and looked at the lady behind me and said I can help you over here. I said what the hell, looked at her and she knew why I said it as she avoided my eyes right away. I put the item back on the shelf, looked back at her and she was watching me. Next person in line should have been served, She didn't call out just looked around me and told the lady to come to her till. Lucky for me there are lots of stores around here to shop in. Terrible service. I won't be back. read more

Bought a few video games here, they didn't work and I couldn't receive a refund or exchange. I don't know anybody who would want to purchase used games without some sort of guarantee or a return policy. read more
