My boyfriend has been using this service for 15 years. I myself started using it for the past 5 years. I will list the reasons below for the star rating.
1- The 2 men working behind the counter are extremely unfriendly. For example; my boyfriend drops his clothing off and doesn't always have the time to pick it up himself, being he works extremely long hours. Every time I go in they give me an attitude about not always having the pick up slip in hand. (We can use our phone number for pickup!!) They know us for years. I explained the circumstance and he didn't even look at me. He then said he needs it for his records, pointed at the wall where they place them (looks like a punch in clock) and said verbatim "everyone else brings them in" and proceeded to shake his head AGAIN not looking at me.
*To be honest they never ever look at me in the eye. Always looking down. I'm extremely friendly and chipper. I still leave saying "have a great day"! And they either stay silent or mumble.
This made me extremely uncomfortable about going back to pick up my boyfriends clothing which is an issue for him since he can't always get there. You would think they would appreciate us spending over $100 a week there for years. But no.
**They have an extremely old computer and the system in which they run things is very off.
2. Horrible tailor. Please save your time and money and go to a reputable tailor. My favorite discontinued pair of expensive genetic denim jeans ripped in the crotch. This was a clean rip right on the seam. A part of me knew I should have brought them to "Nedys alterations" in Hicksville". My boyfriend dropped them off. There is only one woman that takes care of all the alterations, tailoring and anything that needs fixing. (Only there 4 hours a few times a week). She said no problem easy fix. A week later.....OMG I wanted to cry. Well I actually did cry. They came back with a sky blue patch and an even bigger hole that they shaved to "try and match the fabric". Tell me how can you match sky blue to dark denim !!!!!!! My boyfriend felt so bad telling me he would bring them back. I asked why he would even pay $30!!!! He didn't even look at the jeans because the tailor said "GF will love them". He trusted her. Anyway, he brought them back and complained. They came back the next week with a correct patch looking decent. You could only see imperfections if someone else looks very close. I don't know why she couldn't have done that in the beginning. Well she ruined the seam. A experience Taylor would have sown directly on the seam and put a patch inside so it wouldn't be visible on the outside.
Can you believe they did not discount it !!!! After 15 years of business !!!!
Do yourself a favor. Please never ever bring designer jeans to this establishment. They launder and dry clean my boyfriends dress shirts fine. If you need something easy like that than sure that's fine. But anything you hold dear to your heart or that's ripped or needs tailoring GO ELSEWHERE.
I feel bad for writing the review but it needed to be done. This is not how you do business. And it certainly isn't ok to make your clients uncomfortable and afraid to go pick up clothing without a slip!!!
