The new courts are an improvement to the original courts especially in the lighting for night play. Once you check this part of the park out there is a good chance you'll become hooked on this ever popular sport. Truly multi generational, so great for the whole family. So many other options for you to spend a good chunk of recreation fun time at an unique park. Cheers!

Many kids struggle with staying in the box because they don't trust their skills. Bob's commitment to fundamentals has given my son the confidence to lock in there and compete. The lessons are structured in a manner where the kids go through a progression of drills that focus on coordination, balance and contact, but it's not all work. Bob makes it fun too and that's the reason my son looks forward to his lessons every week. Most importantly as parent I can tell you there hasn't been one time where Bob's attention was diverted from my child during his lesson or he didn't coach with patience and understanding. There are plenty of baseball instructors out there. Many can make your kid a better player, but few will make your kid a better person. Bob is that coach and I recommend him wholeheartedly.

I grew up with this team and fell out in the early 90's after the strike. Many years later I work with a gentleman (Garett A.) who after a year of sharing space and hearing this and that about the Padres...would reignite a long lost passion for baseball, but more importantly my love for my swinging friars. The Padres used to conduct spring training in Yuma, but in 1994, made the switch to Peoria. This has proven to be a good thing for my family, as it just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the bastard step son of a city in the other desert. The family made plans in 2015, to visit Padre spring training. We stayed in Glendale which was a smaller hop, skip, and jump away from the Peoria Sports Complex (See that review). The trip was amazing. How was the trip amazing? Let me tell you..... When you are in a true major league park, it's easy to loose perspective. Ten's of thousands of fans in an enormous space, you can't really relate to the players who seem to be a country mile away from you. The SDPBC at PSC provides an up close environment to connect with these players before the start of the season. Often times they are within arms reach. Maybe there is a chain link fence BUT.....maybe there is not. The intimacy of the surroundings both on the practice fields and at the stadium can't be beat.

It has a neat little playground for your littles, as well as baseball/softball fields, and volleyball and basketball courts. Trash cans and pet waste bags are available on site. First time at a spring training game or ballpark. Signage on the main entrance side could be MUCH…read morebetter so that, at a glance, drivers can know that the parking lots for regular folk is around back off 51st street. Granted, online ballpark info states "use 51st entrance," but when you are driving around trying to figure it out in person, a sign on the actual site site, not website would be helpful. Parking is still $10 (2026). Seats were great from everywhere as far as I could see, even the lawn if you need to be thrifty and save a buck. There's a fan shop for gear and souvenirs, plenty of food vendors and lots of helpful folks to answer questions. It's not like their home Milwaukee stadium but not bad as far as smaller parks go.

Checked this one off my bucket list!…read more So fun to see my Brew Crew play the M's, even though the Brewers lost. Everyone was so friendly! It was a lot of fun to see blue and yellow everywhere. It felt like I was back in Wisco, but without the humidity the Midwest brings. Not a ton of concessions, but I don't usually buy stadium food anyway. The sausage run is one of my favorite traditions, so it was a lot of fun to see them race again!
