I asked for clarification on the total but it was obvious the guy thought I was being rude in some way, when I genuinely didn't know what he was saying or what the total was because we had to converse through a cloudy window. He put the pack I asked for back on the display & then proceeded to do busy work in front of me, so he could successfully ignore me. They remember the little things about me, always ask about my kids, and take the time to talk with me about life whenever I stop in. Whoever decided to throw in a gas station here didn't factor in enough space for people to pull in and pull out. It's seriously stupid how it plays out. You wait in line to get to a pump. And then after you fill up your gas, you will have to either back up and make everyone behind you back up- just to get out. Or what ends up happening, if you try to squeeze through and do some off curb action to make it to the street. It's a terrible location and design. Sure, yeah it is cheap gas. But the headache of dealing with the lack of proper space makes me not want to go back. Then you have the inconsiderate people who don't think about the fact that you can't pull forwards because there's a car in front of you, and you don't have space to pull forward and go by next to them. So, you have to sit there and wait for the special people to get with the program and back their cars up. It's annoying.

Have you ever gotten off the freeway in the middle of nowhere in a desperate search for gas at midnight? Have you ever found yourself with no options but to pull into the station just off the freeway exit, one with dilapidated signs and a seriously dinky "store" in the middle? Seriously, sometimes, late at night, this place looks like a gas station from a horror movie. It makes you kind of afraid to step out of your car. HOWEVER! Step inside to the miniscule convenience "store" and be impressed, not with the stuff that they sell (the snack array is totally lacking), but with the ABSURDLY FRIENDLY employees that work here! No joke, I've never been to a gas station where the employees appear to be so HAPPY. If I were to be cooped up in that dinky hole of a "store" for hours on end, I would NOT be a happy camper. But these people boggle my mind. There is one middle-aged lady with blond hair who is SO DARN CHEERY. She wishes EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER a great day, and keeps up a steady banter. She would make a really cool bartender. She's slow and methodical with counting out change, but I don't feel impatient at all, as I usually find myself too absorbed by her cheerful small talk to notice any slowness. There's also another chick there who's probably in her early twenties. Another really cool gal with an awesome "Hey Neighbor! Long Time No See!" attitude. Me gusta!
