This is a local park in Marble Falls that is just less than a mile from the city center area. On…read moreone side are some residential homes and on the other is the Backbone Creek. It does have one covered picnic area, but there are several picnic tables scattered about the property, several with their own grills. Many of these picnic tables are constructed from limestone and polished pink granite. On the property, sits a dog park, playscape, public bathrooms, basketball court, and even a frisbee golf course. There is also a crushed limestone trail that runs through the park and continues on to Johnson park. It's a nice park for the locals and visitors alike.

This recreational center just recently reopened in 2022 after an extensive remodel. This center is…read moresandwiched between Overton elementary school and Colony Park (see separate review of the park). The center boasts of some very nice amenities such as a workout room, teen room, spacious kitchen, arts and crafts room, and a multipurpose room. This center is open to the general public without fees although you may need to sign a waiver if you use the facilities. On Fridays, they have bingo for seniors, and even a free breakfast. The bathrooms are very clean and modern. They have an indoor basketball court facility, which is very well designed. The elementary school next-door makes good use of this basketball gymnasium area. They even have a covered outdoor basketball court behind the building. They also have an afterschool program for three surrounding schools which involves a hot meal. There is another building next-door, which is another gymnasium with a small kitchen. Behind the smaller building is a wonderfully designed and extensive playground with covered picnic tables, baseball field, and soccer field. It should be pointed out that unlike some other recreational centers, there are no homeless camps within its boundaries. This is definitely one of the nicest recreational centers within the city limits of Austin. Check out the photos below, and read my review of Colony Park, which adds the finishing touches.

After our discussion we selected the perfect size hoop for our driveway without overbearing the curb appeal of the house. His team was out to our home the next business day to install the anchor. Once that had cured, our new hoop was installed. It looks like a professional court in my driveway and as if the concrete base was always there. It blends in perfectly with the driveway. As for the hoop, its fully adjustable, powder coat painted, padded, and totally awesome. The hoop is top quality and looks like it'll last for years to come. The park sits on two or more acres which means it has plenty of green space. Despite all the amenities, some things I did not spot were public bathrooms, covered picnic table area, and a swimming pool, but there is a parking lot. There are some benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the property, found usually under some of the large oak trees. This park is located deep inside of Cottonwood Shoals and butts up against the lake. The one noticeable thing that stands out here is the outdoor gym equipment next to the basketball hoop. There's about a half acre of green space directly behind the park and you can see the lake in the near distance through the trees. This green space seems to be used as an impromptu softball field. It should be noted that there is no boat ramp here, nor any public bathrooms. It does have a small rocky parking lot for about 10 cars.
