But hanging out here waiting for my connection was always a little on the scary side. Getting on bus 22 was an even more special ordeal, considering the characters I met. Most people were just normal folks trying to get to work or the mall or whatever, but the few people who ranted and raved to all of us that the bus looked like Mexico City, or something along those lines, made our trips truly memorable. The area where this center is is not the greatest, the platforms are narrow and lack sufficient protection from the rain, and seating is very limited. The maps and locations of which bus goes there was always very confusing to me, too. I also can't forget the constant delays of buses, which made me late to work many times. If you have the choice, use lightrail or take a different transit center. I grade this one a big fat D.

Now this line has gone down in quality for awhile. From what I remember sooner I had to wait longer for a bus to arrive. The last time I took it was in 2018 after a Yelp event and it was cool to see the bus faster near the 5 roads neighborhood (Senter, Story, White, King and Tully roads). The bus drivers on this route are really outgoing and will talk with you. They are experienced too. If you live in Willow Glen this bus does a good job of connecting you with the rest if San Jose. Warning: be aware of your surroundings because some parts of the line are tough to ride through as well as wait for a bus at.

I am not sure if they just transport Seniors and Special needs persons or what but I do feel they could drive much safer than they do. Our park is 15 mph maximum and I think that is cool for a car but these buses need to be more cautious as the do not react as well as a small car does. The VTA has probably wasted hours of my time at this point. Honestly my biggest gripe is that if there ISN'T a bus, don't report that there is! I've had several occasions where I just call an Uber after half an hour of waiting or just walk for 1-2 hours to get home. I thought the public transit was terrible in my old city, but my experiences with the VTA have taught me that there is ALWAYS a lower low that the VTA strives hard to reach.
