Couple negatives was that there was no air conditioning (at least not that day) I didn't see the whole inside so there may be more i'm not commenting on. The parking is also a little funky and the area around it isn't the most impressive. Still its a solid venue to perform a wedding in. The reception would have to be somewhere else in my opinion.

The head priest greeted me and is very friendly and told me what to do: After removing my shoes and socks, washed my hands and placed a head scarf (available if you did not bring one), you proceed to the main area to pray. No cell phones at that point so I didn't take any pictures. I sat down on the soft carpet and prayed. The Sikh temple is open to everyone, which I love religions who accept anyone so I will pray to whoever will listen to my prayers. Felt really good especially during these trying times. Then he told me to come eat. I was actually surprised because I thought meals were only served on Sundays, which he told me is their liveliest day so come from 11-2. There was Basmati rice, naan bread and a curry of potatoes, onions and peas. I then sat on the floor mat and thoroughly enjoyed my surprise meal peacefully. Chai tea and water is also available and I was able to get seconds too. Always good practice to provide a donation of any kind to pay it forward and for good karma. There is a little donation box near the food and a huge calendar for people to sign up for meal prep. Highly recommend visiting anytime! I parked on the neighboring streets nearby.

Seems like the committee is more focused on the food drive. Which is nice but lines are a few blocks on Fridays so it's difficult to get into parking for the Sikh community to get in and out. Furthermore, the locals mostly all non Sikhs don't get out of their cars and just drive through and are handed containers of food. Nice idea but I feel too caught up with using the funds to feed the non Sikh locals and not doing much for the youth especially the elderly. They were the first to start senior meetings but stopped them due to the seniors telling jokes and not cleaning up such as the plates. At least that's what I was told by a committee member when I asked. So they now meet up in Canoga park where they are not judged. I'm not being negative but hoping to raise awareness to be more open minded to use the funds to better our community esp in mental health and the youth and elderly. The main reason I decided to the post is because the shoes have been an ongoing problem. People tend to take off their shoes near the worship room. But the shoe racks are on the other side so by the time you walk over your feet are dirty. A foot wash might be a good idea or move the rack over. Three times now one of my family member has come home bare footed. When we went back my daughter's shoes were there so I picked them up and put the car. To our shock her shoes went missing again. Apparently this has been an ongoing issue with the Sangat. So many ladies told me it's happened to them and the shoes will be back in a week. People use them to walk to the bathroom or the shoe rack. So we checked all those areas. No shoes! So my daughter came home bare footed again. But what bothered me was a 80+ year old not finding her shoes and walking then leaving bare footed. I know her age bc I know the family. Let's take care of our own community first then go help others. The people drove through and have no idea why they're even receiving the food provided every Friday
