The customer service is outstanding as well. The lady who is in the stockton location has been more then helpful and I appreciate the deal of buying 4 get 1 free or on weekends buy 4 get 2 free. I haven't been able to make it in on the weekends yet because of my work schedule but I think I will try today. I work at 11am but they open at 10am so I'll see if this is doable today probably. One of three locations, this is the second one I have visited and they have a large selection of meals all neatly organized in refrigerators specific for Breakfast / Entree's / Snacks with a microwave and small table to eat there if you wish. The pricing is fair and there are regular deals like buy 4 get 1 free or buy 4 get 2 free on the weekends, all portioned out and labelled clearly with nutritional information. (Bad idea) For starters you receive a confirmation email (good sign). The confirmation email reads: Thank you for your order at Valley Meal Prep. Once your order is ready we will send you a notification email. Almost two days later and numerous calls (poor Louis) and a request for call back. I received this email: Your order from Valley Meal Prep has been fulfilled If you chose delivery then your meals will be delivered to the address specified between 830am and 3pm today. Please have someone home to recieve the meals. If you chose pick-up your order is ready for you. For any assistance call 209-312-9621 Not a call from the manager like I requested. Who is usually home between the hours of 8:30am and 3pm Mon - Fri? I set time aside the day prior for the delivery... so of course that time was wasted. So incredibly disappointed. whats sad is that i absolutely loved the food, but the customer service aspect was really bad. Maybe I just had bad luck. I joined the 40 meals a month for $320 back in October. I got set up on auto pay, and the first 2 months were problem free. Then for whatever reason, one day i logged on to my account and it was simply gone, it said i had no subsciptions and no meals saved. I called and emailed numerous times and asked what could i do to get it back up, and no one ever could get it straightened out. They said it wasnt a payment issue, it was just something weird that had happend in their system. At the end of the day i was told to re-join from scratch , at the new higher rate, and that didnt seem fair to me. Bummer. read more

Great alternative to meal prep. Most of the time I prep my own meals but sometimes I get busy. It's so convenient to run into their location and grab some meals for the week. They have a great variety which is nice and you do not have to pre order. Pre ordering works but I'm kind of a last minute person so it's nice to know I can run in and grab some things without having to plan. The only thing is most of the meals are pretty bland ... which I can see doing that since not everyone has the same taste buds so just prepare to have your own hot sauce or a little seasoning on the side. read more

I ordered 1wk of sig meals and thought they were great so decided to order the 21 meal/wk plan for 4 wks at $575. I placed my order online & paid $575. My meals were ready on time for pickup at the Stockton location-no problem. I'm a planner so I planned all my meals out for the next 4 wks. When I went to pick up wk 1 meals, I brought a printout with Wk 2 orders and also specified that I would like to pick my meals up on the Saturday before my wk 2 started so I could have the meals at the beginning of the wk. Here is where my problems begin. I was told that I was unable to pick my meals up within wk 1, they had to be picked up "in wk 2." Frustrating, but ok. I then asked to have them ready for pick up on Monday of wk 2 and left my order (typed-very easy to read). This is Monday on wk 1. So I leave, happy, with my meals, expecting to come back the following Monday for my wk 2. Fast forward to wk 2. Monday arrives & my order isn't ready, Tues-Wed; NOT READY. Now remember, I left a nicely typed out paper with my order when I picked up Wk 1 meals the previous wk so this clearly is not my fault. I call a manager, Nora, in Modesto. She's apologetic, offers to have my meals delivered on Thursday (no delivery fee and 3 days late). I had to pay for lunch/dinner these three days so I wasn't happy about that. My wk 2 meals arrive & guess what, all wrong. They claim they didn't have an order for me for wk 2 so they gave me the exact order from wk 1 which isn't what I wanted (remember I planned my meals ahead of time). So I call Nora & she apologized & offered me a 5th wk of meals at no charge. Great! The time now comes to order wk 3. I call Modesto directly & order my meals, I let them know about my previous issues and kindly ask that my meals be correct. The order taker said she will make a note of it. The time comes to pick up wk 3. I only have 17 meals instead of 21. So I call Nora & she has 6 meals delivered to me (2 free). I thank her & move along. Wk 4, I call on a Sat & place my order for pick up on Tues. I call Tues to see if it's ready, its not but im told it will be there Wed. I call Wed, still not there. I have had it by this point. Brian in Stockton says that he can't help me anymore because he has already told his manager so if I want to resolve this I need to contact them myself. I decide to call Turlock. I asked for the owner but instead ended up speaking to a manager. I tell her the story, she's apologetic & asks if I want my money back but I told her I would just like my orders fulfilled correctly and timely. We hang up & after speaking to the owner, she informs me that they're making my meals "now" & would have them delivered (free of charge) the following day. She then told me that the owner would be calling me on the following Monday to take my wk 5 order himself to ensure that my order was taken care of correctly. We even set up a time. The next day comes, my meals arrive correctly. Monday comes along for wk 5, no call from the owner, as promised. I call late Monday & place wk 5's order with a manager. I briefly explain what's been going on, practically begging her to please get my order correct this time. She ensures me that as soon as we get off the phone she's placing it in the queue for prep & my meals will be ready for pick up on Wed. Wed. comes and no meals at the Stockton location for me, however, Brian kindly informs me that he will take meals from the refrigerators and fill my order that way.Great! Thank you Brian. I get there though & despite going over my order with him on the phone, my order was still wrong. By now I know better than to leave without checking so we go through it & correct it. He throws in 2 free meals. I thank him & he proceeds to apologize. What I have concluded is that if you are going in and simply purchasing a single meal from the refrigerator, this is probably a great option or even if you're going to order by the week. I would absolutely NOT order a membership (even though the price per meal is less when you do it this way, which is the perk). It's not worth the headache, the stress, the money even because you just have to waste money eating out when you've already spent money on a membership plan. This is supposed to be a way to help people who are too busy to prep their own meals. I will not order from this place again, unfortunately. read more

Interesting concept. Ready-made meals. Just heat and eat. Since I don't cook, this looked attractive so I had to check it out. The Stockton store is located in the Walmart Neighborhood Market shopping center on the corner of March Lane and West Lane. Their building is directly behind what used to be America's Tire and now is Perlu's Auto Repair. A couple of pluses for me. I like to eat so put me in front of a buffet and I will stuff my face. But these are portion controlled meals. I only eat once a day so I had two meals tonight. They totaled less than 1000 calories! So we have portion control, low calories, kind of close to homemade food and probably a lot healthier than fast food. Win win! They have an offer...purchase four meals get the fifth meal free. That looked attractive to me. So I picked out five different entrées. Tonight I tried the stuffed bell pepper with broccoli and the tri-tip with cilantro rice and green beans. Both tasted better than they look in the pictures I posted. Consider that the meals are made in Modesto and trucked to the local location. That puts some wear and tear on the meals so they're not going to look like they were prepared fresh for you 10 minutes ago. The bell-pepper meal was good. Ground turkey was a bit on the dry side and did not have enough flavor so I added some salt. That helped. I would probably purchase this meal again. The tri-tip meal was good. Nice portion of tender tri-tip. Again, not quite as "medium" as it looks in the picture but nevertheless satisfactory. I really did not care for the cilantro rice because I hate cilantro but it was not overwhelming. The green beans were very small and skinny...probably young green beans? By the time you reheat them in the microwave they're pretty tough and I really did not care for them. Today was a holiday. I was surprised they were open. You can walk in and pick out several entrées out of the refrigerator. The choices were a bit on the limited side today. I saw some items that they offer that we're not available. I'm sure I will frequent the store again. I hope to try several of their other dishes and settle on a few that I like. The microwave instructions for the two that I had tonight said to heat the tray for 1 1/2 minutes in 30 seconds increments. They seem to be doing a good business. I heard that they may be opening an outlet in Lodi and maybe even Sacramento in the future. read more

Have been ordering their signature meals online this 2022. Initially, we were delighted with their signature meal selection and some bulk items we can also order. It was a good alternate for frozen meal services. Their location is the same region, so it is good to be a customer of a local company. However, for some reason last 15May2022, our online order was not delivered at all. Typically orders placed online on a weekend gets delivered the next Tuesday. I do not know what happened to them. I sent an email on 17May2022 asking about the status of our order, when will it be delivered...no reply. I also called them and a person named Tiffany said she will refer it the manager so he can call me back. Still..no feedback. So much as I want to give them 5 stars..reducing it to 3 stars. This is in consideration that our previous 8 online orders were being delivered promptly...but this zero reply on my email and phone follow up is simply annoying and ridiculous. Their food is good, but if customer service goes lousy like this, then your customers will turn sour towards them. I think I waited patiently enough for a decent reply, but to no avail. It was indeed a plus factor that they were not charging delivery fee during the ongoing pandemic..and their delivery person has always been cordial and adept in informing us when he will soon be at our doorstep, so delivery goes smooth. But then all that previous good observations will easily be washed out because nobody bothers to respond to a valid follow up on a missing order that has never been delivered. I have email receipt confirmation of my order being placed. For some reason, their website does not show anymore any detail of this order in question. Thankfully, that email receipt contains the order number. So if they are having a bad malfunction in their online ordering system, they should own up to it and properly advise their customers, especially if we have already sent them an email follow up/status request. There was a variety of meals to choose. That was nice to see. The two keto meals I purchased were bland and dry tasting. 2/10 for taste. Keto food is supposed to taste so good, it'll make you feel guilty. Keto is high fat, low carb. There was little fat used in the keto meals. The containers are nice. I kept mine for a couple washes. The store is clean. Customer service was okay but not great. She appeared to be occupied by her phone. I preordered my food online and chose the option to pickup, but little did I know that if I did it this way, I would have to wait 3-5 days to pick up my food, instead of grabbing it from the fridge they had in-store. The customer service rep was unapologetic about my situation. They really should have more information on the website about this. The one non-keto meal I purchased tasted pretty good. I'm on day two of eating my meal prep, everything is pretty good! I'm definitely impressed with the taste and portions. When I picked up my meals, the person that helped me was friendly and welcoming. The only recommendations I have are to check the bags before pickup, mine was leaking and I had to put it in my car that way. I used to rave about VMP until recently. They began offering free delivery during COVID however, you'll get a driver who claims they went to your house (but never did) and unless you want to wait another few days to have it delivered (after already waiting due to another mistake), you have to go pick it up yourself in Modesto (I live in Stockton). So much for practicing safety during the pandemic. Then when you request to speak to a manager, she never calls you. So, you email the owner who tells you that either he or the manager will get back to you. It's been over a week and I'm still waiting. I reluctantly placed another order and surprise, surprise...2 items are missing. The manager (same manager who never returned my call) says I can go pick them up or wait another couple of days for delivery. I told her who I was and she didn't acknowledge any previous issue or anything. Unbelievable. Thankfully I'll be refunded those 2 items, but really?! Horrible customer service!!!!! I will not be ordering again and I'll be telling my friends the same. Oh and I did call. Spoke to Abby AND spoke to her in person when I picked up my meals. She directed to email you since the manager wasn't even responding to her. SMH AND your response Isn't even accurate. I have a Ring video of your driver never even attempting to deliver. This is our 3rd week coming here and we're beyond excited to have found this place. The owner Matt is super nice. The food here is fresh and all the Macros are on point. Just what my husband and I look for in our daily nutritionist goals. If you have Fittness goals and need help meal prepping I suggest checking this place out you won't be disappointed. Cashier (some guy) was rude! I ordered the 21 meal deal online and was sent home with 6 items missing. I called them to let them know the girl who helped me was sweet and said she would get things situated. But never communicated out with me that things indeed did NOT get situated. So I had to call again and ask for my missing meals. She never did anything about it. So I called the following day and got some guy. I can't recall any names. I told him the whole situation he allowed me to come pick out of what they did have but while doing so I told him that 3 of the meals I did receive were bad. The chicken was bitter and sour. The store was spotless and the meals looked amazing. There are so many options of food and programs. I love that you can grab and go and the hours are very convenient. Matt, the owner was great.
