I'm happy to report that she'd be proud of her namesake town, especially Casey's Creamery. From the outside, I initially wondered if it was more of a decorative storefront than a working ice cream shop. The moment I stepped inside, I realized it was the real deal. What makes Casey's Creamery stand out is its small-batch approach to ice cream, with creative flavors that make it worth taking your time to decide. I was also pleasantly surprised to find they serve donut holes--a fun addition that pairs perfectly with a scoop of ice cream. Whether you're making a road trip across Iowa or simply passing through central Iowa, Casey's Creamery is a sweet place to take a break, cool off, and enjoy a treat. It's a charming hometown shop that's well worth the stop.

I had two sorbets - mango and wild berry both were excellent, then had the truly decadent peanut butter party with peanut butter ice cream, swirls of fudge and peanut butter, chocolate peanuts and peanut butter cups, to round this out I got the no sugar strawberry swirl which was excellent - couldn't tell the difference. The strawberry scoop looks a bit small in my photo - it was the last one added and the server was having to work pretty hard to get this more solid flavor out so I had her just give me a small amount since the other scoops were plenty.
