Everything was as expected. Boats and motors were in good condition and the cabins were adequate.

If i could give this place - 10 that would be the rating! This has been the most disappointing and…read moredisgusting and very expensive experience I've ever had for the most outrageous price and worst service EVER! We purchased 2 rooms, one a jacuzzi hot tub room, and one standard room on 6/14/24 - 6/16/24. Totaling about $1800, not including any food or drinks we purchased. The night we checked in seemed OK at first. As the night went on, it just started going downhill. First, they did not have the staff on duty to properly service guests. The staff that was on duty were not timely and very knowledgeable when asked questions about the property and area. The night we checked in, later, after we had settled in and around bedtime, I was preparing to take a jacuzzi, I had filled it up and had just sat down, and I looked back to put my arms up on the side and I found an unusually large amount of pubic hair and soap scum on the ledge of the hot tub (see pictures). I went to the front desk to tell them what I had found and the overnight staff told me that they could give me cleaner and some rags! To my dismay, I was completely disgusted and said I want to file a complaint and I would like a well as deserved to be given a discount of compensated a room and she told me that I would need to talk to the manager in the morning. I obviously returned in the morning and I was told by the manager on duty told me that the night staff offered to clean it and I refused! I replied "no such thing was offered and I was told that she would give me cleaner and rags and to clean it myself" (which of course I most certainly did) and that they could give me bonus points to use at another time! And the food! Terrible! Service! Inexcusable and extremely rude as I was called a B!*$h for asking why our food was taking an hour and 20 mins. I will NEVER EVER recommend this place nor will I EVER stay there! This is bad, bad custmer service, bad management, and plain disgusting. And I'm a Professional Chef who has served customers my entire life! The ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE VIEW!

Whoever designed what appears to be a recent property update has never stayed in a hotel, or…read morethey're completely incompetent. That, combined with uncaring management, has taken "hospitality" to a point where we won't be coming back. 1. The room price was different for each of the two weekdays we were there. The clerk stumbled and fumbled a response, suggesting that it was a Booking.com issue. 2. The shampoo bottle holder was broken. The bottle was resting on a corner of the bathtub. When we removed it, what appeared to be mold was on the bathtub where the bottle had been placed. It had to be there for quite a while for that to occur. 3. There is no counter space in the bathroom to place toiletries. 4. A grab bar was located behind the toilet, positioned under a glass shelf. Still struggling to understand how someone needing to grab onto the bar would be able to do so. 5. The toilet did not appear secured to the floor. 6. The shower head was too high on the wall, making it difficult to reach, and it was not possible to adjust the head. 7. Tacky, handwritten notes indicated that several juice dispensers in the eating area were out of order. 8. The desk lamp had no shade. 9. The TV was maladjusted; the picture quality was horrible.

General: Stayed here in May 2024 for a work conference…read more Location - Great spot a short walk from Detroit Lake and right off the highway. You have a Casey's Gas Station (great pizza) right next door and town is just a couple miles down the road. Rooms & Building - Hotel is standard to other Country Inns I have stayed at. Neutral wood tones with moderately comfy furniture and grounds. My room was in decent order. Lots of places to charge my electronics and a very comfy bed. Microwave and small fridge included. Amenities - There is a nice pool, sauna, and hot tub setup on one end of the building. There is also a fire pit table outside on a small patio attached to the pool area. The lobby sitting room is pretty nice and a comfy place to read a book or take a break. Free coffee is available during the day and cookies at night (if you can snag one before they are gone). Food - There is a free breakfast buffet offered at this location. The breakfast layout is your standard waffle bar layout. Hot options include eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat, sausage gravy, and waffles. Continental options are available too such as yogurt, cereal, breakfast breads, fruit, etc. Vibe - Lots of rules with fines at this location. No early check-in or check-out unless you are willing to pay extra. Staff were not very present, seemed to be away from the front desk a lot but they were nice enough when I met them. I chalk up the lack of staffing issue with the issues related with hiring enough people in the area. Reality vs. Online - Online pictures that I saw on their website matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms. I did not witness any of the damaged property photos that some reviewers have posted. Hotel shows minor issues of wear but that is to be expected. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $120 for a room per night. Not a bad option when staying in the area. This location can be considered one of the middle of the road picks for Detroit Lakes.
