There is a fairly large convenience mart at this one. This station, like other Speedways locally, is now listing 2 different fuel prices, depending on whether or not you have obtained a Speedway charge card (which I'm not using). I think that required them to change either their credit card/chip readers, or the software supporting them, and it's not working well. Whenever I've purchased gas at any station - including this one - offering that discount, my "other" credit card is not read the first time, and about half the time on subsequent attempts. It usually takes me about 3 tries at any given pump to get the credit card recognized.

It's the best gas station in the history of gas stations. It's like a freaking palace of petroleum. It's so clean, they have a roller grill with the most amazing food ever I don't know what they are called but those rolly things are so good. They have jalapeño cream cheese ones, and taco queso ones, and they're so good! And guess what? You can pay for them with your credit card. That's right, this Speedway accepts credit cards as well as cash for everything. Even scratch off tickets. You can buy a scratch off ticket with your credit card, and win a million dollars, and then buy more Rolley things. It's fantastic . They have everything you need. And the gas is so cheap I think it's the best deal in town. This Speedway is the best thing that ever happened to me. I would give it six stars if I could.

There was only one employee working - with two registers open and two lines. I've never seen this before. The employee was working both registers at the same time. While one person's credit card was processing, he'd check out a customer at the other register. Because of this, the lines moved insanely fast. I also ordered pizza, which he had to get from behind the counter, and it didn't slow down the line at all. I was highly impressed by this. The selection of fresh food, pastries and snacks seemed much better than most other Stewart's Shops that I've been to. The counters were clean, everything was organized and had its place, and even the floors were freshly mopped (on a day when snow was melting and everything outside was muddy). The employees here were friendly and seemed happy to be there.

I never did, but I happened…read moreto hear about Stewart's Shops when researching what to do in Vermont, so I figured we had to try one out. I gather they began in Saratoga Springs, NY, and moved into Vermont, as well. We tried this one across the street from the Saratoga Springs Hilton where we stayed, and it was very clean inside (according to my husband who went inside). I had also read they have terrific ice cream, so guess what, we tried some. I stupidly left it up to my husband to "surprise me," and while they are known for amazing flavor choices, and thinking he KNOWS how I like unusual and interesting flavors, he walks out with a mix of vanilla and chocolate. Are you kidding me? It was especially difficult for me to keep my mouth shut because I was pissed off, but he was kind enough to get it for me and bring it out, so I could just wait in the car. I have to say, though, I quickly went from anger at the boring ice cream flavors to extreme enjoyment because it was some of the BEST vanilla and chocolate ice cream I had ever eaten. Truly delicious. I was definitely thinking we'd get some different flavors at other Stewart's Shops in the ensuing days of our travels, but as many as we ended up seeing along our way, we never did stop at any. Don't know why, but we didn't, and so, this was our only time to enjoy their wonderful ice cream !! Next time we are in the area of a Stewart's Shop, I will make sure we can get more ice cream. Of all the Stewarts in downtown Saratoga, this is my favorite. It's bigger inside, which makes more…read moreroom for additional shelving of junk food. The ceilings are high and the parking lot is shaded, giving it an oddly stately ambience. And it's less crowded so more chance to grab a seat when I come in for my deli dogs. (though there's also less seating... minus one star for that.) If you're in town for a convention, go across the street and savor a scoop of local history. Stewart's headquarters is nearby in Greenfield, and the Dake family is a big supporter of local groups and activities.

But if you are in the Ticonderoga area and you need to buy enough gas to get you to Vermont to save $.30 a gallon. Then stop at Maplefields, yeah the prices are the same as every other gas station in town but the restrooms are clean, they have spacious seating, free Wi-Fi and an in store Amato's for food. You also have access at a small fee these days to showers if you are on a long haul trucking assignment. As gas stations go this is a very very nice one.
