It's practically the Wild West and I love it. Anything and everything can happen. Stopping here before work to fill up is simultaneously the best and worst moment of my weekday mornings. Gas has been $2.89 here for months on end, definitely the best deal in the city if you don't lose your mind trying to get to a pump. They're often broken, people abandon their cars at the pumps while they buy cigs and play scratch offs, you WILL get cut off in line if you aren't willing to circle like a vulture. Any successful trip here feels like a huge success if you can make it out alive. Additionally, the Dunkin Donuts will always get your order wrong unless you order through the app. I have had a 100% success rate when using the app with the occasional bonus of a "thanks hun" when I say I have a mobile order.

I go in to wait in the always long line, buy a carton of cigarettes, a pack of cigarettes for my mother (who "quit" smoking lol) and pre pay for 30 dollars of gas. I even tell the lady there is one car ahead of me still so they know. The people in front of me are finishing up and rushing to get out of there as soon as I make my way out of the far end of the store (the front door is broken btw). I pull up, get out, hit the unleaded and....NOTHING. I wait, I hit the help button, I wait some more and...NOTHING. So I go back in and before I can even tell them the full problem, they tell me that they mixed up the pumps and put it on 4 instead of 14, easy fix. I go out start to fill my tank and it stops at 15...not 30. So I go back in and try to explain what happened and I'm basically called a liar. It takes me a minute to realize the girl who originally helped me isn't there and I tell them to get her and she will tell them what I got. They are practically ignoring me at this point so I say ok I'll go out and get my receipt to show them. Go out, look in the bag, no receipt...great. I go back in with my cigarettes and no receipt but ask them to look for my purchase. Should be pretty easy to find a recent transaction with one carton, 1 pack and 30 dollars worth of gas. They can't find it. Finally the only helpful and kind person in there, who seemed to have some sort of leadership, decides to go find the the girl who originally helped me (my first idea). As she spends ten minutes in the back looking for her, I notice a receipt with 6 dollars sitting on top of it, on the register I originally went to. I then remember the amount of pumped gas from the people before me was 24 dollars. I put 2 and 2 together and realize the people who were originally in front of me stole my gas. Seconds later the helpful girl comes back and has figured out the same thing. She tells me they'll credit the gas I'm owed. I hand her back the 6 dollars so I can have the full 30 and head back out. I start to pump my gas and IT STOPS AT 6 DOLLARS. At this point I've spent over and hour there and Im already late coming back from my lunch break so I just have to leave. Very frustrated and aggravated. Safe to say I won't be coming back. I put up with the 5 dollars more a carton and the long lines for the convenience of how close it is. From now on I'll just go back to making the long trek to one of the actual reservations on the weekends.

I took the picture above on the way back to my house from the Templeton Landing Yelp event. I was running low on gas and close to running out, so I was taking pictures for Yelp of anything that didn't have pictures and that I'd used or shopped at or visited recently. So I took a pic of this gas station and then kept on driving looking for more stuff to photograph. I took a picture... of a gas station... when I was almost out of gas... and didn't get gas... and then ran out of gas in a part of town you're not supposed to run out of gas in, about 5 minutes later. Brilliant work, Fox. Brilliant. But it's not Sunrise's fault. They are cute and different and locally owned and not a chain, so I can't give less than 3. But their gas isn't cheap and neither are the items in the store, so I can't give more than 3. Now the sun is about to set on this review.

Walk in - liquor is all behind a shield you can't really browse. No problem, I get it. Guy behind counter was laying on a couch reading his phone and wouldn't get up. Really! Called and someone else came around. $31.99 for 750ml Tito's or $49.99 for Grey Goose. Left and went to another liquor store a little further out and paid normal prices. I know taxes in NY State are high on alcohol but they are very close to my home state of CT. I pay same or less at home for 1.75l - more than double the vodka for same or less price . AND they have a cashier at the register not sleeping on a couch behind the counter.

The basic wash uses a neoprene brush, that and along with their recycled water that is full of abrasive elements after washing multiple cars all day, has left scratches along both sides of my brand new 2026 vehicle. Delta Sonic's area manager Dave was very rude accused me of lying about the damages and the brush causing the damages. He refused to look up camera footage from February, March and April to prove that yes they did use those blue round neoprene brushes on my vehicle even though that was not in my plan. He reprimanded me for having less than 7,000 miles on my vehicle and told me that is a lot of miles for a new vehicle and that is where my scratches came from. I told him I live in the country and work in Buffalo so yes I have miles from driving back and forth to work every day and that would not cause parallel buff lines with scratches that trail along both sides of my vehicle. The only thing my vehicle was squeezed through since I got it was those blue neoprene brushes that should've never been used in the first place because I wasn't supposed to be getting a basic wash. I paid for a super kiss plus plan. So therefore not only did they damage my car they were charging me for a super kiss plus plan and only giving me a basic wash all winter.

Walk in here any time of day, and you will see that the clientele of this gas station and minimart runs the gamut. Around noontime on a weekday, ladies and gentlemen in scrubs to or from Roswell queue up behind crackheads, suits, food-stamp wielders one step from impoverishment, teenagers on the lam, hipsters, and raving maniacs. So long as the money keeps coming, it doesn't matter if the purchase is gas, scratch offs, beer, limes, capicola... Wait, what? A gas station sells vegetables, pastries, and deli meats? This one does. Like Allentown's own composition, the array of items available is baffling, often beyond logic. While microbrews and chips can be found in abundance, in a variety of different sizes and shapes, no large boxes of cookies can be found. Cottage cheese is available, as are Gramma Mora's tacos and fresh produce, and I always wonder on seeing them who is actually purchasing them. (It turns out that I am in fact a cottage cheese fiend.) But for this convenience, for this variety of products, prices oftentimes trend towards the absurd. You won't find candy for less than $1.19 each, even though they'll sell at Tops on Niagara Street for nearly half that. Packs of 12 Oreos sell for 50 cents less than a full package would at the nearby PriceRite. Meanwhile, you can find coldcuts for less than $3 a pound and Al Cohen's brand bakery rolls and rye bread at prices cheaper than the same TOPS. What the heck is up with this place? As a consistent visitor, I find Allentown Trading Company's bizarre prices and weird selection as frustrating as I find the rest of the neighborhood. As someone perhaps stopping in on their way downtown in the morning, I suppose it would blend in with everything else. NB: Their coffee is NOT good, but it is cheap. Buy six cups, proffer a punch card, and you'll find that your seventh is free.
