Let me tell y'all something. I love this gas station. I pump diesel gas so it requires me to go inside to "prepay". He always allows me fill up then pay instead of annoyingly guessing how much it'll cost. I appreciate the old school trust. Also, the diesel gas here is usually a little cheaper than surrounding gas stations. Besides the outstanding friendly customer service there isn't really anything unique, but it's pleasant for mundane task of pumping gas. They have a nice selection of ice cream and beer, so no complaints. read more

Valero - Parking Lot - Gas Stations Near Me - Decatur, Georgia

Pros: This Valero is pretty convenient (it's somewhat of a gas station desert this part of town), and the fuel prices are in line with the area. Cons: There are only six pumps. The layout is cramped so be careful maneuvering around in your vehicle. The actual store looked mini, but I didn't go in. Heard the lady working was unnecessarily rude though. Two of the pumps aren't covered which made me feel sorry for the fella who was filling up his Beetle in the unyielding rain. The pump my car was at didn't have a working credit card reader, grumble. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think this Valero is open 24 hours. Verdict: I'll try to stick to QTs. read more

Stopped here late one night for gas and can't say that it's the best location for a gas station. Just off of Howard and somewhat off of College with lots of cross traffic. Despite getting into the actual small lot of the gas station being difficult, maneuvering in front of of a pump is another difficult task at hand. If you're in one of the spots closest to the building, and there is a larger vehicle in front of you or behind you, you'll have a tough time getting out. It's a super small gas station in general, so making this a quick process can be difficult. It's a bit wonky to get into this gas station and also a bit difficult to get out of as well. Traffic can be whizzing by or at a standstill going from Howard to College. The sight lines are also pretty difficult looking west on Howard to see oncoming traffic. Just be careful if you're headed away from Decatur. Pulling onto Howard towards Decatur isn't as difficult. Again, its just a gas station. The gas is fine and so is every other part of the service, but the location is just a bit difficult to understand. There are a few other locations to get gas in Decatur or down off of College that would be easier to maneuver. read more

If you are in Downtown Decatur and need gas, you do not have a lot of options. Other than a long trip to Moreland Avenue (or perhaps on Commerce towards Emory), Kirkwood or further out towards Avondale Estates on College, there are no other options. Since this gas station is right along Dekalb, it's perfect for heading into Decatur. Well, maybe perfect is too strong. It's got a decent location. However, there are some logistical issues, even if your goal is to use your credit/debit card and not go in. The PATH crosses the sidewalk of the property. So you'll have to take care that you'll not hit any runners/bicyclists when entering or leaving. Plus, the side entrance (towards the railroad tracks and Atlanta Avenue) is hard to access from Dekalb and is difficult to access because of the railroad tracks. The inside is very small and I can't say that I've had a reason to go inside often. That said, it's small inside -- maybe two small aisles, which really leaves it up to get gas. I can't say that this a great location for safety, but it's not unsafe either. There are folks coming to buy beer as opposed to gas, but that's not been a problem at all. So if you need gas, and need it when you see this station, this place fits the bill. read more

This is probably my least favorite gas station in the world. It's awkwardly wedged between College Ave, the railroad tracks, and Howard Ave. People are always parking on the sidewalk, which is not only illegal but also means pedestrians can't walk by safely and drivers can't see whether cars are coming. Pulling in or out is always a nightmare, and there is not enough room to maneuver your car to turn around. Also, at least one of the pumps or credit card machines is always broken. Despite all of these things, it's the closest gas station to my house, so I come here probably once a month. Also, it has a Nintendo controller painted on the back of the building. Two stars for convenience and 90's-themed art. read more

NEVER GET GAS HERE. I am enraged. I was just there. I pumped gas. I paid for gas. I have a receipt for the gas. No gas was actually dispensed into my car! I went right back to the attendant and told him. He said there was nothing he could do. Would not refund. Would not come to my car to confirm the lack of gas. So, I was ripped off. I told him i'd be all over the internet calling for a boycott! So, here I am. If you don't like getting nothing for something, avoid this place and their incompetent jerk employees. Tried to​ charge me $11.99 for the last jug of windshield washer fluid in the store, which had no price tag. When I tried to explain to the clerk, who did not look like she knew anything about cars, that this was not motor oil or antifreeze/engine coolant and it should only cost three or four bucks at most even with a hefty price mark up, she said $10, take it or leave it.
