I've been here quite a lot when I've been home to see my oldies as they're Pizza Express Club Members (woop!), and get offers and deals and special birthday meals and we cash in on them all a fair bit - you make your money back quickly with it too. The restuarant's just at the bottom of Steep Hill, and the layout is cosy, with a split level area as you go in, and a cosy waiting bit with armchairs and books and stuff. Forget Dominos, this is the best pizza in town!…read more Using fresh dough made on site each day and their own recipe tomato base, owner Omid and his guys have a good set menu but will put together just about any kind of pizza you want. I like mine meaty and spicy but my wife prefers a plain Margerita, so we usually get a 14" half-and-half. Spicy beef, garlic mayo and coleslaw are also made on site to their own recipe. Omid has his own special Mamma Mia sauce, which complements the pizza very well. Chef Romio also has a few tricks of his own and I regularly have a Romio special (not on the menu!) which does me for a meal before work with the rest going to work with me for lunch at 5am (I work nights). They also do kebabs and burgers, to the same high standard, so they pretty much cover all of the fast-food groups. The shop is open-plan so you can see exactly what's going on as your food is prepared, and it doesn't take very long to go through the oven so you can have a great pizza from order to presentation inside 10 minutes. Delivery is free in a 3-mile radius and there's a small charge for deliveries further afield, and so far all of my delivered pizzas have been piping hot on arrival. Those guys certainly earn their tips! Current special offer is any 14" pizza for £8 if you collect it, saving a couple of quid there as well.

Customer service is very poor…read more You call to complain when 1, they forgot part of your order and 2, accuse you of lying when you call to complain that a slice of your pizza was missing - which it was. Not only that, they blacklisted me because apparently I was lying, when I was not, and told me never to bother with their custom again! Well they certainly won't be from me or any of my friends. What an appalling customer service they provide. Anyone else had same trouble?

I had a calzone pizza for main course, if you don't know what it is it is: a pizza folded once in half with the filling inside with a rich tomato sauce on the top served with some rocket. once again amazing! there are three different choices of fillings for the calzone there is: Mozzarella and Tomato, Bolognaise and Mozzarella, Chicken And Parma Ham. to be honest the chicken and parma ham is the best of the three. Are are many different dishes like pasta, chicken, risotto etc.... Great service and friendly staff not a long wait to order or receive the food and drink. Toilets nice and mostly spacious.

As you enter the restaurant it is hard to not be impressed with the classy decoration of the restaurant. The restaurant never seems to be busy and lacks atmosphere. Although the food is good, it is not exceptional. So I would conclude that the food does not necessarily match the prices charged. The staff were extremely polite and the service was second to none, but I would prefer to try the alternative Italian restaurant up the hill.

As you would expect with the name, they have a truly excellent beers on tap. I'm not usually a beer drinker, but I would happily get a belly on what they've got. These guys know their stuff, and are smiley, and charming to boot. Interesting interior design, with little quirks, linking together the pizza oven, and the giant, shiny brew tanks (yuss, full on trendy hipster micro brewery coming along here) Definitely worth a visit, whether you want a meal, or just a couple of drinks, paying into the pockets of some properly lovely owners.
