I am the furthest from a vegetarian that you could get (I had ribs for lunch today,) so I was pretty skeptical about how a veggie burger would taste...my skepticism was unfounded because I have to admit it was a pretty good burger. I ordered an original Big Burger meal with no mustard and soy bacon. I thought blasphemy, bacon cannot be soy...but I was the blasphemous one for doubting the Lord (of the Fries.) For the fries I had the original fries (chunky + sweet potato available,) ordered Belgian mayo and Vietnamese mayo (spicy chili) on the side. The Belgian mayo was alright, but the Vietnamese mayo was bomb.com. The fries are double cooked and definitely some of the better fries I've had in Sydney...my favourite fries have been from Ogalo's, but Lord of the Fries gives it a run for its money...I will need to do some more taste testing with their other sauces. If you've been to America, I'd say that Lord of the Fries reminds me of a vegetarian Five Guys since the fries are very similar in taste and quality (minus Cajun fries) and they both offer burgers and hot dogs. The nostalgia may have influenced my review a bit...so take that into consideration. If you don't want to wait in a queue for a super long time, go in the arvo or after their official launch on Aug. 29th. Praise the Lord (of the Fries!!!) ***Update: I went again to try their hot dogs and ordered the Chicago dog. If you're a fan of hot dogs and a carnivore I would skip the hot dog and get the burger, it tastes bland and it's a bit "off," most likely missing the meat taste. If you're a vegetarian and really want a hot dog then order to your hearts content.

The only place I seen open for business near my hotel was McDonald's. I don't necessarily eat McDonald's when in Sydney, but when the sun is coming up soon, you really have no other choice. Thankfully, it was a walk up restaurant and didn't operate a drive-thru window as most fast food restaurants back home would only operate drive-thru style. Ordered a whole meal and an apple pie for dessert. I was hoping to see something unique about McDonald's in Australia, but the menu seemed similar to ours back home in the U.S. But once I opened up my Big Mac, inside of the box read 100% Angus Beef! All the corporate people came in smiling in our faces, acting like everything was fine while knowing what was really going on behind the scenes. Meanwhile employees were the ones dealing with the stress, confusion, and constant disorganization every single shift. People rearranged their schedules, missed time with family, and depended on these jobs just to be tossed aside in one conversation. What makes it even worse is how many people they constantly hired just to turn around and fire them days, weeks, or months later. Some people left other jobs for this place thinking they had stability, just to get completely blindsided. I honestly feel bad for everybody affected because for a lot of people, this was their only source of income. It also always felt like they only wanted Hispanic workers there so the restaurant could look more "authentic" for the image they were trying to sell, which honestly makes this whole situation feel even worse now. Then they send out fake "if you need anything contact us" messages like they actually cared about the people who kept that place running. And the fact this fake "Mexican" restaurant couldn't even show basic respect to its workers on the way out says everything. Would not recommend eating here in Australia or Japan.

For the rice ball, I selected purple rice, seaweed, corn, roast pork, vege shrimp and bamboo shoots. Purple rice is nice. Seaweed absolutely goes very well with rice ball since it's a bit similar to sushi (the different is you can you your toppings and it's a bigger portion). Only the bamboo shoots cannot go along with the rice ball. I may come back for other combination. I got tuna corn mayo, bacon & egg, vege shrimp for RiceTriangle. They are not really special.
