The restaurants are very good, including The One, where we feasted on freshly grilled, turbot, had delicious sushi on the rooftop, and Espresso martinis well at the Azul Blue bar. The hotel is located right on the ocean, with the seven Valley trail passing by that can take you to Benigel Caves. We opted to be picked up from the hotel with a stand up paddle boarding adventure into four different caves, including Benigel. We also enjoyed walking into town, a nice massage at their lovely spa and lounging by the pool. Oh, and one more thing - make sure to add the breakfast, the breakfast buffet is amazing, with an omelette bar, waffle bar, fresh, squeezed, orange juice a great spread of meats, cheeses, and pastries. You won't be disappointed!

The bathroom was super small and since the shower door doesn't extend all the way, it was constantly flooded. We had the dinner buffet while we were here and the food here was extremely subpar. It was also very expensive compared to just walking around town (which is safe and nice) to one of the local restaurants. That being said, we also got the included breakfast and the food was very good there, though the same every day. Another nice touch to the breakfast though was that cava / prosecco was included in the breakfast. The pool area was nice, but we were unable to get a seat and therefore unable to use the pool. Another nice touch was that it was connected to a cool hiking path. To get to the beach was maybe a 10 minute walk. It was a similar walk to get to town. Overall, I feel like the room situation was not good enough that I would ever consider returning to this hotel.

The highlight was dining at Michelin-stared Ocean. However, the other on-site restaurants are wonderful as well. Vila Vita is a true resort in that you don't really need to leave the premises during your stay. Not only do they have a variety of high end dining options (make reservations in advance!) but they have three pools, a private beach, a mini golf course, tennis, a spa and more. One of the coolest things about staying at Vila Vita is it never felt crowded. In fact, we assumed it wasn't a busy season for the resort, just due to a lack of guests walking around but the staff informed us they were at 95% capacity! Point being, it feels exclusive and there are never crowds. There are paths to walk the grounds and explore. During an exploration we discovered Vila Vita employs Vito, a hawk, who patrols the premises to keep seagulls and other birds from annoying guests and stealing food. Beach access is also very cool, it's a steep, adventurous climb down but once you arrive at the secluded beach area, the views and experience are worth the trip.

The grounds are perfectly maintained, hilly, and sprawling with multiple pools and ocean vistas - each with their own vibe (family, adults, etc.) - restaurants, and scenic walks, including along the oceanside cliffs. Service was spectacular: exceedingly professional and attentive, but also friendly and caring - and patient for a group with 7 adults and 4 kids. Facilities are plentiful, from tennis to golf to the pools to a kids camp to bars to the beach (with its chilly, but rejuvenating May surf). If you have an opportunity to visit, please do so as you won't regret it!

The main building dates to 1918 and according to the staff was the first hotel on the beach. Surrounded on all sides by ugly aging high rises, this spot is literally an oasis with soaring views, a beautiful pool and a private walk down to the expansive golden beach. For beauty alone it almost merits 5 stars. B cause of the elegance and stature, I find I hold these types of places to a VERY HIGH standard. In addition to the historic building there are 24 rooms in a much newer wing just to the west and below and in back of the pool. Our room was 202 on the lower level and had a partial view of the ocean. What I liked: -whimsical nautical color scheme in the comfy modern room that was up to date in every way from power outlets to fixtures -outstanding service culture and helpful young man, Goncealo Rico who checked us in and showed us around and helped us out during our stay-even arranged to go up to the secret rooftop for a peak-great view -sumptuous breakfast buffet with all the typical European items and eggs cooked to order -views from the nice pool-the hotel is right in the center above the beach on a tall cliff -beach access from the hotel is very easy and the spa provides you with a beach bag to use during your visit with towels and water. -immaculate grounds and facilities-rooms very clean as well. -nice quiet A/C- got room nice and cool for sleeping What surprised/disappointed me given the caliber (and price) of the property and the newness of our room: -size of the shower-while the bath is a reasonable size despite a modest room size, the narrow tub/shower with half wall of glass just isn't my favorite making it not only tricky to get clean but also hard to keep from splashing water all over the bathroom floor-unfortunately these are common throughout Europe -not a fan of the €4 potato chips and €10 bottles of designer water-so many high-end places have eliminated these silly expenses-wish they would too. Despite my small annoyances this is a first class property with a strong service culture and a great staff. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We're booked to stay here all week but looking to leave immediately based on the poor level of hospitality. It's kind of absurd to pay so much and be treated so outwardly rude.
