it's a shame to call this hotel a five star resort…read more This hotel exists for 45 years, maybe this is the reason why the rooms are quite small, but at least renovated not long ago, which is good. If you get a room facing the street, you have the experience of staying very close to and hearing the N125, the major street in the Algarve after the motor way. But the service is the worst I ever experienced in a so called 5 star resort. the waiters during breakfast have been rude and unfriendly, we had to listen to a lot of discussions all around us e.g. if a couple could get a second cup of tea, while the first was still full, ashtrays were never emptied, plates never cleared from the table. all in all we felt like disturbing the waiters whenever they have not been on their private cell phones talking loudly in Portuges. Room service was not better: When we came back from the golf course usually at 3 pm mostly the room was still not done. After a very long day on the golf course we decided to use a voucher for dinner at the hotel which we got for early booking. What a mistake! We experienced the me mexican buffet. Half of the dining room was already ready for breakfast the very next morning which was communicated to a group of four persons very angrily by shouting from one of the waiters, the food was cold and not tasty at all. Again we felt most un-welcomed by the staff and left as soon as possible. The only friendly person was the guest relations manager where we had to queue to report our disappointment. We haven't been the only one. They do have a very nice golf course, therefore they get two stars. If it would be only the hotel, the minimum of one start would still be to much!
