Low-key spot off of Dino Drive in Elk Grove. Stopped in to recycle a large quantity of cans, and glass and plastic bottles. Just to get a fee dollars back, vs paying for it all to be taken away by the city each week. Wasn't sure what to expect, but saw a number of other people dropping out their slown stuff as well. So it seemed like a pretty popular location to bring recyclables. We were in an out in less than 20 minutes with a few $ back in our pockets. read more

Much better prices and service elsewhere. I question their weights. Went to two places on the same day. A massive portion went here, over 20 trash cans full, took the remainder of 6 trash cans to Galt and was paid almost half of what they paid me. read more

I've been to a number of recycling facilities over the years and Valdez Recycling continues to stand out among the best. Parking is typically pretty easy to find unless they're crazy slammed. They're always well organized and staffed. They have plenty of cans to sort your goods and a large trash can to throw away your dirty bags. They even sell beverages for a very reasonable price. They cash you out on site so you don't have to go inside a grocery store or hope they have enough to pay you. I'll definitely be back when the need arises. I drive across town since they're consistently the best run facility in town. read more

Been coming here for years. I appreciate that they are now open on Sundays. The lady at the register is always pleasant.

It's been a while since my first review. Still come here often. I pick up recycling on my walks in my neighborhood. Staff is friendly and quick. I always give the staff a tip with my earnings. Karma points! read more

Valdez Recycling - $32 for my efforts. Don't forget to tip the staff. - Recycling Center Near Me - Elk Grove, California

I always bring my recycling here because the staff is friendly, the site is clean and organized, and Roberto is incredibly helpful. Plus, their rates are very fair. read more

Very nice place they pretty much take everything and pay well Was recommended by another recycler to drop of copper and that's how I found out abt this place read more

i've been going for four years to this place, but I will go never again so I was unloading cans and plastic back of my truck and they were taking plastic cans filled up with my aluminum cans and plastic bottles. I had six bins full of smashed aluminum cans. It was over 100 and when they took in and waited without they said 98 pounds minus beans so on the end it's only 59 pounds only one bag 59 pounds and I had four bags and they are cheating. Their scale is off for 8 pounds. I will look where can I report them they will pay for cheating. That's a felony bad bad recycling center. And when I called him the phone they said they pay for aluminum cans 175 so they paid me already $1.60. read more

This place is a rip off. Not fair at all. Every time I been there giving benefit of the doubt but I'm done. And when I pointed out where I know they are ripping me off at all the boy could say is that's what it weighed on the scale knowing that's a lie!! If I had my way I wouldnt even click on a star but I had to to post this review. read more

I prefer driving past all of my neighborhood recycling centers to patronize this one...one my few visits, they appear organized and courteous. They have bins and carts to accommodate a lot of plastics and there's a covered area which makes standing outside bearable on the warmer days. I like this place. read more

I have been going to Valdez Recycling and they have been top notch. It's been a family outing each time as my kids would separate plastic, bottle and the kids got to spend their money after they split the money they earned. This location in Elk Grove has always been real fast. Appreciate you and many years experience. read more

By far the best place to take your recycles. Good payout and fast service. Would recommend

I definitely feel ripped off. I had 3 bins of aluminum cans (39.25 lbs), 4 bins of plastic bottles (37 lbs), and 2 half bins of glass (~80 lbs) and only for $57. But when I go to one of those recycling centers out of a shipping container in a parking lot, I usually get a minimum of $70 with at least one less bin of recycle (like 1-2 bins of can and like 4 bins of plastic). The tiny sign driving into the parking lot said )$1.85/lb. Idk what that applies to because according to my math, I got about $0.35/lb. They don't give you a receipt with the breakdown of recycle material by weight and the corresponding dollar amount, like I would normally get from other places. I find that to be shady. If they were more transparent I don't think I would be as disgruntled.. Not to mention how out of the way this place is. I only came here because my dad picked it and the places nearby our house weren't open. But, on the bright side, I did like that they had plenty of trash bins and those flat carts to put them on so you don't have to wait for other people to finish. They are kinda slow though. read more

I take my cans and plastic bottles to Valdez Recycling every few months, including today. I noticed that for big plastic bottles that if person takes off the labels, Valdez Recycling will not consider them as junk. Take the extra effort to remove the label or labels. They will rip you off. It's not worth it. They don't separate the plastics in the bottles in the recycling correctly

Valdez recycling is fair and top price and fair and clean and the staff really helps you get situated. I used to take my business to Ming's recycling however I have found a hidden gem in Valdez and I live in Elk Grove and that saves me time and it's conveniently located close to the freeway and very clean establishment so if you have recycling to get done head to Valdez Recycling where they treat you fair and get you in and out quickly. read more

First time here since our regular place went out of business. Fast and friendly! Off Grantline Road.

This is the only place I will bring my recyclables. Reason being: the little spots by grocery stores are always so extremely busy and have horrible operating hours. Valdez seems to have pretty normal operating hours, the staff is usually very friendly and helpful, and even on a Saturday I can get in and out fairly quickly even if busy. The site is pretty dirty, but it's a recycling center so it is to be expected. I used to bring cardboard here just to get rid of (not expecting a pay out for it), but they apparently don't take it anymore. The employee that helped me was nice enough to take it anyway, but just an fyi if you're trying to get rid of cardboard. Way better than the annoying storage container recycle places...just saying. read more

I come here here a lot. Most of the time I am in and out with cash in my pocket. They are gas. I sit for an hour or longer in one of those grocery recycling places. Even if it is a little let cash the speedy service is well worth it. read more

I wouldn't ever take my recycles to another place when this recycle center rocks. First of all, I have many injuries including titanium in several places of my bones. I can park directly next to where the garbage cans are and when the guys see me, they always come over to help me unload all my stuff. The guy who works in the booth always remembers me even though I'm not in there but a few times a year. I like the facilities, including the ease of the loading right at the bay with plenty of garbage cans. They also don't give you a ton of crap when a wine bottle ( how did THAT get there??) sneaks in or there are caps on the plastic bottles ( I swear it's so hard to remember). Overall for a chore I consider a necessary, yet a pain in the buttocks, they make it run smoothly. read more

I've been going here regularly for almost two years now and thought I'd give a little insight to those looking to go. I've only ever seen them collect plastic bottles, aluminum cans, or glass bottles. I don't know why their description says scrap metals and plastics. Plastic bottles - they will toss it if there is ANYTHING in it so make sure everything is empty. Aluminum cans - they barely check these and I don't even think they really care if they are clean even. Glass bottles - honestly don't even try. They are really picky about glass and it has to have a very specific symbol labeled for them to take it. Wine bottles and Coca Cola like bottles are typically ok but unless you have half a bin they get an attitude when you bring them in. read more

I honestly do not know what all the negative reviews on here are about! My partner and I have come here dozens of times and we have always been treated with kindness and a smile. They pay very fair rates for the area, plus take non CRV plastic (milk jugs, creamer containers etc) and never have all that long of a wait to get cans (max 10-15 min on a busy day). Yes, its a nitty gritty recycling center. Yes, you have to sort your types (aluminum, glass, plastic, etc). Yes, sometimes there is a wait and the lot is full. But YES they pay well. YES they pay cash. So what is there to complain about? If you want somewhere that pays more and someone sorts it for you, I have a hint for you... OPEN ONE IT DOESNT EXIST!! Stop complaining! read more

First time here since replanet closed. So much faster! I was in and out with my cans/bottles in 20 minutes. They are trustworthy and gave me $35 cash for my recyclables. read more

I very disappointed, I took 9 very large trash bags full of plastic bottles, plastic, glass and aluminum cans, more than I have ever taken to recycle. I was told it was $24.50 I was shocked, I said something to the guy and he said it was right! I know it should have been more than that as I have had less in Lodi and received this amount! Will never go there again!! read more

Awesome and friendly place to recycle. The employees are nice too. Very convenient because it's close by. You also get a decent amount money back for what you brought in. read more

Employee with bad attitude which is okay, but for 10.3 pounds of water bottle,I got 5.75 dollars. Maybe few bottle used to mix drinks , others all clean n clear. Don't know how they calculate that amount for me. Will not come back. "Currently, state certified recycling centers pay a minimum of $1.60 CRV for aluminum cans; $1.28 CRV for clear PET plastic bottles; $0.58 CRV for HDPE plastic bottles (similar to the large water jugs); and $0.10 CRV for glass bottles. These CRV per pound rates are periodically adjusted, with new rates taking effect January 1 and July 1. In addition to the CRV, recyclers may also pay a scrap value, which may also fluctuate." read more

Fast and friendly service! Get a fair price when you recycle at Valdez recycling center.

So this was my first experience with this recycler as I had gone to the one in Wilton for years. Being skeptical of a new place, I sorted and pre-weighed everything I brought in today. For what I had weighed out at 39 lbs of aluminum cans they said it was 38 lbs and for my plastic bottles I had 31.7 lbs and they weighed it at 33 lbs. That is completely good in my book. When I got there they were very helpful and actually did all the work of placing my plastic bottles in a container for me. I will definitely be returning in the future. read more
