My wife and I stopped off here at Vail mountain today 8.11.2025 to purchase our 7th consecutive year of Military epic season passes. We also learned that these passes are good during the summer which I had never known previously. So we took the gondola up the mountain and hiked the meadow loop which was a pleasant two mile easy/leisurely hike. The hike was very enjoyable we may have seen a total of 5 people the entire time. And we encountered some gorgeous scenery from high alpine meadows with tons of alpine wildflowers, stunning views of the mountains, and the trail meandered through the forest. The air was crisp and refreshing and I enjoyed the beautiful chirps of the mountain song birds as well as the lovely sounds of the crickets. This hike really made my day! This hike was a nice reset!! For my 1000th review, I'll review where I spend most of my winter weekends-Beaver Creek. It appears this business listing is a mixture of reviews for the corporation, Vail Ski Resort, and Beaver Creek. (FYI people, the corporation is in Broomfield CO and Vail Ski Resort is in, you know, Vail.) Anyhoo, my family and I have made great memories skiing at Beaver Creek. The ski lessons have been great, especially BEAVO for my kid. The walking pathways have always been free of snow, the people who volunteer or work here have always been friendly. Even in tough conditions, it has been a good time. The surrounding businesses gave the place a small town feel. Good options, but not overwhelming. Parking in a garage can be expensive but they had a good options with the $10 Bear Lot and Elk Lot. Close to I-70 freeway so we haven't had to drive miles on snowpacked roads. Beaver Creek has been worth the extra drive. read more

Bought a $451 pass, after i hit confirm payment i was charged nearly $800 for an entirely different pass. Customer service said they would fix it. They ended up cancelling my pass entirely and issuing a full refund instead just refunding the difference. I noticed this a few months later and they refused to honor the price i paid back in May or credit my account the difference after an hour on the phone. This organization is an oligopoly run by crooks. read more

I've never experienced customer service (or the lack thereof) like this, even with the telephone companies!! I have been a season pass holder for several year. Over the past couple years haven't used it at all. Last year they offered an 80% credit to those who weren't able to use their passes due to COVID. When I contacted Vail (I think early October) they said I had missed the cutoff by a couple weeks. I have waited online for hours on end, eventually being disconnected from chat once they closed for the day. I have sent email requests with no response. I have waited on the phone for hours as well. The last few attempts I was told a supervisor would reply to me within 72 hours. No such luck. I am really disappointed. I thought Vail Resorts was a first class brand. It looks like others have similar complaints. How can they not care about their online reputation? I don't get it. read more

July 19, 2020: Apparently someone is asleep at the wheel at Beaver Creek Resorts. We made the mistake of paying $44 each to put our lives in grave danger because the summer lift operators are so poorly trained. Not one person informed us or assisted us (4 people on a 6 chair lift) on how to lower the safety bar to keep us from falling from the chairlift. It takes 2 or 3 people to pull the safety bar in place but since there was no instruction and ZERO assistance from the lift operators we were left dangling all the way to the top of the mountain. It was absolutely INEXCUSABLE that this happened to us. No matter what was written in their liability waiver, I would have sued the crap out of them for negligent lift operations! Everyone operating the lift that day should be fired, especially the Manager. read more

The lift operators weren't paying attention and someone who fell in front of a chair was dragged forward by the chair for at least 5 seconds while everyone in line was yelling to the operators to stop the chair. 2. The ski schools have gotten really big and sometimes would have 10-14 kids in one group. It was dangerous and annoying to ski around them in the narrow run (Gitaround) that was the only Green option back to the village read more

I had a ski pass just auto-renew, so I called Vail to cancel the pass. They gave me the number for a "third-party company" that handles their refund process. Now I was on hold for 72 minutes to discuss a refund. When they finally picked up, they said they needed to transfer me to customer service as that was the department which handles refunds. It was the original person I spoke with, who gave me the same number again saying that's the only way to get a refund. Now, I'm going to do the same thing I previously did, and expect a completely different result (the definition of insanity). It's obvious that Vail set up this process to avoid refunding their customers money as there's not a way to make this more difficult. While on hold, I did the chatbot thing on their website and it was honestly hilarious. They must have removed the term refund from the AI base in the bot as it kept saying that "the request is not understood" each time I typed the word "refund". Now that I've logged on, I can't say I've ever been on a review site with entirely 1 star reviews. Wonder if anyone is paying attention? It takes a special management team to so consistently tick off the public. read more

Easily the worst run company in Colorado. I'm not even sure how they managed to stay in business this long. Last winter, they kicked all their employees out of their employee housing with only a couple days notice, in the middle of a pandemic, with borders closed and many of them not being able to fly back to their home countries. They pay their employees peanuts, but then overcharge their customers for thinks like ski lessons. They force the concierges in the hotels they own to call a car service they own first, knowing that there is about a 50% markup compared to other transportation in town. Basically, if there is a way to screw up in business, or do something less than ethical in business, Fail Resorts will find a way to do it. I love the town of Vail, but if Vail Resorts went out of business tomorrow, It'd be fine with me. read more

I have an Epic pass through Vail Resorts and am having a few issues with it--no big deal, just need to talk to someone and get it sorted out. Wrong! When you try and contact them, they have no email address on their Epic Pass website, the CLAIM to have a Live Chat--which they don't, and when you try calling their customer service number, there is a recorded message that says "we are experience a high call volume--please call back later" and the. It automatically disconnects you from the phone call. It is almost criminal to have taken so much money and then have absolutely no way of contacting them. Just ridiculous. read more

DO NOT enroll in Vail's auto renew season pass program - their system is fraudulent and will force you into paying $800+ (even after you attempt to cancel your pass PRIOR to any agreement or down payment). I'd attempted to cancel my season pass prior to this year's $49 downpayment. They charged my card anyway. I immediately called Vail customer service asking for a refund. They denied the refund. It took a new CEO to change things for the better at Vail Resorts. I have to hand it to Kirsten Lynch. She stood up to the board and demanded that employees are compensated fairly. 20 dollars an hour plus a long list of other benefits is generous. Someone with a high school education can make 40 plus grand a year from the onset. That's impressive. And thanks for adding the new Sun Down Express lift in the Back Bowls. As far as I can tell, it's doing an outstanding job keeping the lift lines (if any at all) very short on a big powder day. Lastly, please stay the course in your battle to build on the East Vail parcel. We are all eagerly awaiting the outcome. Congratulations on affecting positive change at your resorts. Vail? Do you need another glowing review? Apparently Yelp thinks I should contribute to the discussion... I was surprised at how vast the resort was, yet after leaving the car, it didn't seem huge and overwhelming. The ski shops, restaurants, and other businesses scattered throughout Vail Village created a small town vibe. I was loving the place and I didn't have my skis on. Among the Frontside, Back Bowls, and Blue Sky Basin there are numerous runs to enjoy. Think about the snow/sun conditions for the past day or so to choose the best of the best conditions. Apres ski enjoy a relaxing (read exhaustive) transition time in one of the many lodges. This place is expensive, but worth every peso. read more

I bought a three day Epic Pass for 12-28-20 thru 12-30-20 for 6 people. We were booked to ski at Heavenly Valley. California went in lockdown and restricted our ability to travel there and ski. Epic refuses to refund our money. Their claim company is based out of Carlsbad, California which is odd because the claim adjudicator can open a paper and see the state is in lockdown. They basically are holding our money hostage to earn interest so they gain larger profits is my only assumption. I wouldn't recommend them getting any business from anybody read more

Best Powder Ever. I haven't been in a few seasons, but I remember a ski trip there with a bunch of people from college, and it was some of the best powder I've ever ridden. Infact, it was so much powder, I honestly could not tell if I was riding or floating. The facilities were great, the atmosphere was perfect, the amenities were awesome, and the views were SPECTACULAR. Epic Pass Vail resorts is probably one of the worse websites I have used that is for such a giant company with Ski resorts country wide. Sure you can buy a pass that you are unsure what benefits are included and then they try to rope you into auto renew. So, buddy passed, Ski With a Friend, even just 20% off, doesn't work. Try to get a pass with rentals for a friend and you have to go to their main site for passes and the resort site for the rentals. Then you cannot put your 20% towards buying for friends in rentals. So my daughter buying for her brother doesn't get the 20%... really? And try calling Epic customer service, you get India and no understanding of the problem a transfer to "rentals" that ended up being customer survey and hang up, another call to another Indian CSR and then..."they will escalate it!" Calling the resort, on hold for hours but at least talked to a real person AT THE RESORT! And found out that you don't get 20% off on buying you friends on a buddy pass their rentals. They are firing all the old employees and buying all the ski resorts in America so... another f*ing monopoly. They treat their employees like crap and oversell their passes with no customer support. They don't have a good web FAQ and don't tell with honesty what things are going to cost. Very shady practices. N.E. Value Pass holder! read more

For a destination ski trip, Vail offers something for the whole family and all abilities. It'll be a repeat destination for sure. Major drawback is the expense of everything - nothing comes cheap in Vail. We flew into Eagle County Airport last time up and found it would have been just as easy or easier to fly into Denver. You really don't save a lot of time and shuttles from the Eagle County Airport are ridiculously expensive for distance traveled compared to Denver shuttles. read more

Best resort ever. This place is HUGE. I'm from california and I thought their sister resort Heavenly was big, but this place is so large that it took me a week before I did the same trail twice. Very nice mix of trails and OMG the backbowls are amazing. You are missing out if you don't do the back bowls. The people here are nice, top notch service. The instructors are very good at what they do. Lift tickets are a bit pricey, but if you got a Heavenly Season pass, it works out good on your end. read more

I had been a pass holder since 2007 during the 2020 season I got Covid and was hospitalize. I had to be on oxygen for two months and it was advised by my doctor to stay away from high altitudes until my lungs cleared. I thought no problem Vail resorts said I was good with there insurance. My granddaughter was also a season pass holder and she couldn't go because I couldn't go. Anyway I submitted the paperwork in December to get my pass insurance, emailed in January February and Marc. I asked repeatedly if there were any more information they needed and they denied my claim in April no call just a letter that said denied. I attempted to refill and even emailed all the letters from my doctors etc.... No response so so long Vail and I would advise anyone thinking about going to there resorts to think twice! I hope this doesn't happen to you or your family members. Vail got a lot of my family's money over the years and didn't care if they took more for no service rendered! read more

Very unhappy our Epic pass was not honored at the Golden Peak chair 6 on 12/17 for the Kombi race hosted by Ski and Snowboard Club Vail! We were forced to purchase $50 racer tickets for the event. If lift access cannot be guaranteed by the resort, the race should have been cancelled. Asking season pass holders to pay an additional fee is ridiculous! read more

Vail use to be considered one of the best ski slopes in the US but no more. Recently Vail has decided to stop grooming the slopes because of 1 minor incident after 50 years of grooming the slopes. It becomes so choppy that skiing becomes outright dangerous and just not fun at all. I hope the Vail management will wake up and start grooming the slopes like they should. It is far more dangerous to have neglected slopes than to have a snow cat on the mountain. Thanks. read more

This is one of the great ski resorts in the USA. The place has a lot of lift capacity and a diversity of trails, including many difficult (steep, bumpy, or both) ones. The back bowls with fresh snow are nearly unbeatable as a place to ski. Plus, there are too many, incredible food options for every price range. If you have any energy at the end of the day, take the main chair up to the top for some tubing. One good and bad point is that it's a pretty easy drive from Denver. Good, because flying into Denver is cheap (like a lot cheaper than Aspen). Bad, because an easy drive makes it a magnet for all the cities, like Denver, to the east, so they get a few more people and possibly longer lift lines. read more

Last year I was able to ride the bus to the gondola. This year with budget cuts they stopped the transportation unfortunately if I knew I would have not naught the pass. Talked to dispatchers down by stateline had attitude and because he didn't know. Called transportation told they would send a bus, impossible to get a hold of again. I've waited more that.4 hrs. I just spent my Thanksgiving in Vail, and it's the worst vacation I have ever had. The snow condition was so terrible, and there was only one trail opening, and they still fully charged on that. We were staying in Marriott Vail, it was only 5 min walk away from the resort. The stuffs told me it was so icy, and if I am a beginer I should go to Breaver Creek that about 20 mins drive away, where is the only place I can use my ticket. I followed their suggestion. However, there were only two trails opening in BC. What's more, the snow in BC was as terrible as Vail. They didn't groom the snow and claimed that was "groomed". Me and my friend fell so many times and didn't have any fun at all. The very next day, we went to Keystone after asking our hotel. I was told by the manager of the hotel that we can use the same ticket that we purchased for Vail! BTW, Keystone was so much better than Vail and Beaver Creek. If you are planning go there, don't go to Vail or Beaver Creak. Keystone is the best option for you. read more

Bought their season pass in August. They never sent it to me, then in November when I asked for a refund they told me I could have simply driven hundreds of miles and had it printed out at Keystone, even though A-Basin had been open prior to Keystone, so I would have had to go out of my and hope that it would actually get printed in order to start using the pass when I should have been able to. Of course they don't give refunds, even on products they never delivered. Guess Vail Resorts are too cool for school and don't function by any of the standard practicing of the rest of commerce in the US which assumes you get a product after you pay for the product or you get your money back. read more

Amazing experience! Great runs with balance of difficulty levels. People made the difference. Had some personal difficultly doing a next level run when one of the employees, Bob Sherrill, spotted me and helped out. Showed some ski skills to help get through the run. He was extremely patient and made a huge difference in my experience at Vail. Highly recommend it! read more

DO NOT PUT MONEY DOWN FOR A PASS IN ADVANCE!!!! YOU CANNOT CANCEL. They want all your money and won't go out of their way whatsoever in terms of customer service. Whatever you do, DO NOT put money down a year in advanced for a season pass, they poorly advertise it as a way to guarantee the cheapest price, but it is actually a binding contract that they will use against you no matter what your circumstances are. Even if you are certain that you will ski there the following year, don't risk it, I've watched their prices enough to tell you that you will get the same price if you just wait to buy the pass in the fall. I expected to lose the $50 I put down, but they are still charging me the remaining balance for goods that I haven't even received yet! I have called multiple times and they won't do a thing. Vail has beautiful vistas, awesome back bowls, acres and acres of waist deep fluffy snow...by far one of the best resorts to carve at. Variety of runs at different ability levels and different lengths and spread out so you aren't crammed onto the same side of the mountain with a thousand other people. A lot easier to get away from the crowds when there are crowds. I went on a Saturday the week the mountain was swathed in 4 feet of fresh snow and waited in close to zero lines. Only complaint is there is no night skiing. Yes, it is expensive here but what resort is not anymore? Plus, if you have a pass at any of the Vail resorts (Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Heavenly), you can ride for 3 days for free at Vail. It is included in your pass. And *bonus* they are a green resort. For sure fly into Denver to get better deals and then just bear the 2 hour drive. As for lodging, you can stay in any of the surrounding towns, even in Keystone and then night ski there before you retire for the night. Why not just ski Keystone?
