How am I the first to review this place!? I've been using TravelPlex since it was Majestic Travel back in 2004/2005! The store was located close to "home" and I fell in love with one of the travel agents, Carrie Willard. Carrie is highly knowledgeable in all facets of travel, including up & coming hot spots, secret tips within the industry, and safety regulations to ALL places I've considered over the years. Still to this day, I reach out to Carrie when in need of travel advice. She is ultimately the first "vendor" I established a long-life loyalty with at the ripe age of 17. Still to this day, now at 27 years old, I trust her whole-heartedly... even if I can't book every trip I inquire about! Honestly people, if you're looking for natural efficiency & effort in planning all your travel needs, look no further! And this goes for out of towners too! This is the most painful review I have ever had to write as this business was recommended by a friend so I feel bad, but this is a well deserved review. All you need to know, if you don't want all the details, is that despite our issues and our real-time feedback, the company did nothing to make things right. Not a bottle of wine sent to our room, tickets to a resort event, a mariachi band, or even a piece of chocolate sent to the room with a card saying "We are sorry". That is the type of people we are dealing with here. If you feel like hearing the details, here they are: I wanted to take my family (wife, two children between 10-14) to a warm weather destination for the winter holidays. I was sent several options, but we narrowed it down to Moon Palace in Cancun. Brenda recommended the Grand. She explained that the Grand had a waterpark and in order to use the facilities at the Grand, you would have to pay $200/person per day to go to the Grand if you were staying at one of the other hotels at Moon Palace. A water park?!?? My kids will be in heaven!! Where do I sign? I committed to a LOT of money for a 7 night vacation. A LOT. but that was OK, since the thought of having some quiet time with my wife while my kids ran off to the water park sometimes sounded like a well-balanced experience. Then, around the summer, I began to do some of my own on-line research. This waterpark wasn't even fully built yet! I called Brenda. She assured me that she had colleagues who had visited. Just a couple of slides were not functional yet, but they would certainly be working by the time we went. I continued to read reviews. These reviews were on trip advisor during the busy months of July, August. Peak times. Lots of complaints about the non-functioning water parks, but also complaints about not being able to eat at the restaurants in the hotel. Two hour wait times! It sounded like the Hunger Games to me. This did not sound like the way that I wanted to spend my vacation. This did not sound relaxing at all. I spoke to Brenda. She stated she just had another colleague return from there. All was great! She contacted the resort. All was great! I asked her, "please, let's get as many dinner reservations as we can. Let's avoid the craziness". No can do. This is where some of the blame falls on me. It just didn't feel right. I should have bailed right there. But my friend recommended Brenda, so I stuck with her. It was November when I found out that the waterpark was closed indefinitely. That was horrible news. I overpaid for a non-existent water park. I was a bit bummed, but I arrived with my family to the airport with a somewhat positive attitude. When we woke up at 4am to make our 6am flight, I was very upset to learn that the prepaid baggage that I had arranged with Brenda had not been prepaid, according to the airline. I immediately e-mailed Brenda only to find out that her automated e-mail response informed me that she would be out of the office for the remainder of our trip. When we arrived at the hotel, I then was informed that the $3,000 in resort credit I was promised by Brenda was only $1,500. I again e-mailed the company. I finally received a call from April, who was unaware of any of this (I don't blame her. She unfortunately was thrown into this). I asked her to have John call me (the owner?). He finally called me at the end of the day. He asked me for pictures of the closed-down waterpark (as if I were not truthful?). Upon arriving at our room, I called to make dinner reservations at the three restaurants here that required them only to find that the only reservations left during our entire trip were ones that no one wanted (late dates, inconvenient times). On day 3 of our trip, we went to Chichen Itza and got back at 7pm. The kids were exhausted and very hungry. We went to the restaurants in the hotel lobby and (guess what?) found out that it would be a 2 hour wait. I spoke to one of the staff at the hotel, explained everything to her and after BEGGING, she was able to find us a table at a restaurant that required a 10 minute walk (we were very thankful). Brenda finally fixed the resort credit issues, but I had to go to the lobby (which was far away from our room) to "activate them". It was clear to everyone involved that I was pissed off. The comical part of all of this is when I received an obviously automated, thoughtless, as little effort as you could possibly put in, pre-composed e-mail from Brenda a couple of days into the trip stating that she was "thinking of us" and was "hoping were were having a good time" on our trip. This added insult to injury as they all knew that we were unhappy. That was the last I heard from ANYONE. Bottom line, if your trip goes flawless, good for you. If there are any issues with your trip, GOOD LUCK. You are essentially on you own. The already have THEIR money. read more

Brenda helped us put together a great birthday trip and getaway in Sept to Mexico. Our original plan fell through as our hotel was hit by a tropical storm and she was quick to help us get a new hotel booked and ended up upgrading us too! Highly recommend TravelPlex. I worked with April Windmann and she was superb. Last year I booked a trip to Mexico through her. She answered the 1000 questions I had and always got back to me right away. Right before we were set to go we had a family medical emergency and couldn't go, fortunately we had the insurance. I called April and she took care of cancelling all the travel plans. That was such a huge relief. This year we booked through April and TravelPlex and got to Mexico finally. The vacation was perfect.
