Unfortunately I had to cancel because my wife was having surgery two days prior to boarding. Everything was paid for Airfare , Cruise , Drink Package , Excursions , Insurance and Fine dining were all purchased. Your rep told me to handle the airfare and she would handle everything else. The Airfare was credited and I was issues a voucher for future flights. Aon which handles the insurance for Carnival was a nightmare. I sent doctor forms. They sent me forms to have doctor fill out and when all said an done the said they would issue me 100% for the Cruise fee minus the insurance. This is not a problem. Now all the extra stuff was Carnivals job to refund me and Lisa said she would handle this......and she didn't she just took their word! Carnival gave me a few refunds but not everything. I emailed Lisa a copy of my bank statements. This show's what was taken out and what was credited. Now Minus the cost of the insurance ( how can AON deduct insurance and Carnival as well blows my mind) and I am still out of pocket almost 600.00. I explained this to Lisa and she said " Carnival said they refunded you everything ". I know what they said but the proof is in the numbers , I needed a rep to fight for me and not settle for just what CARNIVALS says. My wife and I cruise twice a year so we are not a huge account but we are loyal and would not think of going to a different agency ..until after this nightmare. So disappointed, because I told Lisa the same thing I will never book again , not surprised, don't think she even cared, because AGAIN she didn't even fight to keep us.

Mallory and Allison were helpful in getting us last minute reservations to Palo so my husband and I could have an adults only meal while the family watched our kids. Mallory even informed us that when we book a placeholder cruise while on the board we can save 10% on a future cruise! I cannot wait to book more cruises and vacations with them. I am giving this museum 5 stars for the sheer history it discusses and the part of history that a…read morelot of people don't fully understand or know about --- the reality of free people of color during the times of slavery. As a lighter-complexioned woman of African and European descent, I often wonder what my life would have been like if I had grown up during slavery. Would I have worked inside the plantation house? Would my curly hair have made it impossible for me to pass, or would I have been able to pass as people would assume I was "Spanish," as they called Latinos way back then? While a lot of people say what they would and would not have done during the times of slavery, I am aware of the horrors of that time enough to know that when one is focused on sheer survival, they may do things like "pass", if it meant freedom from back breaking grueling work, harsh outside conditions under the hot sun, being beaten and/or assaulted in all manner of ways, etc. I do not blame those who engaged in passing for white or another ethnicity back then. The times were so brutal and harsh. I love my African heritage, and this museum is so rich and full of tradition and history, and the strength of overcoming the odds. While it is not a very large museum, it contains some valuable information within its walls. I definitely recommend this museum for my fellow biracial people and those whose families may have been very diverse over the generations.

Our volunteer tour guide fabulously navigated us through the French Quarter, and despite the rain, shared great info on the particulars of Creole cottages and other structures. The guided tour was about 1.5 hours and ended at Antoine's for brunch. Brunch for the tour was in one of the back rooms at a community table for about 16 people. In short, we were away from the live music, it was a fixed menu for everyone, and (get this!!!) coffee was not offered. At BRUNCH, really??? Quite unbelievable, but yes, we requested it twice (before the meal) and the server never brought it, even when dessert was served. Would have gladly purchased it at their cash bar had it been available. We left Antoine's early in search of a great cup of coffee which we found at Brennen's, yay! French-pressed, it was awesome. Aside from this, the food at Antoine's was very good - I'll do a separate Yelp review on the food. Fortunately our Spring Fiesta day ended on a high note with the Home and Courtyard tour of five homes. Though self-guided, the tour was well-organized; a few of the owners were at home to host the tour. Again, we learned fascinating tidbits about each of the homes. Bottom line, if I had to do this over again, I would have purchased the tours alacarte, and would have made my own reservations at Antoine's, apart from the Spring Fiesta, for 1) a table in one of the front rooms with live music; 2) the opportunity to choose from a menu; and 3) a better chance at a cup of coffee to accompany our brunch, lol. Being from Phoenix we have a small historic heritage and very much love old homes. We thought the courtyards were amazing and beautiful. We learned a few things and visited one home of a realtor that had an amazing balcony and so many windows and natural light in the main living area we totally got the whole city living idea. We only got to see 5 homes on the self guided tour and many of the homes had the upstairs blocked off , or more than half of the properties living quarters closed to the tour. I can understand that, I had a home on tour in Phoenix and its ALOT of work to clean and put away valuable and have your home staffed. The other disappointing factor was how little period character the interior of the homes still had intact. The crown moldings were all there and detailed doors, but we were just expecting more of this historic tour. The city has done a great job enforcing the exteriors to remain period, but interiors of the homes have been altered so much much of the character and charm is long gone.I know its not a museum but a home. Thank you homeowners for allowing us into your abodes. We see how you bring the outside courtyards as an extension to your living area. I know this is alot of work for everyone that participated and I understand its hard to get homeowners to participate. Many thanks Spring Fiesta
