I chose this location specifically for the proximity to the MAI-KAI Restaurant and Polynesian Show,…read morewhich was a 12-minutes drive away, as the MAI-KAI was on my bucket list (coming from Hawaii, that's pretty funny). PARKING: included, which is another reason I chose this place. No problems finding parking space. We only gave them our license number and didn't need a pass during our stay. SERVICE: efficient enough, and passable. We had to wait past check in time to get our room, which wasn't ready yet, but it wasn't more than 30 minutes. ROOM: A double queen room cost $524.94 for two-night's stay booked directly through IGH. Room was very clean (except for the dirty, grimy windows, but not here for the view of the parking lot). Loved the choice of pillows of soft and firm (also very clean - do the sniff test); softer bed if that's to your liking, nice large bathroom with soft backlights, AC worked well, microwave and fridge, safe. It was quiet, but we also beat Spring Break in Florida by one week, so not a lot of traffic. We also took advantage of the microwave and fridge in the room on the second night and had a cheap dinner date from ready-made and heat-and-eat foods from the nearby Publix for convenience. BREAKFAST (6:30 AM - 9:30 AM): Hot breakfast with a special perk at this location: coffee with fresh-ground coffee beans. Also included: biscuits/gravy, pork/turkey sausage, potatos, fluffy egg omelets w/ cheese, fresh fruits, milk, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, soy milk, chocolate milk, cinnamon rolls, peanut butter/jams/jellies/teas. Breakfast attendants nice and friendly. LOCATION: Convenient to the airport location, attractions like the MAI-KAI, shopping malls, Sunshine Bakery (9 min from hotel, didn't get to go but it was on the list), Dr Von D Mizell-Eula State Park (19 min away from hotel, also didn't get to go). RETURN FACTOR: if parking/breakfast included and the rooms continue to be clean, then yes!

After being out of the room all day each time we had to call the front desk and arrange for trash removal and towels when we returned to the room. We aren't getting what we paid for. 2nd posting. After 11 nights we have had basic housekeeping 4 times. This morning I spoke with a woman who identified herself as the general manager asking for towels, the bed to be made, and trash removed. ARE THOSE NOT THE FUNDAMENTALS OF HOTEL HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES? Once again, they failed. We have spent nearly $300 a night and have NOT received what we have paid for. FYI TO MANAGEMENT: listen without interrupting and if you are allowing dogs in the hotel CLEAN THE CARPET.

While the front desk clerks that we encountered at check-in never cracked so much as a smirk, let alone a smile, the housekeeping staff were ALL SMILES and "honey, sweetie, baby!" That definitely made us feel better about our stay. The front desk staff the morning of our check-out were much kinder too. I called to ask if there was a business center with a printer because I'd forgotten to print our luggage tags for our cruise. While they do have a business center, they informed me that the printer wasn't working and offered to print them off for me. I was so appreciative. They also allowed us to use their tape and stapler to affix them to our luggage. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and there were lots of families enjoying the pool area. Our suite made me feel as if we'd stepped back in time to the 1970's. It was clean, but the carpet and furniture made it feel very dated. It had a rooftop deck-style balcony that was very unique. It rained briefly during our stay, and it was nice being able to crack the door and listen to the rain hit the balcony. It wasn't as "centrally located" as we thought it was at booking and the agent who sold us the room over-exaggerated the value of the suite, but we didn't hate our stay. Besides, the individually wrapped cookies offered at the front desk seemed to be a hit with everyone!

Rust on almost everything in the room was DISGUSTING - then to think, MOLD must be lingering from WATER DAMAGE everywhere in this building .... Atrocious!!! They do have work crews - 4-6 that stay in a room, go work, and then return to drink & eat - what I witnessed. Some people do not have the ability to respect others property - clearly what they have allowed here. The kitchen was what I was grateful for until I woke up and realized - I was not treated fairly or kindly, new people in charge when they had not been by themselves - high turnover. Nothing can change what happened - you work for a deceptive company. I did stay here just after Thanksgiving of last year and had an awful experience - I tried communicating with the MGMT on site, the General Mgr, Customer Guest Relations by phone & the Corporate Office by email - nothing was done to satisfy an AS IS room that had rusted items, obvious water damage, broken items, loose electric switch, loose retrofit shower hardware, bathroom fan not working, no filter in rusted kitchen hood, etc.... beyond anything I ever experienced in my entire life. No room was offered to me until 15 days later / 14 nights - when I filed a complaint with the BBB in North Carolina - Corporate lied that matter was closed - they actually chose NOT to communicate with me - but lied that there was correspondence & communication and that I refused a new room chose to not explain that nothing at all transpired until I brought it to their attention for the SECOND TIME - FIRST TIME was with th very same evening of check-in - only one email of a LIP SERVICE email and a refund to SHUT YOU UP of $183.04 that they actually had the audacity to reverse on Jan 11th 2024 - taken out on Jan 12th 2024 - extremely deceptive practices. CHASE BANK chose to side with MERCHANT and chose to close out my checking account that I had for almost 30 years - from the 1990's - they are protected for using DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES along with the "other things" that happen on that property - they refunded them the entire Purchase. If you yourself have had a problem with any of their other properties throughout the USA - please do feel free to reach out to the BBB located in North Carolina. To allow them to continue in this vein - when one is a PAYING GUEST - why would anyone want to make a reservation at a place that does not maintain the rooms nor their property and knowingly gives a guest a room of INFERIOR "AS IS" quality - absolutely horribly.

The location is great and we were able to find food nearby. Parking was no issue at all. My FAVORITE thing about this hotel was the standing balcony off of the room -- you don't see that too often, so I really loved the balcony. We were able to enjoy the fresh air. The only thing that was off-putting was the discolored water. There was a sign that said not to be alarmed, that it is from natural substances in the raw system -- or something along those lines. I've never seen this before so I was put off, but this is not a complaint. The breakfast isn't free, but they do offer some breakfast options. No longer than 10 minutes later it was resolved with no issues. Kuddos to Mrs. Mcfarlane for her hospitality and going above and beyond. The breakfast staff was also pleasant and fun to talk to as well, and the food was good. Dinner specials were good, but the food was not as great as the breakfast. Rooms are decently cleaned and accommodatable with enough room for all of your luggage. Amenities are average and the location is not by any restaurants so it is a plus that they have the bistro on site.

My husband and I booked this place, walked into the room and just stopped. A two bedroom suite, a kitchen with full fridge and freezer, and just plenty of space because we brought a lot of things with us that could not be in the tented house. It was very quiet as we had the stairs to one side, no one on the other side, and no neighbors above us. The shower pressure wasn't really a lot, according to my husband. You just had to change the setting on the head. And something on the bottom of the tub/shower so that people don't slip would be good. The internet went in and out at times. My husband had to fix the chain on the toilet as it kept running. We had to learn which way to turn the ice trays in the freezer, as one way wouldn't allow the door to close. Gisela, the front desk clerk, was very helpful with our check in and all our questions, and even granted us late check-out as the termite company said we couldn't get back in until 11 a.m. and my husband and I had to make two trips back and forth with all of our stuff - it'd take time. But we didn't realize our key wouldn't work at 10:30 a.m. instead of at 11 a.m., but we were ok with the late check out keys. My husband wishes they had another ramp to the side walk closer to the elevator area. Another entrance/exit to the establishment would be great (perhaps near 31st). But overall we felt safe and could still get up and get ready to go to work when we needed to. I would and already have recommended this hotel to our neighbors as they might be tenting soon.

I frequently would interview people there because it allowed me to hold interviews in a quiet and relaxing environment, but also in public so that female candidates would be comfortable. Unfortunately, I booked this on third-party, so now we're kind of stuck with it I won't make that mistake again and I discourage you from booking this property Our newly renovated suite had approximately three different colors of paint, because apparently instead of just repainting the rooms they touched it up, but with the wrong paint New curtains and furniture are basic, trying to look modern but also ending up just being a little strange. They're probably OK and that's probably a matter of preference, but they used to be pretty elegant. Most notable is the incredibly poor quality vinyl flooring that replaced the carpeting, it is neither nice nor does it do anything to make the room quieter or more comfortable, which sort of matters because there's a lot of highway traffic and train traffic on the block. One of the most ummm...interesting things was that we came into our room at approximately 6 PM, and the air conditioning have been turned off. It is not uncommon for hotels to turn the air conditioning up a little to save on electricity, but walking into a hot room in Florida isn't really the best choice. Add to this one of the most disturbing and uncomfortable aspects of this property. As I mentioned above, the previous beautiful fountains are chlorinated, but the level of chlorine is so strong in this hotel as to actually burn your eyes in the lobby and make you feel uncomfortable even in your own room Couple this with no air-conditioning when you walk in and it's basically feels like you're in a steam room at some type of over chlorinated locker room. It's nasty The public areas such as elevators and the lobby are OK, but bordering on shabby in some areas Front desk staff varieties from fine to openly hostile, which was a big topic of discussion on the elevators as people compared notes Actually, almost everybody who had ever been in an Embassy Suites was greatly disappointed The property is kind of a hot mess right now, and I'm not sure it's gonna get better for a long time, and I think it'll never be nice again Meanwhile back to the review... Oh wait a minute I'm distracted, is that blood on the ceiling, or is it mold ...maybe it's wallpaper paste... Can't tell Probably won't matter because we'll probably be dead of asphyxiation by morning from the chlorine Meanwhile, I'll relax in bed... If I don't abraid my skin on the poor-quality linens Gotta run, my husband's calling because there's some kind of nasty situation in the shower that involves long hair... Which might be fine except the both of us are bald When did Sheraton become downmarket? It used to be a nice brand.

There is a good amount of shopping in the general area. There are also lots of places to eat nearby. There is a waffle House, right next-door, but unlike most waffle houses, it is only open from 7 AM to 9 PM. The food is very good. Standard waffle House grub. Everybody at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. If we needed anything, they would help us. It is an older property, but it is very well kept. The room and the bathroom were spotless, the TV got a good picture, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a microwave, and the fridge was larger than your average hotel fridge, and it even had a small freezer The Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream , video, although there were a few minor, occasional hiccups. Overall, though, very good. The only issue that causes me to drop a star, was the bathroom. On our first stay, we noticed that the toilet sat very low, and that there was no bar or anything to help a person stand up or sit down. If you are an older or taller person, that could possibly be an inconvenience, or even a safety issue. It was a bit difficult for my partner, but not to the level that we needed to ask for a new room. On our second stay, I noticed that both the water temperature and water pressure in the shower Would fluctuate a bit while I was taking my shower. This could possibly just be that the pipes are older. The water pressure or temperature never fluctuated to an uncomfortable level, It was more of an inconvenience than anything else.. Overall, We were very happy with both of our stays. The price was very reasonable, and if you join the Best Western rewards program, you can earn points towards stays. If you have status with another hotel chain's program, Best Western will match, your status. The hotel has a guest Laundry, a pool, an exercise room, and snacks and drinks for sale. The free breakfast in the morning is very good They have a pancake machine, eggs, and breakfast protein, hot and cold cereal. Etc.... A few mornings, , they had what I refer to as "dirty" or "messy" scrambled eggs. They are called that, as the eggs are scrambled with Goodies inside. Think of the dish "dirty rice." This is the same idea. They were very good. My partner is normally not a fan of "hotel , scrambled eggs", but she really liked these. She said they were very good. We like the property a lot, we would gladly stay here again the next time we are passing through Fort Lauderdale, Thank you.
