I only stayed here for one night; we were in town for a concert, so we didn't require much. The hotel staff were friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The location is great and we were able to find food nearby. Parking was no issue at all. My FAVORITE thing about this hotel was the standing balcony off of the room -- you don't see that too often, so I really loved the balcony. We were able to enjoy the fresh air. The only thing that was off-putting was the discolored water. There was a sign that said not to be alarmed, that it is from natural substances in the raw system -- or something along those lines. I've never seen this before so I was put off, but this is not a complaint. The breakfast isn't free, but they do offer some breakfast options. They have a business area and all the standard amenities. I would recommend. read more

I would like to appreciate Lackaya Mcfarlane for her exceptionable professional services during our stay. We recently celebrated our anniversary and had an overnight stay here before our cruise. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome, and she assisted us every step of the way. She made our stay very personable and comfortable. We had a slight issue with our gift card, but she worked diligently before we left to hopefully resolve and ensured she would continue to work on it if it was not. No longer than 10 minutes later it was resolved with no issues. Kuddos to Mrs. Mcfarlane for her hospitality and going above and beyond. The breakfast staff was also pleasant and fun to talk to as well, and the food was good. Dinner specials were good, but the food was not as great as the breakfast. Rooms are decently cleaned and accommodatable with enough room for all of your luggage. Amenities are average and the location is not by any restaurants so it is a plus that they have the bistro on site. read more

Although it mentions housekeeping is not available daily, neither are the request options. They will not answer the chat option or request option on the app, and half the time if you go to the front desk, no one is there. There is also no phone in the room. So there's that. Just pray housekeeping happens to be in the hall if you need a towel. Also, room was dirty. Full of dirty corners, found someone's glasses from the previous stay and smells of cigarettes. There was blonde hair all over the bathroom. I will not be staying here again. read more

Decided to stay here rather than our usual spot because we had enough points for a free night here and on their app it showed better ratings. The pictures looked amazing, not very appealing in person. Outside it looks kind of gross and not very nice. Inside looked much nicer in the lobby and the guy at the desk was very friendly. He "upgraded" us, though I'm not sure it was really much of an upgrade. The hallway smelled like cigarette smoke, the room smelled musty but that went away. We checked out the balcony and it was alright, but someone was smoking weed so we went back in. We like the room cooler so when we turned the AC on it pulled in the weed smell. $5 for a mini bottle of water in the room is kind of absurd but we had it anyways for pure convenience. No vending machines sadly. If it wasn't for the front desk guy being friendly I would've rated this place a 2. Definitely will stick with our other Marriott location next time we visit. read more

This Courtyard by Marriott location definitely lacks the quality that I would expect from a Marriott hotel. When I arrived, I received nice customer service at the desk but that was about it. One thing that was explained to me was that due to the pandemic, they would not be providing cleaning service unless you called to request it the night before. I have stayed in a couple hotels over the last few months and have never experienced such. I'm not sure if it's concern over the pandemic or laziness. And speaking of cleanliness, the room wasn't that clean to me. The desk chair was filthy. There were ants in the room and there was obvious water damage on the ceiling near the windows. I managed to survive my stay but I will never stay here again unless some changes are made. This hotel really needs some renovations. read more

We saved about $20 a night by staying here rather than other nearby hotels. NOT worth it! Being cheap didn't pay off. Issues: - A lot of hair on the comforter. - Thin bedding that didn't keep us warm. - Stairs inaccessible from outside. - Treadmill and elliptical were old models that haven't been maintained and didn't work well. - Our outside view was obscured by a wall. - Low water pressure. - Loud wall AC unit. The thermostat inside wasn't attached to anything. - Relatively remote location, so more miles put on the rental car. - All staff have masks hanging down below their noses. - The fridge is tiny - smaller than a dorm sized one - and the back half had built up ice, so our leftovers froze. - Thin walls, loud noise from halls. - They do offer breakfast, but only if you pay for each item. - Yellow stains on the bedding read more

I do like the Courtyard brand of Marriott hotels. They have decent sized rooms with a work space and they do NOT have the free breakfast. Free breakfast means kids and kids means noise. No free breakfast means a quieter hotel. And this was definitely a quiet hotel even with a completely full parking lot. I did not make use of the Bistro or the workout area or even the pool, but the computers in the lobby were useful when I needed to print a document. Nice property, A-OK. read more

I did not stay at this hotel but I attended a seminar here this past week. My review is based upon the common areas of the hotel and banquet services which handled the conference room where the seminar was held. Parking was easy since I arrived at 7:30am. Signs posted throughout the parking lot said "not responsible for items left in your vehicle". This hotel is in a sketchy part of town so I was not thrilled to see these signs. No valet was offered & since I am afraid of my own shadow I parked in the closest spot near the front entrance. I locked my door & held my purse close to me as I walked into the hotel. The first thing I noticed upon entering the hotel was the smell. I smelled mold or mildew or something, but it just didn't smell clean. The front desk clerk said hello to me & gave me directions to the conference room. The clerk was very friendly & the lobby was tastefully decorated. The conference room was not very clean & this room also smelled like mold. They squeezed a lot of chairs at each table, so sitting comfortably was not an option unless you moved a chair out of the way. My boss & I sat alone at a table & just moved one of the chairs out of the way. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels, cream cheese, butter, coffee & water. No juice or fruit was offered. It was disappointing to say the least. The toasters did not look clean & the platter the bagels were served on was chipped. The Wi-Fi was okay, but it was not fast. Since this hotel caters to business people I would expect them to have faster Wi-Fi. The closest bathroom to the conference room was at the opposite end of the hotel. It would have been more convenient if they had a bathroom dedicated for the banquet rooms or at least one that was closer than the opposite end of the hotel. The ladies room was not clean & smelled of urine. It was truly disgusting. I chose not to take a picture of the bathroom because it was that disgusting. The staff was very friendly & the lobby looked modern & comfortable. I have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties including the Courtyard level ones. I was highly disappointed & I have to say this is the dirtiest Marriott property I ever stepped foot in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering hosting an event here. With that being said, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering staying as an overnight guest. If they can't keep the common areas clean & odor free I am curious as to how clean the rooms are. read more

The neighborhood where Courtyard By Marriott Downtown FLL is located used to be a slum back in the 1970s and 1980s. In the past few years, it was rezoned, and a development known as Quantum Flagler Village was built. The Courtyard by Marriot is somehow a part of and not a part of. This group. The pool you see in Courtyard by Marriotts advertising does not belong to the hotel. It is open to guests of the hotel, but you will not want to use it. It is an FLL hot spot club with raging loud music, and a filthy pool which on the Sunday morning we visited was filled with discarded drinks, cups, limes, and even dinner napkins. A dedicated entrance from the street allows any person access to the floor 9 rooftop pool from the hotel's ground floor. The Easton Rooftop Bar and Lounge hosts parties on weekends and also leases space to private parties. On the day we stayed, the 2nd floor lobby where you check-in held an all-day FashionWeek Model Casting call. I stood in the lobby with my innocent 15-year old and watched as hopefuls arrived in stilettos and bikinis. There were almost a hundred people trying to squeeze in to be discovered. We went to our room and stayed behind the door. At 4pm some unknown woman tried to get into our room. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as there is no security to this building what-so-ever. read more

I book my reservation on the 12 I got in email on the 14 to check in. Got there on the 15 to check in to my room, to find out They have canceled my reservation 2 hours ago . They claiming that they tried to run my credit card, but they could not processed it which i find to be besard. They we send you an email 2 hours Ago which I didn't get. I have same complaint as Ernis A. They cancelled my booking exactly as he described, with little notice, I am an out of state resident, they did not care, unapologetic. The manager gave my room away. I was checking in around 7:30 pm the reservation was cancelled at 6 by email, WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC crawling from MIAMI to CYPRESS CREEK PARKWAY. Only one smiley but unsympathetic clerk. I went in the car to go to Expedia to find nearby booking which to much my surprise COURTYARD MARRIOTT Cypress Creek Parkway had FIVE ROOMS available. Image that, so I booked a king room, it was cheaper than the initial reservation too. I went back to the counter and told the girl, look I just booked so why are you lying about no availability, then the manager comes out and looks in the computer and says we are oversold, there are several rooms under construction, we can't give you anything evidencing that the room is unavailable, you deal with Expedia because we haven't charged them and they haven't paid us. Then I spend the next two hours trying to book with the Westin down the street. Expedia did not help at all last night and kept my money. Fortunately I had extra money in my checking account to pay for a nights stay at the Westin. Between these two companies, Expedia and Marriott you get INHUMANE treatment. I will never recommend people to use Expedia nor book at the Marriott Cypress Creek. You should have seen the grin on that clerks face and the coldness of the manager. I've been here going on two weeks now. Have requested housekeeping daily since Sunday and have yet to get it. I have to change out my towels and linen myself, take out my trash myself, clean my bathroom myself. If I were at home that's expected but in a hotel that partly what you pay for. I have spoken to the FD daily and all they do is apologize and try to give you what's needed. Where is the GM and AGM? Someone should have said something to the guest if your staff decided to walk out. Your poor management is not my problem however now you have made it my problem. Over $1,000 spent at this hotel for the 14 days I'm here and all I get is an apology from the front desk. Mind you one of the managers was at the desk and heard my complaints and walked off. This is the bag of towels and linen I was given today to freshen up my room. UNACCEPTABLE!! read more

Stayed here for one night. The staff was friendly and the lobby is large and seemed clean. One thing we do love about Courtyards are the Paul Mitchell shower amenities which are awesome! Sadly, we were not impressed with our room. The room smelled like a musty smoke smell upon entering. The rooms are renovated but shortcuts were made which take away from the renovation (i.e. the doors look like the original doors of the hotel. They look like a laminate counter top). There is an odd parking fee of $5.35 per night when the hotel is not even a resort or in a downtown location. They post about smoking not being allowed but our hallway smelled heavily of pot. Thankfully the pot smell stayed out of our room. It'll do the job for one night but we won't likely return. read more

Three big issues here, and I can't get a manager from this property to call me back. So that is actually FOUR. 1) When I checked in, unbeknownst to me, they charged a full night deposit to my Amex. This was not asked for nor was it approved by me at any time. I was told there would be a $20 deposit. This is completely unacceptable. 2) I was charged $10.70 for a Restaurant Charge - I did not go anywhere near the restaurant, nor did I charge anything at the restaurant. This is also unacceptable. 3) This property is EXTRMELY dirty. My room condition was completely unacceptable. Floor clearly not vacumed, toilet not clean, shower not clean, bathroom mirror filthy. I could go on and on about the poor condition of the room. I would never consider staying at this property again. This property and their actions are not even close to any Marriott standard. read more

Usually I love coming to this location, but I've been having bad encounters with the African American young lady who works overnight.. Her attitude SUCKS! If you rather be home, stay home! Don't bring your attitude to work! I called the property and she picks up, I asked for the rate for a double bed, for 1 night. I already had the rates pulled up on Booking,Courtyard direct rate, & also being a Marriott member rate, I'm comparing all 3 rates , and guess what she does? I placed a reservation for 2 nights at this hotel over the weekend for a company event. I had made the reservation on there website for $180 per night and my credit card was billed $418.10 and reversed that next day. When I checked out that sunday my card was billed for $375 per night totalling $803.43. I spoke to a manager about it and they pretty much told me that's too bad with no help at all. Obviously something shady is going on with this location I would recommend avoiding a stay here and if you do decide to book than I would be on your toes and aware about any fraudulent acts. read more

I think that when you think of the Marriott brand, there's a certain expectation that comes with it. The evening hotel desk associate (Alexis) was very helpful. I didn't like the location as it wasn't close to anything. They do provide a courtesy shuttle (3 mile radius). They offer an on site dining bistro with happy hour. Breakfast was also served there. While we enjoyed the service of the evening staff, the morning staff left a lot to be desired. I tipped the evening staff for great service (notice I said the evening staff). The in room air conditioner had a funny smell to it, and the in room refrigerator made noises all night long. At one point I thought someone was trying to get into the room! I can't give it the best recommendations because I've had better from the Marriott brand. read more

We recently stayed here and while it wasn't the best experience ever, it wasn't bad. I wasn't too thrilled about the 2 dead roaches I found in my room. :-( Other than that, the place was alright. The room seemed clean otherwise and the lobby, guest areas downstairs were well kept. The price was pretty reasonable. They do not offer breakfast here as some of their competitors do. There were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, probably within a 5 minute drive. It's not too far from the freeway. The location of the hotel is quite a drive from the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, but it's nice if you want to be away from all the shenanigans of spring breakers who came to party. Even thought my visit went well overall, I'm not sure that i'll stay here again. There was nothing that really wow-ed me about the hotel. read more

VERY NOISY. STREET TRAFIIC AND GUEST NOISES. I stayed here to be close to executive airport as I had to go there in the morning. Front desk had no clue where it was when I asked at check in. They are also very eco Unfriendly To make one cup of coffee in the room which btw was disgusting I took out the cup from giant plastic. Then opened two cream and sugar picked which had many things to just get an extra creamer. What a brainless way of keeping things. PLEASE TAKE STEPS AND AVOID USE OF PLASTIC. read more

This is your typical Courtyard except for the awful smell if mildew in many of the rooms. My colleagues and I were in for a conference and of the 5 that checked in, 3 of us changed rooms cause they smelled. Mine was so bad that I got a headache within an hour of being in the room. Other than that - the rooms were clean. They offer free wifi - I had trouble in my first room, but they informed me that the closer to the front the better the wifi strength was. Moving only a few rooms down the call this was exactly the case. I also had breakfast in the morning - its free with most hotel stays. The two servers were crazy slow - they didnt know how to handle more than 10 tables at a time (which is sad since it was a buffet). The upside is you cannot beat this location if you are traveling for work. My recommendation is to check out the Westin on the other side of 95. read more

Note: I attended an event here but did not stay at this hotel. My review is based on the event and hotel catering alone. This hotel is spread out so nicely it has a large lobby with a Starbucks (awesome feature!!). I had a container shipped to this location for the event I was attending and the concierge new exactly where it was and was kind enough to roll it into the ball room for me. I asked about having them ship it back for me and with no problems they were able to quickly accommodate me in shipping the container back at the end of the evening. The event was catered by the hotel which was surprisingly excellent! The last few hotel dinners I have had have not been so great so I was very pleased to see a garlic shrimp pasta, sun dried tomato chicken with mozzarella cheese, salad, steamed veggies and garlic bread. My only regret was that I wish I could've taken some home with me! I was very pleased with short 3 hour stay and if ever in the area again I would definitely be back for a much longer stay. read more

This is a very ho-hum place to stay. I didn't experience any of the mildew smells mentioned by the previous reviewer, so maybe they've gotten rid of the issue. The staff is quite courteous and always asks if there is anything they can do to make my stay better. Kinda makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. The A/C is awesome, I had a rather large room and it can be an ice box in there! A couple negatives though: -One day, I returned to my room after the turndown service to find no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in my room. A few other days, I had found that my just opened and barely used stuff was replaced with new ones. Sounds like waste to me. -All of the pillows were extremely soft goose down ones. I know some people like those, but I prefer a nice foam pillow. They should throw some of those in there for good measure. -The cats. Good god the cats. The back of the parking lot is infested, literally, with stray cats. I saw as many as 20 of them and they freaked me the hell out. From what I hear, Florida has a problem with stray cats. I think you all need some more gators. read more

Hotel provides pre-ordered menu items which attendees can submit orders before the café closes. During break, attendees can pick up and pay for orders at the café. I ordered turkey BLT sandwich with fruits, water bottle & cookies. Cafe serves Starbucks product but does not accept Starbucks rewards card. I returned after the remodel. I have to say it is an improvement and it was needed. +4 stars But, there is still work to be done. One of the biggest annoyances of a hotel is the inability to rest. That's the case here because ALL the room doors slam close so hard every time, waking you up every hour. Somehow, guests don't expect to be that considerate. Looking at the reviews, they're all outdated and the current 2 starts it has is bogus. I'm currently in my hotel room in bed writing this review. The bar/lounge area is just awesome. Big tv's, lots of places to sit and relax, drinks are a bit pricey, but hey, it's south florida. Plenty of parking and not cramped at all, lots of space and spaces. The room itself is very nice although a little small. But in there to sleep not live out of it so it's not a complaint, just noting it. The price is ridiculously low for the area, quality of hotel, and overall. If you're in the area and looking to have a great time you need to stay here... read more

I had to go to this hell hole because I was diverted there because the original mariott was sold out even though I had a reservation. This occurred at 3 am. They paid for my stay at this hell hole. I then booked an extra day at this crazy place confirmed by the front desk clerk Who told me I would be charged only for the second day. After spending my day at the beach I came back at 10 pm only to be told they had no reservation for me and had rudely removed my stuff from the room. I asked them to call the desk clerk who then lied and check my interaction with the clerk which they claimed they couldn't do. Obviously the clerk messed up my reservation and the so called manager was covering for her. Hi I wanted to say as a Housekeeping Supervisor for Marriott! i really did expected more! first both of my rooms i reserved said balcony, honestly there is none but the slide in door! room 118, and 418 both bathrooms had a few hairs in them, like shower areas, floor, corners etc! my room 118 shower doors was not cleaned well at all, both mirrors in bathroom and hallway had finger prints at the bottom, the 1 in the bathroom when you shower with hot water you can tell it was used to clean with a dirty rag you can see the smears! im really big on my bathrooms period! room was clean, clean sheets, smell of room was good carpet and furniture in good shape! balcony door inside out was dirty finger prints all over the white part the handle black with food particles and the floor outside was dirty had used charcoal on the side a dirty used q tip on the floor and floor had black sticky marks just the so called balcony wasnt looked at at all, Next morning in the Bistro we only can use credit or charge to room, very inconvenient i do cash! all im saying overall building inside out needs a lot of attention cleaning wise! read more

Sam, from the front desk, is the rudest Marriott employee I have ever encountered, and I am a frequent Marriott user. She should never have been hired at any Marriott. We called to ask a question and she said she didn't know the answer and told me "look online." I asked to speak to someone that did know and she said "there's no one I can call to ask." Completely unacceptable and a blatant lie! I then called the JW Marriott at Marco Island and the front desk lady forwarded my call to the reservation department, which answered my question right away.
