We never received it and were on the phone with VRBO for over an hour - transferred 5 times and hung up on. When we finally spoke with someone they offered us another MOTEL to stay in that was five miles from that location. We had to cancel our stay for a refund but now have to make other plans. Oh yeah, and your name has to be on a preapproved list to even board the ferry. But once you get there, it is a truly special place. A perfect staycation. A great break from the hustle and bustle. And even as a sobe resident, Fisher Island is such a great escape for breakfast, lunch, cocktails and/or dinner. Sitting at the beach club you get a perfect view of the city and the beach / ocean. Plus i am convinced they produce perfect weather and breeze. If it's raining in miami it's probably perfect weather on Fisher. Even better the staff is amazing. They are on a first name basis with almost everyone. Whatever you ask for they will try damn hard to get it. The owner and her staff are a delight to be around. The rooms are spotless, many have furniture like you would have at home and very comfy. The Wi-Fi is on the entire property, they have washers available, nice barbecue area with several grills. The resort attract families and I've never experienced any issues. I've stayed there from 1 to 3 months so I have a good vibe for the facility. In fact I'll be there part of this winter and the resort attracts lots of the same folks each year so I've many many friends to share a meal with or spend the day by the pool chatting With. The location is perfect being only two blocks from the beach. Hope you take an opportunity to stay there, I know the owner is Italian and speaks Italian and the office has a sweet lady who speaks French.

The shower curtain and lining was moldy and I could not take a shower without wearing flip flops because it was atrocious. The water pressure was also dreadful. At least the hot water was adequate. I can overlook all of this, however, dealing with the manager, Vladimir, was a nasty experience. He was extremely rude and downright obnoxious. I brought my 3 pound ,12 year old service chihuahua and had no issue paying an additional fee for cleaning. Perhaps I should have told them in advance, though never had to when staying elsewhere. He handled it horribly and was very insensitive. He insisted I tell him why I had my dog which is a privacy violation. He almost fought me on this. I wonder if I would have had a seizure in front of him if he would have been okay with it and been more understanding. Mind you, my service dog has no teeth, doesn't bark, is totally trained to go outside and does not shed. He nuzzles my my head when he senses a migraine and/or seizure. They charged me $150, which is more than I've ever paid at The Four Seasons or the Ritz, but to avoid this neandrathal, it was paid.

The neighborhood also felt safe and comfortable as the hotel was on a street with other hotels and business parks (although drive 2-3 blocks out and you'll be in a more Latino/Cuban area). The rooms were small but clean and with a kitchen area, stove, and full-sized refrigerator. Only gripes were that they don't give shampoo (come on, how cheap can you be?!) and they don't offer hair dryers (front desk supposedly had some, but they were all out). Stayed here since most other hotels were occupied due to the Food Network Festival in Miami. Got a decent rate for ~$100/night which was a good price for that particular busy weekend. Bottom line: I have no problem with a no-frills hotel and the studio with kitchen and fridge were convenient, but come on, don't be so stingy and not even offer shampoo and a hair dryer. 3 stars for the room and faciliities minus 0.5 stars for being so stingy = 2.5 stars.

So, a few caveats..These rooms are smaller than the other Extended Stays in Miami area.I'd say "cozy" if I were only here for a couple weeks, but for 2 1/2 months, it feels small. Other review said stingy on shampoo, hair dryers ...totally agree! You have to ask for these items at the desk (or maybe before arrival?). So request these before expecting these or any other items in your room. If I was staying overnight, that would totally suck. Thankfully, I have my own toiletries! If you dislike the smell of cigarettes, get a room near the end,where there's less foot traffic. Rooms near the laundry get more noise, and smokers walking by. Laundry is clean and well lit, and strangely,not very busy. There's a Publix within 3 minutes drive of this location, as well as Walgreens, CVS, Subway, McDonalds, and yup, Burger King near Whopper Way and NW 7th St. I would stay here again, but for a shorter extended stay!
