I decided to look for hands on training and found a few people advertising in the Miami area. I quickly learned that I wanted to hire a Licensed captain that had the experience and necessary credentials to back it up. He worked with me to schedule a lesson at my marina and i could not be happier. He went over everything i didn't know and more! After expressing my interest, he quickly informed me that it was no longer included. On the day of the event, he said he would try to have jet skis delivered to the yacht by 6pm. I texted him at 5:30 to check the status and never received a response. A water mat was also advertised on the listing as an "extra." There was no water mat. The only "toy" included was the life saver used for emergency purposes. That's what I was hanging onto and the captain made sure to dock in very choppy waters after having passed several sandbars. Only small coolers on board, which required an additional upcharge for me from my catering company even though Myke knew I was having a catered event. My guests and I were required to load them on and off the boat and I have to return them today. Broken hot tub that wasn't even turned on until the end of our journey. Once we were in the hot tub, the captain asked us to turn it off because the "breakers tripped" and it wasn't working. This seems like a safety hazard and the hot tub should not have been advertised if guests can't even use it. The original plan was to dock at EPIC Marina, as recommended by Myke, for the beautiful views. He failed to inform me of a $50 per car charge for valet parking and that there was a huge wedding the same time the yacht was leaving, which was going to considerably affect the availability of parking in the first place. As a result, the location of docking had to be changed the morning of the event, which was an inconvenience for my guests. I was also informed the night before the event that this Marina only allows a 20 minute docking window. How were the decorators, recommended by Myke, supposed to decorate in 20 minutes? I was not informed, although it was known that I was having a catered formal meal, that I could not have any any sternos or fire aboard to keep the food warm. The caterer called me 2 hours before the event to tell me Myke's response to them was, "I don't know what to tell you." The decorator, recommended by Myke (who was great), called me just hours before the event so I could hear the captain yelling at her in the background about an issue with the decor. Completely unprofessional for the captain to have humiliated her this way. Overall, a chaotic experience that was certainly not luxury. There was no acknowledgement of the anxiety and the stress caused by this company's incompetence. Myke told my friend that he "should've never taken on this charter." I guess the decorating and catering were too much to deal with which doesn't make sense to me considering this company advertises luxury experiences. I told Myke exactly what I was renting it for (my husband's birthday) and how special I wanted it to be for him. Many promises were made to make it a memorable experience but none were delivered. There is nothing luxurious about this company, and I cannot recommend them. The best part of the experience was the crew mate. She was kind and helpful. I feel awful that she needs to work with a captain (Pat) who displayed such a poor attitude.

His boat is easy to find since it has the highest mast in the marina. Around nine people were aboard along with Captain Frank and one crew member. Passengers were allowed to bring their own cooler with food and beverages. Pier 5 is at the backside of the Marina and we were able to enjoy the scenery that is Bayside from the water as we motored out the channel until we passed the Rickenbacker causeway. It seemed like the 68' mast barely cleared the bridge as we passed under. In reality he had four feet of clearance. Once we entered Biscayne Bay Captain Frank headed up into the wind to hoist the main sail after the main was hoisted the jib went up. The winds were from the East South East between 15 to 20 knots. We then headed down the bay accelerating to almost 10 knots on a starboard tack with the high side of the boat (I found it more comfortable to be on high side which provides more breeze and better view). We were heeled on starboard tack which provided a good view on the boat's high side of the bay with the normal weekend activities of jet skis, sailboats and motorboats. We saw a Hobie cat capsize in he water which provided additional viewing entertainment. Key Biscayne was picturesque as we sailed by. We came about after ten miles of sailing somewhere around Cutler Bay (see attached boat track) We were now on port tack which provided good views of Coconut Grove, Brickell and the Miami Skylines (Miami skyline is just behind the New York Skyline IMHO). During the voyage passengers were able to take the wheel and steer the boat under Captain Franks watchful eyes. This provided some excitement as each passenger got a feel for this large boat. We headed into the wind again to take down the jib and the main. We motored thru the channel into the Miami Marina to finish our cruise. I would recommend this cruise for anyone who wants to see Miami from a different perspective and experience sailing on a fast cruising sailboat. Captain Frank schedules the sailings on demand and is flexible to a day three hour or sunset cruise.
