paid $171 to ship a package international. Brought it to the post office in Orland. They looked over paperwork and sent it out. It came back a week later. Went back inside the Orland post office and asked them to review the paperwork and said it has to get to the customer this time. They said everything was good a week later it came back again. My customer was upset and I lost the $4000 sale. I went back into the post office asked for a refund. They told me even though I went in there and paid them inside the post office.that I have to call customs and ask them to help me. I called customs. They told me I have to go back in post office. The Orland post office people inside refused to help me. I still haven't gotten my $171 in refund. The people are so nasty at the desk and very unhelpful. as a small business that always use the post office, I will never use them ever again! One star. read more

Do not apply for your passport here. They do not do it properly and your passport will be rejected and/or you will need to mail documents to USCIS yourself (at your own cost). They charge the fee of $35 for NOTHING. Complete incompetence and workers are not helpful or friendly. Applied for passports for my 2 minor children and asked if old passports should be submitted and postal worker said no. When I rebutted that, she was utterly rude. Turns out, she was incorrect and I now have to mail the old passports via certified mail for the new passports to be issued. read more

Is 0 an option? Crabby people working at this Post Office. On another note, we had a great mail carrier, Frank. He retired this year and the new carrier felt she did not have to deliver mail on Saturdays. There are only three house on our road, and all three of us went to the Post Office and complained more than once. Every time the "Postmaster" (different person every time I went in) said they would check into it. Nothin changed, still no deliveries on Saturday for weeks. Finally we began getting deliveries, but now it's been three days since any of us have had mail delivered. No wonder the Post Office is going under. read more

I see a lot of complaints about this post office, but I don't really have any. It does have long lines, especially during people's lunch hours and on Saturday. However, we love our carrier. He's a nice guy and always gets us our deliveries on schedule, completes package pick ups from the front porch, etc. All told, this is a reasonably well run post office. read more

Wow ... Post Offices really get a bad name ... and a bad rating. We need to think for a moment what it would be like without the USPO. How would you get mailed bills paid, and how would you get invitations and announcements sent. While much of the world is going digital or FedEx or Amazon, it won't be in my lifetime that the Post Office is disbanded. This is just an irreplaceable business that most of us take for granted. I don't have any trouble with this outlet of the Post Office. While it sometimes takes a while to get through the lines, I usually get the help I need and a nice person to work with. I like that they have a drive-up mail slot on the outside ... especially now with the Covid-9 scare going around. So this outlet of the Orland Park post office rates a 3-star from me ... and I thank them for their service in what I assume is often a thankless job. read more

No mail Delivery in Orland Park. I have received mail twice in the past two weeks. I stopped at the PO on 144th St. on Monday and was told our Carrier was on vacation. I receive Informed Delivery emails most days indicating that mail is available. When posting on "Next Door" many neighbors are experiencing the same problems. Over the past years I have experienced problems and asked to speak to the Postmaster. There are always in meetings and never respond. Our Postal Service needs a major overhaul from the top on down. I have no problem with the postal delivery, everything outside of the post office is very well done and I compliment all who deliver mail from this post office. My issue is with one particular person who works at the front desk. I wont say names but there is an elderly lady who works the counter who is nothing but rude, and of no help at all I've gone twice with mail delivery problems not related to anyone who lives at my house and given the ru around. Not to mention my wife will not go in the post office becouse of the attitude and disrespect from this particular employee. Either she needs to retire, or be explained that it's not her personal post office and that she is employed to help the public who pays here salary I may add. This post office has got to be one of the worst on the southside they just don't care they will be 15 people in line one person behind the counter which is slow as molasses and then you got to the three other people standing around chitchatting instead of helping move the line but when you do finally get to the counter they are extremely polite and they seem helpful but by the time you get to the counter that really doesn't matter read more

The most incompetent employees on earth. It's a wonder any of us even receive our mail at all knowing these lazy jerks are responsible for it. I cringe anytime I have to enter this building. I've tried so many times to be overly nice, polite, kind, smile, say hello. They acknowledge nothing. They won't even say hello in return. Won't look you in the eye. Because to them you're just inconveniencing them. It's really strange and awkward. How dare customers come in and ask you to do your job!??! NOT a fan of this post office! There was only 1 person in front of me and because of the post office employee's lackadaisical attitude and slowness it took over 20 minutes for me to get up to the counter to give her my 2 small packages to mail and 2 pre-stamped envelopes and 1 envelope I needed to have weighed because it was full of photographs I was mailing plus 1 book of stamps. While that may sound like I had a bunch of stuff to do once I got up to the counter - I have mailed a lot more during 1 visit to the post office and it took a lot less time even with people ahead of me! The Flossmoor Post Office is the best I have found around the South suburbs of Chicago. However, it's not super close to Orland! read more

Each time I have attended this post office. The service has been great. Laverne needs to be acknowledge for her outstanding service of professionalism. She is accurate and friendly. What can I say about this Orland Post Office that hasn't already been said? It is awful. Not modern. No machines so you have to wait in a very slow line for anything you need. If you get a card that says pick up your mail on a certain date at the post office, you can be certain that your mail won't be there and they will tell you it isn't their fault. read more

This place is a DISASTER. Typical government establishment. Drive the extra 10 minutes, pay the extra $5 to go somewhere else. I stood in a 25 min long line, got to the register and needed to add a return address. This specific post office has postal workers who are highly rude, bull and extremely lazy and do not want to work. i came across some individuals who had been at that specific post office who were complaining about not receiving their mail in weeks and the response to that was "well you gotta wait til we get to ya" Another individual who went there said they make up excuses not to take passport applications and passport photo. I attest to that because they gave me such a hard time I nearly lost it, I did lose it because they are highly rude and ignorant and lazy. I honestly think the government should read all the reviews on that specific location and re staff everyone because non of the workers their have any amount of etiquette or nice quality customer service. The current workers their should not be representing anything United States. I really hope the government reads all the reviews about this particular post office and restaffs all of them! After about ten months I was able to get in contact with the person who handles the accident involving usps and was able to get most of the damage repaired do to the accident. I do understand the usps has a tuff job to do with little praise or funding. So please try sending a hand written letter to a friend or family member. read more

Terrible customer service. Two women were extremely rude. I used to support the US Post Office when I heard our lawmakers wanted to close it and have us rely on Fed Ex and UPS. Fed Ex and UPS would be more expensive to mail and ship stuff. But, at least their workers know how to talk to and treat people. These federal workers are awful. I seldom have a good experience at either post offices in Orland Park. Today was no exception I had my mail on mail hold for 7 days and today was the day it was to be delivered. At 1:30 I went to the mailbox... No mail.... Since I had to mail a package I seldom went to the post office. I checked with the man behind the counter about my mail delivery... I was told it was on the truck and they got a late start .... So I went home and waited and waited.. Finally at 5:30 still no mail or the 2 packages that I was notified via email they tried to deliver but no one was home...DUH. MAIL HOLD!!!! So I go back to the PO to check and the same black man behind the counter gives ME a hard time and says "did you get mail today"...I say NO he says then its on the truck .. I start to say something back and he says to me "you are threatening a USPS worker" ...... Excuse me???? I didn't even get anything out of my mouth.. I left and it is now 6:15 and still no mail or packages..... Grrrrr read more

I have a business, I drop off packages often, and I know damn well I better get a receipt with the tracking number before I walk out by just leaving the boxes on the desk like one man there always wants me to do. Completely and utterly rude and useless. I havent received mail since i put my forwarding order 3 months ago. I have called and told them and they stated they have no such order even though my mail carrier in my previous city told me they forwarded plenty of mail to my new address. I would rate this post office lower if it were possible. Each and every one of them is rude, disrespectful and if you're not a quick in and out they have a complete disregard for everyone. After many, many weeks of getting the run around, almost daily phone calls and many complaints, and maybe them realizing that I just wasn't going away, I was finally able to resolve my issues that weren't my fault to begin with. I have never dealt with such unprofessional employees before. When I have tried calling to get an answer as to when the drop box in the 153rd location in Orland would be repaired, I get a song and a dance. I have been told the box needed to be outsourced to be repaired, when I talked to the postmaster she told me she was new and that was on her list of things to address. I called again today (almost 4 months after the new postmaster told me it was on her list to take care of) IT IS STILL NOT REPAIRED! They get upset when I ask if they can tell me when it might be fixed. Where are we supposed to drop off packages if the box is broken?? How is it that a hole in the wall that we drop our packages through be broken in the first place to require a year of it being out of order?
