I see a lot of complaints about this post office, but I don't really have any. It does have long lines, especially during people's lunch hours and on Saturday. However, we love our carrier. He's a nice guy and always gets us our deliveries on schedule, completes package pick ups from the front porch, etc. All told, this is a reasonably well run post office. read more

This is what you can expect from our local USPS, they literally ran over my package. Can't say I'm surprised given the state of the company. read more

Very disappointing experience during our passport appointment on Saturday morning. We arrived 25 minutes early for our scheduled appointment. The passport clerk instructed us to leave and retrieve my adult daughter's original birth certificate (which is not required if you are an adult, BTW). But we agreed to cooperate and did exactly that and returned by 10:00 a.m., only to be told we had to reschedule because we were now "late." When I politely explained that we were only late because we followed her instructions, she responded, "You gave me an attitude when you left, and that's why I'm not making an exception for you." I asked to speak with a supervisor, but the decision was upheld by supervisor (Stephanie). I understand policies must be followed, but customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect. Policies should be applied consistently, not based on whether an employee believes a customer has an 'attitude.' I hope management reviews this interaction so others don't have a similar experience. I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. there are plenty of other post offices you can go to. If people stop going to this place then they will shut this place down..I think that's what the employees want....I would guess. read more

I was on my way to the post office and almost had an accident. When I entered the post office I heard Amy talking to another customer and it's was nice hearing people talk nice to each other. Amy was so pleasant and she calmed me down since almost having an accident on the corner of 144th st. Amy needs to be recognized as being a wonderful caring person. read more

paid $171 to ship a package international. Brought it to the post office in Orland. They looked over paperwork and sent it out. It came back a week later. Went back inside the Orland post office and asked them to review the paperwork and said it has to get to the customer this time. They said everything was good a week later it came back again. My customer was upset and I lost the $4000 sale. I went back into the post office asked for a refund. They told me even though I went in there and paid them inside the post office.that I have to call customs and ask them to help me. I called customs. They told me I have to go back in post office. The Orland post office people inside refused to help me. I still haven't gotten my $171 in refund. The people are so nasty at the desk and very unhelpful. as a small business that always use the post office, I will never use them ever again! One star. read more

I don't visit the post office often, mostly because of this review I'm about to leave. I would love to be one of those people that gives the USPS regular business, but they've proved time and time again why I probably won't. You go there to buy stamps, they're rude. You go to drop off a package, they're rude. The mail personnel that deliver to our house 75% of the time get our mail correct and the other 25%, I have to go out and do their job and deliver it for them because.......apparently numbers are hard. I'm a nurse and if I made as many mistakes as our local postal carriers make, people would die. I know it's not a life or death job, but they make decent money and I would think they would just try a little harder. If it was only occasional, I wouldn't even comment, but it's nearly daily. And literally the worst of all is that I think they must require during their interview process for working inside the post office that you show the most annoyed, rude, frustrated, sad personality you can or they won't hire you. I've never seen a happy, smiling, seemingly joyful person at the post office. We need Joy people! Let's try to do better! I'm going to try to avoid the post office in the meantime and tell my friends to do the same! read more

Do not apply for your passport here. They do not do it properly and your passport will be rejected and/or you will need to mail documents to USCIS yourself (at your own cost). They charge the fee of $35 for NOTHING. Complete incompetence and workers are not helpful or friendly. Applied for passports for my 2 minor children and asked if old passports should be submitted and postal worker said no. When I rebutted that, she was utterly rude. Turns out, she was incorrect and I now have to mail the old passports via certified mail for the new passports to be issued. read more

Theresa and Tai were efficient and helpful, but this location is old, in need of updates- doesn't even have a self-service machine. Had to wait in a long line just for a Priority Post parcel, versus self--service check out in 3 minutes like I usually do. read more

Is 0 an option? Crabby people working at this Post Office. On another note, we had a great mail carrier, Frank. He retired this year and the new carrier felt she did not have to deliver mail on Saturdays. There are only three house on our road, and all three of us went to the Post Office and complained more than once. Every time the "Postmaster" (different person every time I went in) said they would check into it. Nothin changed, still no deliveries on Saturday for weeks. Finally we began getting deliveries, but now it's been three days since any of us have had mail delivered. No wonder the Post Office is going under. read more

Wow ... Post Offices really get a bad name ... and a bad rating. We need to think for a moment what it would be like without the USPO. How would you get mailed bills paid, and how would you get invitations and announcements sent. While much of the world is going digital or FedEx or Amazon, it won't be in my lifetime that the Post Office is disbanded. This is just an irreplaceable business that most of us take for granted. I don't have any trouble with this outlet of the Post Office. While it sometimes takes a while to get through the lines, I usually get the help I need and a nice person to work with. I like that they have a drive-up mail slot on the outside ... especially now with the Covid-9 scare going around. So this outlet of the Orland Park post office rates a 3-star from me ... and I thank them for their service in what I assume is often a thankless job. read more

No mail Delivery in Orland Park. I have received mail twice in the past two weeks. I stopped at the PO on 144th St. on Monday and was told our Carrier was on vacation. I receive Informed Delivery emails most days indicating that mail is available. When posting on "Next Door" many neighbors are experiencing the same problems. Over the past years I have experienced problems and asked to speak to the Postmaster. There are always in meetings and never respond. Our Postal Service needs a major overhaul from the top on down. I understand there will be a rate increase in the near future. Very disturbing. read more

This post office has got to be one of the worst on the southside they just don't care they will be 15 people in line one person behind the counter which is slow as molasses and then you got to the three other people standing around chitchatting instead of helping move the line but when you do finally get to the counter they are extremely polite and they seem helpful but by the time you get to the counter that really doesn't matter read more

The most incompetent employees on earth. It's a wonder any of us even receive our mail at all knowing these lazy jerks are responsible for it. I cringe anytime I have to enter this building. I've tried so many times to be overly nice, polite, kind, smile, say hello. They acknowledge nothing. They won't even say hello in return. Won't look you in the eye. Because to them you're just inconveniencing them. It's really strange and awkward. How dare customers come in and ask you to do your job!??! I work in customer service and strive to treat everyone with above and beyond service with a smile. It goes a long way. And people appreciate the small things like that. read more

NOT a fan of this post office! There was only 1 person in front of me and because of the post office employee's lackadaisical attitude and slowness it took over 20 minutes for me to get up to the counter to give her my 2 small packages to mail and 2 pre-stamped envelopes and 1 envelope I needed to have weighed because it was full of photographs I was mailing plus 1 book of stamps. While that may sound like I had a bunch of stuff to do once I got up to the counter - I have mailed a lot more during 1 visit to the post office and it took a lot less time even with people ahead of me! The Flossmoor Post Office is the best I have found around the South suburbs of Chicago. However, it's not super close to Orland! read more

I have no problem with the postal delivery, everything outside of the post office is very well done and I compliment all who deliver mail from this post office. My issue is with one particular person who works at the front desk. I wont say names but there is an elderly lady who works the counter who is nothing but rude, and of no help at all I've gone twice with mail delivery problems not related to anyone who lives at my house and given the ru around. Not to mention my wife will not go in the post office becouse of the attitude and disrespect from this particular employee. Either she needs to retire, or be explained that it's not her personal post office and that she is employed to help the public who pays here salary I may add. This particular employee chooses to do as she wishes behind the counter like it's her own business. I get better results and attention from traveling to outlying locations away from orland park than in dealing with the post office that's near my house. read more

What can I say about this Orland Post Office that hasn't already been said? It is awful. Not modern. No machines so you have to wait in a very slow line for anything you need. This place is a DISASTER. Typical government establishment. Drive the extra 10 minutes, pay the extra $5 to go somewhere else. I hate this place. Hate hate hate. Super long lines, not because these people are overly busy or under staffed, but beause they just don't care. Really? It takes over 30 seconds to ring up a person for a book of stamps? Really? Really? It's necessary to log onto your computer, count your drawer, rearrange your pens, then walk away when there is a line of customers? Really? Really? 6:45 PM Monday following the Veterans Day the clowns had off and still no mail delivery at this time! WTF?? This incompetent dumping ground has to get cleaned up. This specific post office has postal workers who are highly rude, bull and extremely lazy and do not want to work. i came across some individuals who had been at that specific post office who were complaining about not receiving their mail in weeks and the response to that was "well you gotta wait til we get to ya" Another individual who went there said they make up excuses not to take passport applications and passport photo. I attest to that because they gave me such a hard time I nearly lost it, I did lose it because they are highly rude and ignorant and lazy. I honestly think the government should read all the reviews on that specific location and re staff everyone because non of the workers their have any amount of etiquette or nice quality customer service. The current workers their should not be representing anything United States. I really hope the government reads all the reviews about this particular post office and restaffs all of them! I know postal workers are overworked and probably underpaid but their is no reason to act how the postal workers at that particular office act. Obviously I am not the only one who thinks that by the ppl I came across today and the reviews I just read. A side note one horrendous and rude postal worker from that office scares the life out of me which I'm sure she does to everyone she comes across. read more

If you don't like your job, Vernis, maybe you should work in the back where people would be better insulated from your attitude. I didn't need the misinformative lecture about my FOID card in my wallet indicating that I'm carrying a firearm on government property, and that being a federal offense. I had to explain the difference between a concealed carry license and a FOID card, to take the wind out of his sails. Terrible customer service. Two women were extremely rude. I used to support the US Post Office when I heard our lawmakers wanted to close it and have us rely on Fed Ex and UPS. Fed Ex and UPS would be more expensive to mail and ship stuff. But, at least their workers know how to talk to and treat people. These federal workers are awful. They don't care, and obviously think they will never get fired for their unprofessional, rude behavior. It's a shame. I do not know what has happened in the past 3 months to this post office but it's terrible. I've been using this post office to drop off packages for my business for over 2 years now, almost 3.. and before they were reliable, kind, very efficient and above all would not lose my packages to my customers. I am counting now almost 15 lost packages in the past month alone.. I have called USPS customer service (when I can actually get through to them) I have come in multiple times with my issues, and I never write bad reviews but this is getting to be insane with the amount of bad customer service I have witnessed from USPS in general and this post office in particular in the past few months. It is unfair to have to be losing so much money because someone just forgets to scan something in correctly or scan something in at all! And the other issue is them saying my packages are not weighed correctly, so they send them back to me.. and then I have to drive there, just to find out the package does weigh the correct amount and they have no idea why someone sent it back in the first place. Not only is this an extreme inconvenience to me it's frustrating for my customers who get confused why the updates say "Return to Sender" when it just got "Accepted" or not even "Accepted" at all. I will definitely be moving my business to another post office somewhere in the area. read more

I seldom have a good experience at either post offices in Orland Park. Today was no exception I had my mail on mail hold for 7 days and today was the day it was to be delivered. At 1:30 I went to the mailbox... No mail.... Since I had to mail a package I seldom went to the post office. I checked with the man behind the counter about my mail delivery... I was told it was on the truck and they got a late start .... So I went home and waited and waited.. Finally at 5:30 still no mail or the 2 packages that I was notified via email they tried to deliver but no one was home...DUH. MAIL HOLD!!!! So I go back to the PO to check and the same black man behind the counter gives ME a hard time and says "did you get mail today"...I say NO he says then its on the truck .. I start to say something back and he says to me "you are threatening a USPS worker" ...... Excuse me???? I didn't even get anything out of my mouth.. I left and it is now 6:15 and still no mail or packages..... Grrrrr read more

So I hardly bother to give bad reviews, but in this case I think I must. I haven't have an issue with lost packages...yet, but the tracking doesn't even update till days after. It wasn't happening till the last few weeks.
