I'm filing a complaint about repeated delivery issues with my rural route carrier. I maintain my driveway every day during winter and keep the area around my mailbox fully cleared. Despite this, my carrier has repeatedly refused to deliver mail and packages, claiming access issues that are not accurate. The mailbox area has been shoveled, salted, and fully uncovered multiple times, yet delivery is still skipped.
Most recently, a package from Home Depot containing epoxy was left in garbage bags on my deck, and the epoxy was wet and leaking. This is not acceptable handling of packages, especially when the driveway and mailbox were completely accessible.
I've made multiple efforts to ensure safe, easy access for the carrier, including widening the approach and removing all ice. Other delivery services have had no issues reaching the mailbox or driveway. At this point, the problem appears to be the carrier's unwillingness to deliver, not the conditions.
I'm requesting that this matter be reviewed and corrected so that mail and packages are delivered reliably and handled properly read more
