I actually found Jennifer after searching online for photographers in San Francisco and her work immediately stood out. Her style felt fresh and unconventional -- more documentary and journalistic than traditional -- and I especially loved her use of black and white photography, which was a big reason we chose her. The day started at our hotel, where she jumped between our separate rooms to capture my wife and me getting ready. Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. The moment was absolutely incredible, and she handled everything; we didn't have to do a thing but follow her lead. That professional confidence continued at City Hall. She has a masterful familiarity with the building. She took full control of the shoot, guiding us as she told us exactly where to stand, how to pose, and where to move next so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. As a photographer myself, I really appreciated her confidence and professionalism. All we had to do was follow instructions and be present. She knows San Francisco City Hall inside and out -- the lighting, the angles, the timing, and the key locations that truly matter -- every shot felt deliberate and it showed. The technical skill here is top-notch-- the compositions were beautiful, the balance of each frame was spot-on, and her gorgeous color grading. We received around 300 images, and the quality is so consistent that I plan to print every last one of them in large format to ensure we have a permanent physical archive. When we received the final package, we were so touched -- she sent our photos on a beautiful USB drive along with printed images, some sweets, and other thoughtful details. It was the perfect finishing touch to a genuinely wonderful experience. If you're getting married at City Hall -- or anywhere in San Francisco -- Jennifer Michelson / A Girl and a Camera is exceptional. Thank you Jennifer! Laura and Junior.

Augie is a kind, calming, and professional presence for kids and adults alike, putting everyone at ease. It may seem like photography sessions that feel candid would result in mediocre results, but somehow he always gets amazing shots. He's very professional, friendly, quick to respond, and just amazing to work with overall. I had just started wedding planning when I ran into a friend who told me Augie was their photographer and shared his info. We had looked through a number of photographers, but Augie's work stood out to us through all of it--his photos truly captured the feeling of each moment, and we loved everything in his portfolio. When we reached out, he responded so quickly and answered all our questions right away. For our engagement shoot, it was my husband's first time doing a formal photoshoot. Augie came very prepared, offered great tips, and made us feel completely at ease. He was so easy to talk to and work with, and we genuinely had such a fun time with him! He was also flexible with timing and weather to make sure we could get the best lighting. We were blown away by his ability to notice something special in just a few seconds and turn it into a beautifully captured moment. For our wedding day, Augie was even more impressive. I had shared our (very full) itinerary with him ahead of time, and I was surprised to notice that he knew it by heart. When we started running behind, he gently but efficiently helped move things along. Even though it was his first time at our venue, he had an incredible eye for finding perfect spots, turning a simple fence into a magical backdrop. He worked seamlessly around the golfers at our venue, guiding us at the right times and capturing the sweetest in-between moments. He also accommodated all our specific requests, including photos with our sports car and dress details. We absolutely love our wedding photos and all the special moments he preserved. We were also so impressed with how fast he sent us our sneak peek photos--it was such a fun surprise to get highlights so quickly. Overall, I can't stress enough how grateful we are for Augie and everything he captured during our engagement shoot and wedding day. We're so happy with all the memories he helped capture that we will cherish forever, and I truly can't recommend him enough.

She truly listened, and then executed everything more perfectly than we could have imagined. When we finally sat down to look through our wedding gallery, we were completely blown away. Every photo is absolutely beautiful. One of the things we appreciated most was how Alison and Amy captured not only all of the big moments, but also the countless little in-between moments that we either weren't together for or didn't even realize were happening. Looking through the gallery allowed us to experience our wedding day from a whole new perspective and brought us right back to every emotion we felt. It all started when I sent a mass message request for quotes from various photographers around the Napa area. I had planned to do a surprise proposal for my now fiance and the responses I received were unhelpful and dry. Many responses were received such as "500 flat rate" or "not available". Well, Chris responded with a very thorough and inquiring message. He sent many many suggestions of places to propose at, what the area is like, what the staff is like ... man I can't name the countless details he has discussed with me. Point being, he went ABOVE AND BEYOND what nobody else would. I had a few places in mind to propose at, but these suggestions Christophe made were fantastic. I'm talking vast mountain views and intimate settings. Open vineyards as far as the eye can see where no one is around but just you and that special person. He has done us a 100/10 service in helping plan and set up the surprise engagement. Christophe is special to me in the way that he has made this whole process a comfortable and exciting one. I was very nervous throughout the whole process and due to some miscommunication, I was devastated but Chris cleared everything up for me and the other parties involved, and from there I knew he was a man with a good heart that only wants the best for his clients. In preparation of the surprise engagement, he gave very very thorough and specific details. Like, there's no way you can go wrong!! It was so comforting knowing step by step what I should do and how to help my fiance get the best shots without compromising the surprise in any way. In the end, my fiance was so happy about the whole engagement that we couldn't stop talking about Chris and the venue the whole ride back to our hotel. We seriously commend Christophe for his professionalism and attention to detail. If ever we return to the Napa area and need a photographer, we'll be hitting you up again Chris!! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
