One of the last places I'd ever expect to be referred to, but here we are. I was referred to Dr…read more Laptalo and I had all sorts of questions, mixed with a heavy dose of anxiety. Dr. Laptalo was kind, patient, empathetic, thorough, and provided lots of information (that pretty much answered all of my questions!). He set proper expectations, provided some case history on situations similar to my own, and invited me to call if I had questions or concerns in the future. Just THEE nicest man ever! My anxiety waned because I had such a great patient experience with Dr. Laptalo. Finally, what really did it for me, is when he shared that I had a good doctor for being through enough to refer me to his practice for additional care. To know I am in good hands times two, is very comforting. God Bless Dr. Laptalo, for demonstrating real humankindness in an otherwise stressful, uncertain situation.

I love this location! If you have to get chemo & radiation, this is where you want to go! I cannot say enough about how kind & welcoming they are!! They are awesome on the phone and in-person. They always call me back, answer all my questions (or find someone that can), and they really make you feel like family. It's made such a big difference in an otherwise bummer of a situation. The facility is new & super clean. They have special live music performances in the lobby sometimes, too! So awesome and uplifting! Thanks so much to the staff; you're doing an incredible job! :)

After more than 7 months waiting to be seen, I was only given a tele-health appointment with Dr…read more Virk. On the day of visit, a nurse calls me on the doctor's behalf to handle my care, stating that the doctor is "out." The nurse sent me to complete labs at Quest Diagnostics. After that, I simply received a short voicemail saying that they will follow up in 3 months, but never did. I had much better care near SoCal. Glad I took steps of my own to improve my health. I feel bad for people on Medi-Cal because Sierra Hematology is their only option.

I went to Sierra Hematology and Oncology because I often had a high white blood cell count. I've…read morebeen blood tested a lot, and no one really seems to know why, but leukemia and lymphoma have been ruled out. I went for a few years every ~6 months seeing Laurie Bresee. She took my health seriously. The wait times were never very long (I saw a review that suggested they were.) She strikes me as quite intelligent. She's not afraid to look things up in front of me, and she does it very quickly. Some people just pretend to know everything. They don't. People that will look things up, like side effects from the drugs you're taking, are the doctors you want to see. Everyone I interacted with was kind and competent. We never figured out what is causing my high white blood cell count. I ended up having to leave because I had to change PCPs, and that messes my insurance up for going to Sierra Hematology and Oncology. I think the worst case scenarios have been tested for, at least. I would recommend them to everyone but my enemies.
