WARNING ABOUT SHIPPING A VEHICLE WITH USHIP I want to share my experience so hopefully it does not happen to someone else. I booked a vehicle shipment through UShip. Once my vehicle was picked up, things immediately went wrong. My car disappeared and I had no real information about the company that picked it up. When I contacted UShip for help, I was told to stop calling and only communicate through email with their legal department and customer support. After that, no one returned my calls, no one provided answers, and no one helped locate my vehicle. To make things worse, whoever had the car disabled my OnStar, so I could no longer track where the vehicle was going. When I asked UShip for the transporter's information, they claimed they did not collect or verify basic information such as insurance, DOT numbers, or even proof of who the transporter actually was. In other words, someone can pick up your car through their platform and they may not even know who they really are. Another thing people need to understand is this: when you voluntarily give your car to a transporter, many police departments will not list it as stolen if the vehicle disappears. They often treat it as a civil contract dispute, meaning they say no crime has been committed and tell you that you must sue the company yourself. If that happens, you may never see your car again, and in many cases your insurance company will not pay the claim because it was never officially listed as stolen. In my situation, I was fortunate that one detective took the time to review all the evidence I had gathered. Based on the information I provided, he agreed that this was not simply a contract dispute and had the vehicle listed as stolen. After doing my own investigation and working with law enforcement, I was able to obtain historical OnStar location data showing where the vehicle had traveled. That information led police to an operation where vehicles were being loaded into shipping containers to be sent overseas. My car was found inside one of those containers, and law enforcement recovered around 30 stolen vehicles that were returned to their owners. If that detective had not taken the time to listen and list the vehicle as stolen, I likely would have never recovered my car and my insurance company would never have paid the claim. My advice: be extremely careful about who you trust to ship your vehicle. Make sure you know the transporter, their insurance, their DOT registration, and who is actually responsible for your car. Based on my experience, *using UShip can leave you completely unprotected if something goes wrong. read more

This is the first time we've shipped a car. The actual shipment seemed to go OK. However, UShip failed to communicate effectively and caused several problems. First, we were promised a two hour pre-pick up notice. Instead, our anniversary dinner was interrupted on a short notice. The driver was never informed that he was supposed to give us a two hour notice. At the receiving end, we didn't know that we were supposed to provide a completion code. We were traveling back home and in the middle of Wyoming. So we spent 45 minutes, trying to figure out where the code was. We would've had the code ready had we known. I know it is UShip's responsibility, but the driver should have told us as well. He's the one on the ground, dealing with the problem. Why not solve the problem before it begins? In the end, the car was delivered successfully. Our driver Te from Raptor did get the car to the delivery location, although he was later than what he told us he would be. ​ I had two wonderful experiences with uShip and I promoted their business to everyone I knew bragging about what a wonderful idea and what wonderful delivery engagements I had . Unfortunately it only takes one bad driver to ruin the whole concept and now I can no longer Trust a service like this that cannot monitor the behavior of their contractors .... My third experience was a nightmare . The first driver I hired for this shipment accepted the job but never showed up and never contacted me to tell me he wasn't coming. I lost 2 weeks which cost me business because I was shipping a medical device . I also had significant funds tied up for over 30 days and drama to get the refund . I replaced that driver with the new driver who was new and asked me to pay in full prior to picking up the shipment . I engaged you ship customer service who stepped in to clarify their policies and we both continued in agreement . Unfortunately when the delivery came the passenger that was with him attacked me at night in front of my office while the guys were carrying this stuff in , screaming and yelling at me for things that never happened and we're not remotely true. I tried to correct her and say I think you have the wrong person but instead she wrote a fraudulent review about my business on Google . From now on , unfortunately we will have to depend on the manufacturers for delivery drivers that have consequences versus hired subcontractors . This is similar with Uber , that is great and convenient until you get one bad one and a nightmare story . Unfortunately with my personal life and my business I cannot afford the risk . You should customer service was not available in the evening during the delivery and the verbal attack so there was no one to help me feel safe during the delivery . I will also remove this post if you ship is able to do anything to rectify the situation . Unfortunately I'm now paid a lot of money for a terrible experience . read more

I used uShip for the first time and my experience with the driver was great. My item was delivered on time and in excellent shape. It is with uShip I have an issue that I want to make potential customers aware of. I initially agreed to insurance provided by uShip, however, when I saw what it involved, I was unable to fulfill the requirements and decided not to use it prior to pickup. I contacted uShip right away to ask them to delete the insurance part of the agreement. I spoke to someone live and they said I would have to contact Support, which I did. They said I had to wait till the payment went through to get a refund. NOT THE CASE -- once the payment goes through, there is no way of refunding the questioned charge! So BEWARE, when using this company. They are not clear on policy, and I am out $82.81 for nothing. read more

I made the mistake of giving them a second chance after they damaged a shipment last year and tried to underpay the claim (said I had underinsured it, when I had proof that I had full coverage) This time, half the shipment was lost in transit. Not only has it taken 3 months to get any sort of offer from them, but they want to deduct a $750 "processing fee", and are giving zero refund on the shipping. There is an online Company called "Uship." On their website, it says "Ship With Confidence Guarantee." What they do, is they list thousands of third party providers (shipping companies), who will offer bids on the items that Consumers need shipped, from Antiques, to cars, to household items, long or short distances. It says it will automatically compensate you for up to $500 in the case of damage or loss. It also advertises "all risk protection," and "faster reimbursements." I offered a listing of 2 Antique Church Windows that I purchased online, that were located in Athens, TN. I accepted bids through Uship for a shipper to carry them to me in Trinity, NC. I paid $525 for the windows and I have a receipt. I purchased $50 worth of insurance on Uship, to cover my $500 item that I listed to ship. Apparently Uship claims to insure items up to $500 anyway, so was my $50 of insurance I purchased to help me regain an additional $500 if lost, stolen or damaged? If not, why was I not informed the $50 was not necessary? That was very unclear. I have shipped other items before using Uship, and luckily had no problems. I accepted a bid from a Stevia Franko for $290 to bring my church windows from Athens, TN to me in NC. I was charged a $27.90 service fee by Uship, and $50 for the Insurance, making my total bill $367.90 The way it works, is the consumer receiving the shipment should only release the payment once the items are delivered. The Shipper very quickly began to show signs of negligence and dishonesty. I gave her to contact name & number of where to pick up the windows. She rescheduled approximately 4 times, and I decided I was going to cancel the shipper and try a different one. Before I could get to the computer to cancel, the shipper picked up the items, and while they were in her possession, she asked me to release the payment before they were delivered. She said she didn't have gas money to deliver the windows. This was very alarming. I refused to release the payment. She wound somehow in Nashville, TN with my windows, and said she could not deliver them after all. Luckily I had a friend in Nashville, who I was able to persuade her to drop them off with. My windows are now 3 hours farther away from me than they were before, and in my friend's way, as they are being kept in his garage and are very fragile. I have placed another listing for the window delivery on the site, not knowing any other way to get them here. It will certainly cost more than the $290 I agreed to pay for delivery now that they are 3 hours father away. The bids I am seeing online now to bring my window from Nashville, TN to Trinity, NC are almost $800! Uship refunded me $317.90, but they won't refund me the difference I will have to pay to get them here now, which is looking like it will be around $500. They won't pay me any of the $500 they claim I paid to insure this shipment, or any of the $500 they claim to automatically offer with every shipment. Instead they gave me a "credit" of $50 to use their site again. I have reached out to Uship to inquire as to whether the $50 credit would include another insurance policy on another shipment, or if I would have to pay an additional $50 to insure the next shipment, when it already says they guarantee every shipment up to $500 automatically. They said the $50 credit is only for their "service fee," so if I have to ship using them again, I now have to pay them an additional $50 which I will never see again. I would not have purchased the windows if I had known this could even happen. I would not have used Uship, had I known they would not refund me the entire amount, or even for the difference it will now cost. Their practices are deceptive, and the average consumer cannot know that they are deceptive. Their policies are fraudulent. Uship should not offer words on their site like "We help you ship with confidence," and words like "All Risk Protection." All risk should be all risk. Even when a shipper goes awol for two days, and delivers an item father away than they were to begin with, leaving me to find another way to get my shipment to me. Instead of faster reimbursements as they offer, I was given none. Only a credit, so essentially I paid a Company $50 to make my delivery harder to get, and I will lose more money as it will cost more to get them delivered now. read more

Uship mover delivered our badly damaged goods to a private local company asking them to repair them deliver then skipped town and failed to document or respond. Insurance was completely bunk -- asked for a purchase receipt for an antique before they would reimburse. They did not accept the bid for repair from reputable repair company. The company uShip is set up to point fingers and place blame elsewhere. Do not use this company. read more

This was a mistake. I hired a house mover from this company and didn't know what I was getting. You have to pay up front, without speaking to the movers. Once you pay 1350.00 and $100.00 for using the service, you can get the movers info. I thought I was getting professional movers. A man showed up with a small rented truck, then a young guy and girl showed up a little later. They had to pack this small truck up tight. It took 3 trips, resulting in damage to the washer, box spring, picture frames, dining chairs. Some stuff was covered lots not. If you value your belongings go a different route. read more

They will send you a cheap quote but if you use them they will find a way to charge your card on file hundreds of dollars MONTHS afterward without informing you that they are doing so. I noticed a $108 charge on my statement nearly 3 months after using USHIp to ship a large tub. I called and asked why and they gave me a bogus reason and flat out lied when I questioned them. AGAIN, DO NOT EVER USE USHIP to SHIP ANY THING unless you like paying more and being treated like a criminal when you confront them.
