Went to Verizon on 9/13 to put my line on my fiancées plan, and order our new phones for this…read morecoming Friday. Chad was assisting us and he was less than helpful. After getting my line transferred to my fiancées plan, I had a question about being able to access my plan and he only said "you can do it through the app" and did not explain the time period required to be able to do this. He even said at one point "I have terrible customer service skills" which was proved to be true. When Chad began assessing my phone for trade in, he asked me quite frankly "are you going to be able to pay this off when you come in for your new phone or not" which I then replied that a different customer service representative had already told me that my camera being damaged did not affect trade in. So therefore I asked him if I was going to have to pay my phone off to get a new one to which he replied "that's above me, it will be on your bill, and then you will have to deal with customer service". My fiancée went back into the store on 9/16 to ask a different employee and they seemed confused on why Chad would even tell me that in the first place, because my phone is in fact good for trade in. In general, Chad was not eager to help us, did not effectively explain details of our plans to us, and was dismissive when I wanted to ask questions.

Glad to support a local business, especially now. I read some of the negative reviews and people need to understand this is not an actual Verizon store. It is BeMobile, a licensed Verizon retailer. There is a difference. But as for Be Mobile, it was awesome!

Event date: 8/19/24, around 3:15pm-3:50pm…read more Hello, I was called to translate for one of your employees today and was appalled at their service. I hope you will take quick action to make sure this never happens again. Here is a summary: A Spanish-speaking gentleman came to the Verizon store to pay his bill in cash. According to the female employee, she "explained to him" that she could not find his account, but also told him she would take the cash anyway. In addition, apparently, she told him that if she took his cash, it could not be refunded. Clearly, the Spanish-speaker didn't understand the interaction. Once he realized there was no receipt or that his account balance hadn't decreased, he asked for a refund. The employee would not refund his $50. This is when I was called by a bystander to translate (who will be closing her account with you after this incident). Also, I did not personally know the Spanish-speaker. I spoke directly with the Verizon employee and attempted to ask the following clarification questions: Why did you take the money if there was no account? Under what account number did you credit the $50? Why can't you give the money back? Can I speak with someone above you? Now that there is confusion, do you understand that there is a language barrier? It was very difficult to get through these questions because your employee was constantly speaking over and interrupting me, did not value my translation services, was hostile and disrespectful, and disregarded his English proficiency. Then, she forced the bystander who called me AND the Spanish-speaker to leave by threatening to call the police. Once I realized that the Verizon employee could just pocket the money since there was no record or account, I questioned where the money would go. Finally, after bystanders took charge and stood up for him, the client was refunded as he departed. This location needs anti-racism education and training on customer service and how to open a register to refund cash.

Their associates are dismissive and unprofessional. They do not take the time to assist customers. I bought a phone at this location a couple of years ago and the Rep was rude and would not take the time to show me the phone's features. The only reason I returned to the Onalaska store for my next phone was because I needed a replacement phone for a trip out of town and Onalaska was the only local store that had the phone I wanted in stock. Once again, the associate would not take the time to answer my questions about the functionality and features of the phone. Onalaska does not transfer your data and apps from your previous phone to your new phone without a fee, whereas other locations transfer your data for free. If you want to purchase a Verizon phone, buy it from the Holmen or La Crosse locations. The Reps at these stores are more cordial, knowledgeable and provide a far superior customer experience.
