Flo-Dell contacted us after a hail storm to offer an assessment and to re-roof our house and pool house. They came in and let us know there was "hail damage" and we could put a claim into our insurance and get our roof redone, it would "last 20 years" (our roofs were 7 years old and had been solid throughout). We agreed and had the roofs redone. A year later, during a very hard rain, our roof started to leak around the chimney into our living room. I called Flo-dell, they came out to look it over and told us our chimney needed to be repointed. We repointed our chimney, the roof still leaks during heavy rains and now we have all sorts of ceiling and drywall damage around the chimney and down one wall in our living room. Our pool house roof leaks as well during rain storms. While they were doing the work, they broke our weathervane, and the copper flashing around the edge of the house was poorly done so pieces do not align - it looks terrible. Do not hire flo-dell. We have to now take out another roofing claim with our insurance and have it all redone by another roofing company, plus get our ceiling and living room walls redone and fix the damage inside our pool house.

After aimlessly walking around my house for 2 hours they ended up replacing one fuse and told me they couldn't do the other 3 jobs. They then charged $516 for replacing the fuse. Stay clear of these people. They sent two workers who appeared to be kids right out of trade school. Clueless and just quoted price out of a binder. They spent the rest of the time trying to sell me a replacement electric panel for $10,000. The worst experience I have ever had with a contractor! P.S. I asked for an invoice and they refused to provide one.

I would NOT recommend this company. I hired them to insulate a former carriage house loft, built in…read more1900, that had original antique beams with that great, old patina. An insulation team was sent out, and they never wrapped the beams! They overblew the insulation all over the beams, therefore creating another job in the process. My contractor quoted $2700 to sand, stain, and fix their blunders. They skimped and gave me $2200. The $500 difference is more expensive for me, than for them. It was their men that messed up, and now I have to fix their error and hire the contractor again to restore their errors, on antique beams! I paid much more than $2200 for their insulation job. I never made them wait for my money. I will say that their salesman who I dealt with, was a good guy. Beyond that...they clearly do not believe in going the extra mile for customer happiness and satisfaction. Very disappointed. Over $500!! Their own guy who came to look at it after even said it was bad! He had to walk away because he couldn't fix the mess.

In addition, my husband and I had a little bit of an emergency situation on our hands due to an impending heat wave, and needed to figure out a solve for our problem quickly. (This I know, was our bad in not preparing better. We take full responsibility!) I put out a request on Yelp on a Wednesday afternoon to all listed handyperson services and emailed another 6 or so companies listed on Google. Most of companies I pinged did not respond at all, and the smattering that did said they were booked through October. Thank my lucky stars, though, Joe called me back within the hour and said he'd come by between 4:30 and 5pm to take a look-WHICH HE DID! Off to a good start and it just kept getting better! I walked him through the challenge at hand: we needed to install an air conditioner in our garage, but we only had one janky window to work with that didn't fit the most narrow window unit, a standup unit didn't cool the space, and we didn't really want to lose use of the window entirely. Joe jumped right in and suggested a quick, flexible, and affordable solution: build an insulated window box so we can easily install and remove the AC seasonally and maintain the insulation that we need during the colder months. Genius! Not only was his idea a good one that checked all boxes, he presented his ideas clearly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and didn't pander to my very unimpressive knowledge of construction in general. Joe sent me an estimate via email the next morning, I approved it immediately, he showed up to do the work that very afternoon, and he was finished with the work by 5pm! MAGIC. It was a freezing cold day and we were in danger of the pipes freezing. I started calling around different company's and they were able to have someone out to the building in 3 hours. That was it. Customer for life here. The girls in the office are so nice and helpful. Steve has been out a few times and he explains everything to me so I know exactly what home is fixing. This week I had a problem with one unit not having heat. I called and was told no problem, we will be there by 3. This was about 11 am, well Jeremy was there before 2. Fixed us up and was gone in no time. He has done several repairs for us over the years, and does our yearly boiler cleaning. We had some masonry work done in the boiler room over the summer. After Jeremy cleaned the boiler in September he swept and cleaned up the mess the masonry guy left behind. I could not believe it. I hadn't cleaned it because, well it's a boiler room, who cares. Lol. He went above and beyond as he always does. I highly recommend this company. Customer service goes far in my book, and they nail it every time!
