The space itself is very inclusive and they take anti-discrimination seriously. Pre-Covid they weren't the most attentive to cleanliness and sometimes ran out of cleaner and paper towels in the gym but that changed during Covid and they are extremely safe and strict on that and mask wearing. Gendered locker rooms, and nice showers with expensive amenities (shampoo/soaps/air fresheners). They also have a refrigerator and a common working space which was a bit utilitarian (read: the seats are uncomfortable), but hey, it existed. Plenty of parking in front and behind the building (closer to Bear's Smokehouse, even though it's a bit of a walk). Staff is friendly, but you may find that many of the people mentioned in these reviews are no longer at DAC. I would come during off peak hours and would be able to mess with the rack (two) or treadmills if I was into that. They have also have two peloton bikes that use the LOOK Delta clips so if you have SPDs, sorry. They also have a TRX machine, but I think you need a trainer with that one. I didn't love it enough to renew my membership because the fitness center is a bit small and completely got mobbed during peak hours pre COVID, but I felt like it offered a better value than similar fitness center style clubs in the area.

OK, I should update my review, since it's from over 3 years ago! I don't know what they charge now…read morefor membership, FYI. So don't quote me on that price from a while back. I go to this gym a few times a week and I still enjoy it. I think one thing that intimidates people about joining a gym is that they're a little afraid of the other people there. People seem to be afraid of being judged for their level of fitness, etc. Everyone on the staff is really, really nice. You will see people of all shapes, sizes, and ages working out here. Of course in the weight room you're going to see those big, muscular guys. Sometimes they grunt when they're lifting heavy stuff, and it can seem intimidating to be working out near them. But as someone who started lifting weights last year, I can tell you that those guys are really, really nice. Everyone will leave you alone to work out, but if you need any help or have any questions about how to do something, go ahead and ask one of those guys if you can't find a trainer. They're way more than happy to answer questions. They're very friendly. And the smoothies are great. :)

Try to overlook the patched sidewalk and tired interior and focus on the beautiful aqua water and friendly staff. This club features Silver sneakers classes and is a good gym for seniors. My hope is that with increased membership, the new managers will spruce the place up.

Had an awful experience. The music played between chukkers is so loud it is literally painful. We could not carry on a conversation - it was that loud. At least one family left and asked for their money back. The national anthem was played a an excruciating level. I saw several people putting their fingers in their ears. I and several other people asked them to turn the music down and they did for a minute or two then turned it right back up. Finally I got the owner's daughter to intervene and for the second half of the match the music was at a tolerable level. Frankly, I don't see why they need the music at all. this is a beautiful place and when the music was off it was delightful. I will not go back unless and until I am assured this will not happen again.

Jerry, and the rest of his team took notice of what I could and could not do and pushed me to my limits. The Northstar team is very professional, while also being friendly. It is a fun environment with music playing as they train you. They have every ball imaginable and two basketball hoops in the facility. The best way to describe a workout is that they work many different muscles. At one point I was on the treadmills, then on an erg machine, then lifted light weights for reps that worked my back and finished it off with some plate pushes. They also offer a shake for once you are done with the class. Shakes cost $4, strawberry was awesome.
