Also, you don't have to stand in line forever. In addition, if the need arises to call, the pharmacist is always available to assist & advise right there and then without delay. In addition this pharmacy will even call to let you know if there is a copay (at least for me they do...) I live 6.7 miles away and Yes, if requested, they deliver on one (!) of their 2 weekly delivery days. This service is free of charge, and even the delivery man is an absolute pleasure. Surprise him by saying : "VIELEN DANK" and you'll have a friend for life...lol .

I've lived in Dunnellon for five years and I now only used Walgreens. Dunnellon is a small town. As a result, There are are a limited number of places to get prescriptions filled. (Walgreens, Walmart across the street, and Publix and Winn Dixie down the street. All are within minutes of one another. Walgreens is the only one (that I know of) that has a drive though. ALL of them are going to have some kind of wait ESPECIALLY if you (1) come during peak hours (2) call a prescription in that same day and expect it to be ready in less than an hour if it's at peak hours or (3) You have luck like me and are bound to get caught behind someone who has an issue with their insurance or other problem with their prescription that ties up the line for everyone else. To remedy this, I (1) don't go during peak hours, (2) I don't wait to the last minute or until I'm on my last dose to get a prescription, (that way if I see that there may be a long wait, I'll come back on another day or time) and (3) if I got there and see that there are already a bajillion people waiting and I choose to wait, I make sure that I have enough battery on my phone to play whatever game I'm playing or to challenge a new person to Words with friends or something else to make the time pass. I have really had only one slightly grumpy pharmacist. She wasn't directly rude to me, but you could tell that she was just "done" with the BS for the day. I was in the the drive though and the lady in front of me trying to get her prescription filled was cursing at the pharmacy tech so loud that I could hear it with my WINDOWS UP. Goodness. And from what I gathered it was because she'd made repeated returns to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that sounded like her doctor failed to fax in. I Told you the person was loud. She even had them call her doctor while she was in the drive thru and the pharmacy tech kept checking and it hadn't arrived. So she was essentially cursing out the tech over something that the tech couldn't control.) For the most part the technicians have been nice. I take Advair. Even with insurance it's at least $50/month. One tech saw the price, gave me a website where I got some kind of code that i gave to them, she applied the code and my Advair was reduced to $10. My doctor had even told me this. Most techs are friendly. They are as busy as a cat burying poop, but they are still polite. So overall, I'm not saying that pharmacy is perfect. You WILL encounter some wait time if you come at a peak time, but overall I've had much better service and people here than elsewhere. (I use Walgreens but I've had to pick up meds for family at other pharmacies in Dunnellon. Those places weren't particularly awful either, but I prefer the convenience of a drive though.

The same Dr sent over my prescription . Catherine told me I need to call my insurance company to get this resolved . Shame on you Walgreens I'm Dunnellon , you won't see me as a customer anymore . I will drive the extra mile to get my prescriptions from now on ! Also my insurance company called you and said that my husband didn't want to wait for the authorization for the medication which was a lie but you know what liars go to hell and Karma will take care of you

This modern day version adds on a prescription dept. and a post office. The only thing it's missing is the old photo booth you would find in a five & dime store. Can you tell I love it here? Everything you need to shop for is in one place. Greeting cards, purses, medical aids, cosmetics, pet items, household supplies & even a few food items. They even sell scratch off lottery tickets. There's a number of decorative & collectible departments such as Native American, Coca Cola, John Deere & Wizard of Oz collectibles. Some I'm thinking might be for tourists. The lunch counter is actually part of "The Restaurant" built inside which also has booths to dine in.

So, I am 70 years old, about what most shoppers are in the Villages, while the cashiers are in their 20s or 30s...what's the point of having a cashier if the customer has to lift the items...isnt that what the self check out is for? I told management I was shocked that a 25 year old told me they wouldnt lift up my items...they couldnt care less....they fed me some word salad (which i took to mean "I"M not lifting up your purchases" The 2nd star, is just cause its Costco and its hard to beat, but i'll be going to my regular Costco, (not this one) as long as they treat seniors making 500 lb purchases worth nearly $1000 with some customer service acumen......AND i will slowly wean myself from buying (LARGE) expensive items there, too....
