Mine was not a typical case, thanks to an inexperience law enforcement officer. The Officer chose to ignore my eyewitness, who was sitting on his front porch and witnessed the entire accident. In the witness statement to the Officer, he stated that I had stopped at the stop sign and that the other driver was driving at a high rate of speed. Despite the third-party witness statement, the Officer showed up at the hospital and sighted me for running a stop sign. I was able to get the ticket overturned, with Doug assistance. Then we took on the other driver's insurance company and settled with them and then finally we took on my insurance, which was the real battle since they also chose to ignore the third-party eyewitness and paid out the other driver.
