Macungie has been my post office for over 50 years and it has gone down hill, really down hill. I order also for my company in Breinigsville and saw the package was attempted to be delivered but they needed a code to enter the building. The front office door lobby is always opened and they could have left the package in the lobby, they didn't need to have access to deliver actually inside the office. When my GM went to pick up the package the next day at the post office they told him they didn't have it. Called the Breinigsville post and Tom was very friendly and said the package was there, however it was transferred to Macungie. 3 days later still trying to track down the package. I already sent an message to the post master in Washington last year when they lost my new phone and couldn't be delivered to my house. read more

Came 15 prior to passport time. Over 5 people in line. No one able to answer questions in lobby how long of wait. Had to take neurodivergent child outside. When able to call and get through - they cancelled my appointment. Rude on phone and unhelpful. Did not acknowledge they were running behind and late. read more

This morning, I brought a package to this post office. There were no customers in the lobby, and no clerk behind the desk. I waited. A few minutes later, a young woman walked into the lobby, and instead of getting in line behind me, stood off to the side. When a clerk appeared, she rushed up to the window. I said, loudly "Wait a minute, I was here first." The woman started talking, in a heavy Chinese accent, directed at the clerk. The clerk served her first. What a disgrace. Not only was the behavior of the customer outrageous, but that of the clerk was equally bad. I've lived in Macungie for 20 years now and can't think of one nice thing to say about this post office. Whenever I'm there to drop off a package I feel like I'm bothering the employees. I think, maybe, I've gotten a grunt or two in place of a "hello" on occasion. There is one woman in particular who is quite the... use your imagination and pick a derogatory word of your choice. Maybe they could hire employees for the front desk that actually have some people skills. And, there was a time when we'd get everyone else's mail but our own. But, surprisingly, I'd take that over the rude clerks because our mail carriers at least seem pleasant. read more

Refuses to hold mail for people because "it takes too much time to sort through" even though they had been doing it with no problem for about 6 months for me thus far and USPS even offers it as a service option online in their portal. They change their mind depending on who you talk to and some of them seem aggravated when they have to provide real "customer service." The guy in charge, Howard I think, is fantastic though - I wish they were all like him. The rest don't seem to want to do their job. If anyone wonders why the USPS has such a terrible reputation for customer service, this is it. read more

I have never had so many problems sending a package to South Carolina I went to the macungie post office The woman there asked me three times the address where it was going she looked at the package that's where it's going yes she transposed each one on her computer screen and put the address that it was going to as the return address and the address that I was sending it from as the ship to address few days later I got the box back and took it to the Whitehall post office the lady there was laughing at what happened and she proceeded to send it out again to South Carolina the box left the Lehigh valley and went to Philadelphia and Philadelphia interns sent it back to Lehigh valley again it will be delivered to my office on Monday which is so funny because it was supposed to be going to South Carolina I don't know what their problem is but nobody in the post office seems to be knowing what to do with boxes and packages it's a one day they know how to send out any mail I don't know what the deal is the box is marked correctly on the top left-hand corner is the is my address where it is shipping from in the middle of the box is the address where it is shipping to there seems to be such a problem with this and I've paid so much money now to send this box out more than once so now I'm going to get it back and I'm going to ship it FedEx because let's see if they know what they're doing. read more

Howard is an amazing post office employee!!!! He helped track down my packages and I spent multiple times on the phone with him! He was diligent and n finding my packages as well as kind enough to call me back to let me know they were delivered!!! In a time when people are so selfish and try to do the LEAST amount of work it's REFRESHING to have someone who is honest and takes pride in their job and will go above and beyond!!! Truly a Gem!!! TERRIBLE POST OFFICE!!! These lazy delivery drivers think they can choose whether to do their jobs or not. YOUR JOB IS TO DELIVER MAIL!!!!! I have lived in many states and NEVER had such crappy service form the post office-EVER!! If you have to step literally halfway-ONE STEP- out of your vehicle to reach the mailbox to do your job THEN DO IT!!!! Last time they get a Christmas gift from this family!!!! TERRIBLE!!!! Just another example of how this PO is so poorly operated: About a month ago, a tattered sign appeared on the left-hand main entrance, "Please Use Other Door Today." I assume this was because it was a windy day. However in the days and weeks to follow, this sign has remained, and the door remains locked. I look at a Post Office as a place of community pride. It should say to anyone from out of town, "This is our home." Not to mention the inconvenience of not having both doors functional. If the door is broken, fix it. If not, then get rid of that shabby sign and make the place at least appear welcoming. Oh, and BTW, the lines and late mail in the boxes remains unchanged as well. read more

Received a "sorry we missed you" form in the mail 3 days ago. This form was completely blank with only a tracking number. The number could not be found online so I decided to go to the post office. The lady at the front desk said "it must be a mistake since it is empty". I proceeded to tell her I am waiting on multiple gifts due to Christmas being around the corner. So she asked the specific mail carrier for our route. The mail carrier said "oh I wanted you to sign this and bring it back so I can deliver it". Uncomfortable and confused I proceeded to explain it is uncomfortable not knowing what I should be expecting, I was not allowed to get it then and there, and have YET to receive it. I kept the other half of the document and took pictures of what was given to them. But if I couldn't find the tracking number online, I doubt I can report it through USPS (I am still going to try). Overall you can tell their professionalism and sympathy towards others is lacking tremendously. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. Mail is always LATE, packages never arrive on time, or are scheduled as being delivered, but they are not, keys are left in package lockers with PACAGES INSIDE, where they could easily be stolen, locks are stuck on some lockers so that you can't REMOVE you packages when and if they DO happen to arrive, and on and on and on. Very sad to say this is the worst experience I have ever had with the postal service. I moved here five years ago, and it's gotten progressively worse. read more

Just visited this location inquiring about a post office box. I just relocated to here from California due to job transfer so currently living with family until get a place. I told Agent, Jackie I didn't want mail going to family house so inquiring on P.O. Box. Although she didn't seem to know much, she was very helpful and answered my questions to the best of her abilities but the robust lady next to her was blatantly rude and unprofessional. Half ass answering my questions, speaking fast n giving short answers and asking Jackie for stamps for another customer cutting our conversation short. Very tacky service. I give 0 stars for unprofessionalism and bad customer service. read more

The worst. Total of 5 missing packages this holiday season scanned as delivered although not. Appears scan documentation can be falsified, because a package scanned as delivered on Dec. 4 was actually delivered on Dec. 12. This delivery scan indicated it was delivered to the front porch at 10:36, yet I passed the mail truck while returning home to note this package was delivered to my mailbox at 4:08. I routinely get neighbors' mail. Also, they rarely follow the hold mail instructions when I am out of town, returning home to find mail in my mailbox, or else they dont resume delivery when instructed. Trouble in paradise! The past 2 months have found our street with erratic mail delivery at best, NO delivery at its most recent worst! Worst post office ever. This is the place you hear about on the news. I'm not talking about late deliveries, that is understandable during busy times. I'm talking about deliveries never being delivered. The carriers simply lie and say they attempted to deliver the package but "no suitable delivery location was available". It doesn't matter if you are home or not, they simply don't even make an attempt. I have not had mail delivered to my home in over a week and have had to go to the office to pick up packages. This office is a stereotype of everything wrong with Government. Never have a problem with deliveries from UPS or FedEx (unless they hand off the package to USPS). This used to be my local branch. They are friendly enough and normally well staffed enough that the lines aren't too bad. The parking lot is large enough to handle the rush times. Our mail carrier who was based out of this office was friendly & never had a problem hand delivering my boxes to my door instead of all the way down at the rental office. It's not Nordstrom quality service, but for the USPS, I was pretty happy. read more

I sent priority package internationally through this branch and I declared a powerbank in the customs form as one of the items in the package. This branch processed my package and when asked if I had hazardous materials, i said no because I never thought a USB powerbank is hazardous. I also remember asking if they consider this hazardous and I guess the answer is NOT because they process this package anyway.. they asked for $100.00 for total shipment cost which I paid. Now my package is sitting in my living room because it was "return to sender" due to a hazardous material = powerbank. I asked for a refund or a partial discount for a resend but they said since I answered "No" to the hazardous material question, then there is no refund.. so my guess is, if I send Combustible Liquids and declared it and I said no hazardous material, they will list down the Combustible Liquids in the customs form and continue processing my package? read more
