Well I have to admit I really like those small town post office. This place did not disappoint. Although Mesa or La Mesa as it is called is a teeny tiny town here in New Mexico just south of Las Cruces I found it to be one of those places where you could probably get all the news about town if you just talked to the lady behind the counter who was most probably the postmaster of Lamesa. I had one small package I needed to mail that did not get out the door before we left home so so I said to my wife lets to pull over at the next post office because we had just gone by one and there it was a few miles later. Everyone was polite and helpful and so nice really. She even had a restaurant recommendation and guess what I thought that was just the icing on the cake for very nice. She checked my sloppy handwriting and told me the machine would be able to read it and told me a little bit about how things get sorted and fixed in those automatic machines and I just said well that's above and beyond one more time.
