using the Groton MA Post Office gives one a chance to experience the rudest, slowest and most useless customer service this side of the Moon. Yesterday a bank statement was left on the trash can in my driveway, under a package left there as well. I've seen our sloppily dresses postal carrier literally drop a package out of her truck onto the ground. she also left another package behind my car, which I almost ran over. Yesterday I finally called to complain, esp. since a piece of mail with financial information was left on my trash can. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jason, who, as the new Postmaster treated me rudely and implied that I was lying. I was told that carriers are not obligated to drive up li one driveways to deliver mail. if it's icy, I understand, but Postmaster Jason made it clear that the Post Office is doing me a favor by delivering any packages to my house. Another delight that happens regularly is that I receive mail for people who don't even live on my street, and usually deliver it to them personally. In summary, if I had to choose between placing my hand on a searing hot stove burner, or deal with the Groton Post Office in ANY CAPACITY, I would choose the searing hot stove. read more

They flat out refuse to actually deliver any packages i get in the mail. Unless they can forcefully jam it into the mailbox. otherwise they cant be bothered to walk 10ft to the door and drop the package off. read more

15 years of terrible. I have been dealing with this post office for nearly a decade and a half, and only gets worse with time. This post office will: -treat you like dirt for walking in the door -overcharge you for postage due, treat you like an idiot a-hole when you ask why, then when you discover THEY are wrong, the post master "hems" and "haws" about a refund -scheduled package pickups missed -lie to you about package weight. I've gone in with prepaid packages, been told I have to repay ALL postage because their scale says something different. But then when I take the same package to a different post office, the weight is correct -packages are opened, damaged, or go missing. I will say that informed delivery seems to have cut down on this a bit, as it points out this post office is the one mistreating packages -there is at least one very nice person that understands customer service that used to run the west Groton post office, but the rest are all rotten. Go to Shirley if you want to be treated like a human being / customer rather than gum on their shoe. read more

I had no issues with this post office until just yesterday. I had scheduled for a redelivery of a package because they were not able to get to my door monday, march 4th 2019, I understand there was snow from the storm but has since been plowed by 3:36pm. It stopped snowing before delivery was even out. Then they notified me that they could not deliver a package. After scheduling my package for redelivery for today March 5th, it was confirmed it would go out today, but then I received another notice saying that it wouldn't be delivered today but on March 7th! I decided to call them to see what was the problem, they placed me on hold multiple times, once I was off hold, I was told to be quick because she was the only one working the window. When I asked what happened to my mail, she advised me "Your mailman called out sick and no one wanted to take any mail schedule on March 4th for your route." I told her of the redelivery request, and she went to look for the package and even asked another employee if they saw it. She then said," If it is in the carrier today for delivery you should get it today. IDK why your tracker says that." She then re-iterated that my mailman called out and that it was "a whole other story". She then continued to rush me off the phone saying she was "the only one working the window and it's busy and I can't be on the phone with you any longer. You should be getting your package today." I still haven't received my package and my tracker still says it's due Thursday March 7th by 8pm. I'm concerned where my package is as they had trouble finding it when I called! Terrible customer service and complaining about other employees was not necessary. read more

Left mail kiosk door panel open more than once, boxes left at wrong unit, delivered mail after a hold when I specifically indicated I would pick up. Now dealing with a change of address placed 8 days ago and still receiving mail at old address. Worst post office ever. They can't seem to get anything right. On hold now on the phone. They waste my time and make me happy to be leaving West Groton. read more

I have lived in many places and this is by far the worst service I have ever had in my life. I've had my package left in a snow bank and knocked down the neighbors hill by a plow or not delivered at all when stated as out for delivery. I understand the days when my driveway is icy which has happened many times this year but yesterday was just rain. I had to check Amazon tracking to see what happened and it is listed as front door inaccessible. If it was over a puddle what ever happened to a second attempt the following day? If we have to wait for that card to be filled out that is 2 additional days. Yesterday was probably not my regular carrier since it was a Sunday so this time is not on him. I'm praying for the day of drone deliveries so I don't have to deal with this anymore. I will spend whatever is needed to remove trees and build a landing pad. Many times I actually pay more to use a different carrier which should tell you something. Also many times I have had tracking state I wasn't home as I watched the carrier drive by and just stop at my mailbox. If they never knock on the door regardless how would they know if I wasn't home? I have went as far now as buying a Ring doorbell to detect motion and placed a camera on my mailbox to prove this is happening. FYI the Ring doorbell was also not delivered and I had to drive to the post office to pick it up. read more

Even when weather is not an issue, the staff of this post office will always take the path of least resistance and minimal service, as if to hasten their own extinction at the hands of carriers who do care. When they deliver on behalf of FedEx or UPS, they place the packages just inside my gate---an easy 50 feet from my house. You're better off training a turtle to deliver your mail for you. read more

I agree with the other review, WORST post office EVER!! Not only are the people working in the post office rude, but the woman that delivers my mail is horrible! I can't tell you how many packages never reach our doorstep on the day they are suppose to. If there is as much of a flake of snow on our driveway she won't drive up it to deliver a package. (Great excuse for laziness). It has happened endless times around Christmas and now again this month. I call to ask if they can hold my package for me to pick it up and they can't even do that!
