I have a customer who orders multiple items at one time that require me to box them and take them to the post office. Today I went to the Chesterfield post office with 40 small boxes and was told I could only have 10 of them at one time handled by the woman behind the counter and then I would have to go back in line and have 10 more done. Then get back in line again and again. I have never been told this before at any post office and I have been mailing these boxes for many years . Today, the female employee who was assisting me, and I use that word, assisting loosely, started out by making a face when I told her the boxes weren't already marked with postage. That's when she informed me that she could only handle 10 of them because @it's a busy post office".. There was no one in line behind me when she started and 3 customers waiting when she finished. When she did finish, they were 3 emojis that came up on the screen - a smiley face, a frowny face and an indifferent face. Before I could react, she tapped on the smiley face and went onto the page where she needed my credit card. She thought I didn't see her do that I remarked that if I wanted to give her a good review, I would've done that myself. The lack of good service at this post office was stunning. I went to the Ballwin post office Saturday and they took all my boxes!! They couldn't believe how badly I was treated at the Chesterfield branch. read more

Great location. As a new resident I had to change my address and verify it was me so I came in with an id and being new I was looking around because I was impressed by how big the location was. The lady in the front with an attitude asks what she can help me with. So I rushed from looking at the greeting cards to the front desk. She asked for my id and helped me out but you could tell she didn't want to be there. read more

Mail, hold delivery was to be a specified date period it is now the sixth phone call to the post office to get my held mail delivered. The service requested was promised multiple times multiple people, and it still remains an issue. What does one need to do to get their mail delivered? Totally unacceptable. I went here the other day to drop off a package of clothes to return. The layout was interesting, there were a couple people ahead of me but the line moved VERY quickly. I have to say that most post offices atmospheres, from my experience, haven't been the best, but there was a woman who helped me that was so cheerful and delightful. I wish I got her name, but she was so nice. And it's little interactions like that while running errands that just make your day. I live in Brentwood, but actually don't mind driving all the way out to chesterfield for the great customer service. read more

I had a certified mail received at the Chesterfield USPS location and was told it will be delivered the next business day. Fast forward 13 days after, the tracking still says received in Chesterfield (not yet delivered), and no one knew where the mail was. All I was told was to file a claim and re-send the letter (if I still have a copy of it). Lesson learned, don't use this office for important mails / packages. read more

The delivery men for USPS cannot do their job to save their lives. They are constantly delivering my packages to the complete wrong homes. Or they are lying and claiming they can't "access the residence". My mailbox is on the side of the MAIN road. It's pathetic truly. I'm a big supporter of government services and feel it needs to stay with the government and not privatized. But today's experience at the Chesterfield post office made me wonder if I have been wrong all along! I waited for nearly 30 minutes in line only to be told that I had to redo everything because I wrote the "From" address in the lower left corner of the package and it should have been on the top left! I had the "Deliver To" in the dead center in huge ALL CAPS so the "From" was hardly even visible. So basically he's implying that he and his co-workers are so dumb that they cannot differentiate between a "from" and "to" address unless it's located perfectly in an envelope! I took the package back to my car, struck off the address and wrote it on the top left and took it to another post office. No issues. Clearly the guy in Chesterfield needs to stay away from customers and kept in the back room ... his personality will drive more business towards FedEx or UPS if he interacts with potential customers!! read more

Spacious location, very well organized and stocked with all your packing desires. The customer service here is nice and efficient. I appreciate the pick-up window; that allows me to skip the waiting line on my grab & go visits. There are a few outside drive-up drop boxes as well. read more

Terrible experience TODAY AT 12:30pm !!! almost every time I go to this office. The staff is very unhelpful and they all carry a chip on their shoulder and an attitude in their tone. This is why people choose to go to Amazon for all their necessities. At least I will going forward. I would rather pay UPS, Federal Express or Amazon more money than to deal with CHESTERFIELD USPS!!! I tried to reuse a small box to ship something to my daughter and the blonde lady chose to charge me for an upgraded package because I used the box I had received something from another business. Instead of guiding me and helping me figure out how to do it, her attitude was too bad so sad. It cost me $15 to ship an item which I paid $7 for! Ship of Fools is the first thing that comes to mind when I think back on the debacle that was my visit yesterday! For some reason, the hours for passport service differ from the business hours. They are there, drooling in the way that only true civil servants can drool until 6pm but for reasons which are not explained (I'm sure the explanation would be PURE bullshit) they stop doing passports at 4pm. Is that because the one dupe who does passports leaves at 4pm? Nope. Is that because they only have one person who can do passports? Nope. Is that because the law of the land prohibits them from processing passport applications after 4pm? Nope. Is that because they suckle the government teat and feel free to make arbitrary rules to inconvenience those of us who work for a living and support their excessive wages through our tax dollars? Generally, I'm dropping off mail. There are some things you still have to do by mail. But I had occasion to drop off three boxes from Big Sis. Return postage was already paid. I took a number -- THEN a postal employee told me I could just put them in the postal receptacle. I hauled these boxes to said receptacles. Two guys had the same situation. They caught on, and we had a party of getting everybody's said postage-paid packages into the receptacles. One of mine was kinda big. One of the guys smushed it in. It's lovely to get assistance from a stranger. And then we laughed. read more

Oh my....I swear, I am not in eastern Missouri, I am in the Ozarks, and Hillbilly Dan is walking down the street with a corn cob pipe. Conversation: "I need to mail back my garage door opener. Do you have Priority mail small boxes?" Employee number one: "We don't have any." Me: "How can I mail this then?" Employee: "With a box over there." Me: "Where? I don't see any boxes." Employee: "You gotta buy them." Me: "Okay, I found a box. Do you have tape? It's not out. You don't have nay on the rack." Employee: "It's over there." So, I grab a number, and I wait in line. My number is called, and I politely say, "I want to send this priority. When will you get small priority boxes, so I don't have to buy one?" Employee (different employee): "We may not, so you have to use this." Me; "Can I send it priority in this box?" Employee: "You want to use this box to send this priority? You can use an envelope." Me: "It needs to be in a box" At this very second, I cracked. "I'm in Southern Missouri, near the Ozarkland. I'm not near St. Louis. This place is full of hillbillies, and I expect to see a hay bale or two around here somewhere." Yes, said I, I cracked. She finally got the idea that I was crazy, and she charged me $9.60. I said, "Priority is only $5.15." She said, "The box is 2.68." I said, "I want to return it, you're ripping me off. I can drive home cheaper than mailing this." Employee, "You can't return the box. We don't take refunds." I think it was the double addresses that through her off, I had put my address, for home on the box, then I had put my son's name and my home address on the box. Finally got it mailed, and I insured it. I hope to hell it gets there. read more

Worst post office ever! Attendants rude, definitely not friendly!! They have masks on and plexiglass barriers AND a rope!! Seriously!!! And then I can't get my receipt emailed to me so I don't have to touch a receipt the attendant just touched???? Please read up on infection control measures and Miss Manners. read more

I came here the other day to ship a package. Unsure what I needed exactly, the nice customer service attendant looked up my options in his computer and told me which packaging and shipping options would be most reasonable. There was no line, ample parking, and I received great service. I was in and out within a few minutes. I don't see anything wrong w this post office and of course will return when I need to ship something again. read more

I live in California and was mailing a small package to another California address. Somehow, it got routed to Chesterfield, MO by way of St. Louis. Since it's undeliverable in Chesterfield, it keeps bouncing from Chesterfield to St Louis and back. I've spoken to Mornese (sp?) three different times about the problem. She was always so very kind and helpful. The third time I spoke with her, she actually called me back with additional information. Without her help and the help of Maria in the Oceanside, CA post office, my package would have been forever bouncing in a loop between two cities in Missouri and it would have never been seen again :) Kudos, ladies!! I was at this post office, last week, and I experienced and witnessed the worst customer service ever. While I was waiting in the line, Frank (behind the counter) told a customer that he was done talking to him while the customer was simply trying to explain his situation. If I heard correctly, the customer had to wait for an hour or more for a simple transaction. Frank seemed very impatient and told the customer to take the complaints to his manager. The manager was nearby trying to fix the broken automated postage machine. Not sure why she did not step in earlier when one of her employees were getting loud with the customer. When the customer stepped to the manager, she too acted like she had better things to do with her time. In the background, Frank yelled "next time, learn to read!". At this point, the customer left saying he will never shop there again and go to UPS or FEDEX store even if he has to pay more. If I acted like Frank in my industry, I would be fired by now. In general, this post offices' employees are slow even when there's few people in line. They tend to go to lunches and breaks during their busiest time. You'll be lucky if they greet or make eye contact with you. USPS is raising postage cost every year but their customer service is on the decline. read more

After a "he said she said" roundabout passport application rodeo I finally was able to apply. I was helped by Frank and he was very helpful and friendly! Was in and out in less than 20 minutes including being number 72 and when I arrived they were on number 49 AND it was a week before Christmas. read more

I've surprisingly had good experiences the handful I've times I've been here. I haven't encountered any long lines and people seem to move through pretty fast if there are people in front of you. The folks behind the counter have always been polite as well. My only complaint is that the parking lot can be a bit of a mess if people are driving through to get to the blue drop off mailboxes. I don't know if it's one way or not. I've accidentally turned into that far entrance that might only be an exit. read more
