When I called the lodge, she had to walk to the office to take my reservation (since the whole property is only run by 2-3 people and often she is somewhere else other than the office). The booking was not that hard over the phone but make sure you speak slowly and clearly when you give her any info invovling numbers :D The check-in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am but you can call ahead to check in or check out at an earlier or later time. Upon arrival, Eddie and her daughter greeted us warmly. We were told since the room we originally booked had some plumbing issues we got upgraded to a better room. Yay! The new room is bigger and has a fire place. Eddie took us on a mini tour to see the other lodges on the property as well since each one has a different theme and they are actually quite funky. The lodge we stayed at was small but had adequate space. The kitchen has everything you need except spices and seasonings. There are lodges that can accommodate pets so just ask. We hiked a bit (since the lodge is pretty close to Rocky Mountain National Park. We also went to Hot Sulfur Springs at night (check out my review here http://www.yelp.com/biz/hot-sulphur-springs-resort-and-spa-hot-sulphur-springs#hrid:olYd01SdW95whyRPgZKegg) I like the fact that the lodge is close to those two things. You can probably also ski and ride horses around the area too. Just a note, before you check out, you need to take out the trash and clean the room otherwise they will fine you $25.

The dishes are not locked up and are very accessible to little children, door didn't lock and kept blowing open throughout the night. Kids easily could run out or dogs! I had black hair in my sheets. The water pressure is a trickle making showering unenjoyable and dishes very hard to clean! YOU ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN YOUR DISHES AND ROOM before checkout, we got passive aggressive comments from SUE because I'm the WIFE and left six dishes in the sink! IT WAS MY JOB to clean them! I didn't know, there were no signs! NOW THE BIGGEST CON of all! Passive aggressive property manager! DO NOT STAY here!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY on a airbnb that deserves it! They didn't even ask us to leave but threatened to call the COPs if we didn't leave in 5 minutes in front of my toddler and infant child! I am still in SHOCK! I would like to laugh and JOKE I HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT OF NICER PLACES THEN THIS! Let me start by saying we are not criminals, we don't drink excessively and are a pretty nice clean family. After trying to coordinate a room change ALL DAY with SUE, she finally gave us 20min to switch rooms so I left the six dishes and didn't vacuum. I was honestly concerned about her turn around time! The kiddos had spilled some animal crackers on the floor but nothing a quick vacuum wouldn't fix! NOW she DID NOT TURN OVER a Room Properly! It takes more then twenty minutes to properly clean a kitchen, bedroom and bath with linens, I was a maid for years! INDUSTRY STANDARDS would say all linens need to be striped and changed. Surfaces disinfected esp. with COVID! Vacuum and mop! You would have thought we left shit In the toilet, vomit on the floor and a blown up burrito in the microwave! (ALL of WHICH I HAVE GRACIOUSLY CLEANED IN MY DAY!). So I DO THINK THE DISHES ARE NOT PROPERLY WASHED, THE BLANKETS DO NOT GET WASHED BETWEEN GUESTS AND NO MOPPING. I hope SUE gets out of the hospitality business! She thought my two year olds graham cracker floor mess was PERSONAL and it wasn't! We did leave a NORMAL mess, WE WERE ON VACATION! STAY ELSEWHERE! They kicked out our little sweet family, to fend for ourselves with 1-70 closed and the pass closed. REALLY!

All of that was included. The rooms were old, but nice. Bunk for the kids and queen bed for us. We stayed in one of the lodges. There was a common room with a fireplace and some games we utilized, too. We had a mini fridge and microwave. We used those for storing breakfast and lunch items and the microwave for popcorn at night. Was a nice stay! The cross country skiing trails were great, even with the limited snow that this year has brought. Great workout and loads of fun. We did that with our kids for a few hours each day (January stay).

The cabins are comfortable, and the kitchen come mostly furnished with what you need to prepare simple meals. WiFi available through the ranch. There are ample activities for all kids 2-92. Ours especially enjoyed the summer sledding hill. The zip line was also popular, as were horseback riding and mini golf. It is now late season and a number of activities were closed - canoes, the pool. However there was so much to do, we did not really miss these. There was so much we didn't get to but ran out of time -- craft room, roller-skating, hikes. There are restaurants available. The place is beautiful, can't wait to go back for fall leaf season or winter sports.

What an incredible property! Absolutely stunning in it's natural aspect and the facilities itself…read more I do not know much of the background, but talk about a grounds this place has. So much to offer for a retreat space, it's hard to put words to it. I was only able to experience it with just a weekend trip, so I was only able to partake in a handful of the offerings. Needless to say, I would be inclined to want to go back to this place in the near future no matter the reason as I believe any retreat/outing the takes place here in certainly enhanced by the many offerings it possesses: a large mess hall; multiple lodges/cabins; central, outdoor fire pit; auditorium that fits, what I can deduce, about 500; heated swimming pool with an adjacent hot tub, that is nearly as big as the pool; ropes course and zip line; disc golf course (though latter half needs some sprucing up); acres upon acres of space, with miles of trails; a creek that passes through, and small lake (or rather, pond for those from the Mid-West); gymnasium; and multi-puprosed building that contains a coffee shop on the top-floor, and a Café on the bottom with foosball, ping pong, and pool tables. Like I said, lots of things to do. Makes for a good time for just about any age, but in particular a Men's Retreat.

Beautiful getaway in the mountains…read more Crooked Creek Ranch is beautiful. I know, quite the introduction. But every time I've been here (this is my 4th or 5th time) I'm always impressed and eager to return. Let's start with the view....Oh my gosh. Your tucked neatly in the mountains and no matter if the mountains are snow capped or lush and green you really get this since of how wonderful nature can be. There's a lake for done swimming in the summer and the camp is littered with hiking trails if that's your thing. The camp also offers a gym, game room, and multiple areas to sit back and read with one of the most beautiful views in America. The thing that puts Crooked Creek over the top is the amazing staff. I've helped run a few church retreats up here and never once had any conflict with anyone working here. The rooms have a nice cozy cabin vibe which is perfect for the non camping "camper." The kitchen and common areas are always well kept and the food is exceptional for a retreat center. Overall, if your planning anything from a youth/young adults retreat, to a business retreat, or even a family reunion you'd be short changing yourself not to have Crooked Creek high on your list of destinations.

What really made this trip stand out was staying in a condo in Basecamp One. The ski-in/ski-out access was incredibly convenient and added such an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to the whole experience. Being able to step right out and onto the mountain (and back again) made everything feel that much more relaxed and enjoyable. The resort itself has such a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere, making it perfect for families, beginners, or anyone who just wants to enjoy skiing without the pressure of more intense terrain. The slopes are wide, well-groomed, and especially friendly for first-time or casual skiers--you can really take your time and enjoy yourself. The bistro was another highlight once again--the food is excellent and far better than what you might expect from a typical ski resort. It's the perfect place to warm up and recharge. The vibe across the mountain is always a good time. There's great music playing, and you can hear the sounds of wintertime fun all around--laughter, skis carving through snow, and that lively energy that makes a day on the mountain so special. If you're not a regular skier or just want to avoid risking bodily injury on more challenging runs, Granby Ranch is absolutely the place to go. It's fun, approachable, and consistently delivers a great experience. We'll definitely be back again.

I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it! If you are considering rafting in Colorado, go with Liquid Descent. I'm so glad we did!
