As a business traveller I have tremendous respect for what the TSA has to do and the people and…read moreattitudes they have to deal with so I consider myself exceptionally patient as they are just doing their jobs which few truly appreciate. However, they often are their own worse enemy. My family and I were traveling and my carry on took a hit for an item that ended up being a headset in my bag which is fine and even the fact it took a hit on the explosive test I was still fine but the problem is the complete absence of communication by all three TSA officers which were honestly just jerks to deal with. After they pulled my bag it took 12 min before anyone even acknowledged me about the issue as others walked by me without even acknowledging me. Finally they searched the bag again with hardly a grunt as acknowledgment then they were ready to clear it but the explosive detector had a false positive so they searched it again and proceeded to throw out items that they were prepared to ignore the first time had it not been for the false positive test. Again I have no issue with the search or throwing things out but their communication skills and attitude just flat out sucked. I hope the TSA provides interaction communications training in the future as this crew of 3 desperately needed refresher training.

Texas - DFW - Dallas/Fort Worth International Monday,…read more05/01/17 13:00 TSA Agent (didn't get his name): Dark hair, mustache, behind desk, seemingly in charge of shift. Checkpoint: E31 Usually don't have issues anywhere else I travel to/from, but for some reason at DFW I tend to get some silly shenanigans going on with my carry-on. I don't mind the occasional pat down, or even the rudeness. I realize they have a job to do and a sucky one at that. I can put up with that for a few minutes and not get butt-hurt over it. Fortunately I don't ever get belongings confiscated, just searched and tested, etc. However, this time was different. Visited my Mom & Dad in Dallas. Father aging badly. In his 80's and not doing well. Gave me a present to take home, nothing major, just an As-Seen-On-TV Air Dragon (little portable hand-carry device to air up small tires with, like lawnmowers, etc). Can't even power it on unless it's plugged into a cigarette lighter or wall plug. After explaining all this to the TSA officer behind the desk who tried turning it on himself, he still said it would need to be checked in at the front, mainly because it "looked like a power drill" was the only real explanation I received. I explained I had no luggage to check in, and that even doing so would cost more than the device was worth. So I had to leave my Dad's present behind for someone else to have a free Air Dragon. And that's what irritated me the most, is that it was a gift... and a harmless one at that. I had reviewed the TSA "What Can I Bring" website before going to the airport and didn't see any reason why it couldn't be admitted. No residual fuel, electronic but can't power it on; other non-powered tools are allowed, so I just couldn't see the reasoning behind it. Needless to say, I felt robbed by an entity that is designed to protect. But as long as we're protected from those dangerous Air Dragons we'll all be safe.

We arrived in Miami and upon unpacking the iPad (Pro) and a cylindrical battery charger are missing. She did not open the carry on inflight. It was iPad Pro in black case. Basically they took the iPad out and didnt tell her. We were able to find it and get it shipped back but the battery charger was stolen. Likely by TSA as no one else had possession. This group is poorly trained at best and downright ignorant on average and do not have my trust that they haven't let weapons or explosives by. Recently an undercover audit showed that 90+% of contraband was successfully boarded onto a commercial flight. Put air marshalls on all flights and disband the TSA.

She acted as if my children and I were an unnecessary disturbance in her day, all because I did not push my belongings into the machine in a timely enough fashion for her. Perhaps I could have done so more efficiently if there had been a table next to the xray machine for me to slide my things along. We had just stepped off a flight from London and as an American it pains me to say that based off of first impressions alone, American is not very welcoming or kind. Too bad officers like Townsend are what greet travelers to this otherwise great nation.

A few others came and hour later and it was still quiet. While the hearing was going on, I sat in the waiting area and talked to the individual providing security. He is actually part of Homeland Security, he's not a contract business. Found that interesting. He was a great guy, passed the hour and half pretty fast chatting with him since it wasn't busy. Place is clean. There was another older gentleman on the other side of the sliding glass window answering phones. That was sort of weird actually, he was a bit loud even even with the window closed. Building is nice. Not sure it's age, tho it doesn't look old. Been well kept. Exterior shares a cobblestone drive courtyard with a high rise hotel. It's really pretty out there with all of the trees. If you come here, it's because you have to, it's not a place to recommend as it's not an elective place to attend. Tho, if you do have to come, it's a pleasant experience.

Here's the kicker, at some point a certified birth certificate is not acceptable? Go figure.. She was told needed a doctor's statement with name & dob signed & stamped!! Kid you not! The response to shock was "I don't know this is you" This says welcome FRAUD. We all know there are bad actors in every profession. So you could create multiple versions of identities. Sent request to Doctor office, stated had to be stamped. Finally got the letter, no stamp (they don't have one) Went right back, 20-25 minutes later process completed. Birth Certificate works to get a passport (at least it did) Can you think of any reason it would not be accepted for replacement SS Card & since when? Oh! If you are trying to get SSD for anyone this after 400+ days. 1st thing I heard when I got a person is well you know Covid-19 backlog! Additional fact this is for Widow's benefits spouse passed 11/2024. recording says 200 days

I travel around 3 times a week in multiple countries and states…read more I thought 1st & 2nd time going through TSA pre line at this terminal was horrendous until yesterday, 5AM , the TSA agents are angry , make fun of passengers , change their positions going from one computer to the next They had some weird paper with names and tasks letting them know who is "miserable " enough to do the next bag check. They give you dirty looks for god knows what reason, just an awful experience , Here comes the best part, They pretty much ganged up on me and my carry on, like I said I travel multiple times a week, never an issue This time they pretty much emptied out my whole entire carry on, best part of this whole encounter is when they made fun of me right infront of my face knowing that my flight boarding any minute so I have to stand there and take it. Needless to say they took out of my carry on everything that they (2 female TSA agents) whatever they "kind of liked" and under their breath I heard "oh I could use that" "now that's expensive " I was absolutely baffled and confused as to how I just got robbed in broad daylight and couldn't even complain or say anything because my kids were waiting for me back home so I couldn't miss my flight. Just utter shock and disappointment in the humanity. I heard Macdonalds is hiring.

My luggage was a little bit too big for the belt (which in my opinion it wasn't even that big) so it had to be checked in a different lane. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes just for the bag to be "picked up" which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. Giving it two stars because the person who ended up checking my bag was super friendly unlike the rest of the staff. TSA will TSA.
