When I finally got through the doors, a nice young lady by the name of Courtney helped me with my drivers license to Texas from Florida. She explained they would not accept a Global Entry card as my second form of ID and I had left my passport at the office. They also would not accept my bank statement from PNC app so I had to get copies of those statements as well. I had two appointments one at eight and one at 8:20. The one at eight was for a Texas identification card. She told me you can't have both. Since the appt for my drivers license was at 8:20 I had 45 minutes to get there and back. Of course it was rush-hour traffic but I got back at 8:57, seven minutes past the 30 minute time mark. I walked in and a rude woman by the name of Robin, told me to step back in line as I explained I was working with Courtney, and I had the paperwork. She said Courtney's with a customer step back. Courtney waved me and said she'll be with me and asked me if I got everything I said yes. I waited outside inline for another 10 minutes making it 17 minutes past my 30 minute mark. When I got up to Robin again, not only was she rude but now obnoxious and told me to go to a different DPS because I missed my 30 minute window. I explained that I was here but because she made me wait in line it caused me to be even later, she said well I can't help you. She said get back on the app or go to another DPS. I called out to Courtney saying you know I have everything. Robin asked if I had a ticket for a delay, and I asked Courtney why didn't you give me one. She replied I gave you a 30 minute window, Robin is the one that gives the tickets. The really sad thing is that I made this appt 6 months prior in January. Very frustrated and irritated, I came back to my office and I started trying again to get an appt. Luckily I got the Carrollton office the next day! My daughter and I had a wonderful experience just the week before here. The ladies Jodi And Zakia at THE CARROLLTON DMV were amazing and kind. My advice is to avoid at all costs going to the Flower Mound location. If you can go to Carrollton, they are much kinder and they will help you in ways that Flower Mound will not. -5 stars for ROBIN.

2 hr wait to pickup plates. 2 employees at the counter. This is ridiculous for all the taxes we payread more

Unfortunately, the DPS is an entirely different experience. Both offices may provide the necessary documents for operating a vehicle in Texas, but the speed of service is worlds apart. The problem is not with the efficiency of the workers themselves; the problem is with the number of workers. DPS needs to open more offices or greatly increase the number of windows open at each office. There is simply too much demand for the supply. Yes, the employees operating the line inside and outside are bitchy. But who can blame them? They're out there day in and day out dealing with crowds of people who don't want to be there, who are inpatient, rude, and unmerciful toward the employees. Their employer offers them no hope of improvement - no light at the end of the tunnel where they'll hire 50 new workers to meet the demand, reduce the stress, and relieve them of their burden. This is their life. Every day. Dealing with this line, these people, this work environment. Of course they're bitchy! Outside of increasing the number of service windows, my suggested improvements would be to allow people to make appointments days or weeks in advance (California DMV does this), to increase the size of the waiting room so more people can be seated indoors, to install some sort of shade structure for those waiting outdoors in the heat or rain, to make more services available online or at AAA, and to remove the "no food inside" rule. There's a good number of kids that get dragged to the DMV, and it's unreasonable to remove snacks as a distraction while they wait for so long. In case it helps, I tried for days to make a same day appointment online and there were never any appointments available. I showed up on a Friday at 10am but the line was literally around the building so I drove home. Today I showed up at 7:30 and I was probably the fiftieth person in line. I got in the building a little after 8 and was out the door by 9am. I did discover that you can get a same day appointment if you go to their website at 7am ON THE DOT, but I decided to just show up and wait. All in all, an hour and a half isn't the worst wait I've had at a DMV before. This may be Texas, the land of deregulation and limited government, but it's still the DMV guys.

We went on a Friday morning got there around 7:25, someone came in line about 7:40 split the lines asks what we were there for. We just needed to do a License renewal, and they took about 20 people and we were seriously out before 8:25. So we were lucky I guess but the checkout person was nice, and super helpful.
