In my case this would only apply to the Nurse Practitioner, Misty Cottrell, not me. I had a multi year patient relationship where i would drive 35 miles each way up from Knoxville, keeping each appointment and dutifully adhering to every directive. THEN- one day when i recently suffered a heart attack, she was completely unimpressed. I was in the hospital for 10 days after receiving quadruple bypass open heart surgery. She could not see fit to express the minimal concern by even returning a phone call. When my care was turned over to her from the surgeon, she refused to fill prescriptions for the most nominal of painkillers and became surprisingly openly hostile, making me feel like some junkie in withdrawal just for asking for minimal relief. Watch out. You may feel you have a great relationship at first but that may all change once anything gets serious. She will be completely unreliable, assume zero responsibility for your care and have no compunction to become 'non-compliant' to her most loyal of patients and throw you out like garbage. Beware, also of an extremely incompetent office staff who she will be completely loyal to, not you.

Surgery was denied due to that report. Had a second MRI Friday preformed in house at TOC. What did they find? A full thickness TFCC tear. Not sure how y'all missed that one. Disability paperwork filled out) This man made everything so difficult for me that I would have panic attacks and not be able to open his secure message responses to questions I asked for days. Because the answer was always "no" or him doubting me or making this process of trying to get something complicated diagnosed even harder by making me argue for every single thing. Like filling out short term disability paperwork when I was going on FMLA leave. Everything was already hard and he made it harder. The most recent time, when I called to ask their office manager what to do when the doctor can't help, I got a certified letter from Dr French firing me. Dr French wants to do the basic work and then go home and not think about his job or his patients. I kind of think he wants to not think about his patients when they're in the room too. He can play like he listens and play a good doctor, but when it really matters, he'll let you down every single time.

Let me start by saying everyone here is very friendly…read more Now...I went in to establish a new doctor and to get a prescription refilled. I was told that because I do not have insurance, it would cost $250. Fine, no problem, I know it costs money, so I paid it and I paid upfront before ever seeing a doctor, or a PA as it turns out. I now have a bill for another $109. They did blood work, I figured it was to test my thyroid as that is the prescription I needed refilled. They never told me though what was being tested, or that it was being sent out. Blood work normally costs me $75 with no insurance in California, I received a bill from Quest for $1,131!!! At no time during my visit was I told there would be additional charges like this. If they had said, "we are sending your blood out for X, Y, and Z and a rough estimate of cost will be $X, I would have said no thank you, only test the thing I need right now. How can Maltman Medical get away with this! I wish I would have read the reviews on here before scheduling an appointment.
