Worst sandwich I ever had. Hot pastrami was cold and using shredded cheese was a big thumbs down for this. Never get a sandwich here.

This place is always very busy at lunchtime, which shows how popular they are. I happened to be…read moredriving by at dinnertime, so I decided to stop in. An absolutely fantastic meal Nothing fancy about the place, you order at one end of the counter, and pay and pick up your food at the other. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Everybody that I dealt with was very friendly, and the place was spotless. They have a good selection of pitas, salads, and other items on the menu, including vegetarian choices. They also do catering. I decided to go with the gyro pita, Lamb and beef, Romaine lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, tzatziki and secret sauce. It was so good. The meat was tender, and it had so much flavor, and it was a generous portion. That pita bread was a very good quality, and the veggies were crisp. I loved that tzatziki and the secret sauce, they provided a nice tang that kept it from being too rich. I also had an order of six of the falafel. When I got them, they were a bit dark, and I was worried that they were overdone. I couldn't have been more wrong, and I'm happy to admit it. They were absolutely delicious. They were tender, and they had just a tiny bit of "zip" to them. I love a good falafel, and these were right up there. They came with a tzatziki sauce, and with a spicy ketchup for dipping. The ketchup was a bit too spicy for me, but I loved that tzatziki. I only ate two of them, and he gave me a bit extra tzatziki to take home for the rest of them. They never made it home. They were so good, I was munching on them in the car, and before I knew it they were gone. Even without the sauce, they were great that extra sauce that he gave me, which was awesome, I'm sure I can find something at home to put it on. Lol. Two items off the menu, a soda, tax and tip, and the price was very reasonable for such good food. They also offer a military/veterans discount. I definitely wanna come back and try more items. Thank you!

Not rude, just not welcoming, seemed annoyed I asked for hummus on my chicken wrap... And a 1.50 up charge for a scoop, I don't believe I've ever been up charge for hummus on a Shawarma wrap Chicken was very bland And all the vegetables and tabouli salad tasted like the refrigerator Super bummed drove by many times, hoping it was gonna be a slam dunk But between the service and the food It's a pass

Will be reccomending Ippolitos Trattoria to everyone. We had the ceasar salad & their house salad with the blue cheese & it was wonderful. Then we had veal Piccatta, both of us & it was just perfect. Our waiter was friendly & competent & we will look forward to the next time in Sacramento to sample more on the menu.

I've been to Italy--including Sicily--more times than most people have left California, and my…read morepartner even holds an Italian birth certificate. With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

This is a luxury. $20/large sandwich. Life isn't cheap. Things like this is a treat. So I took my son out to lunch. I asked to change the turkey for ham on a club sandwich, which already has ham, and is the cheaper meat.... and was told I would have to build the sandwich from scratch for $2 more. I wasn't asking for more meat, I wasn't asking to ADD meat, I was asking to simply change the more expensive meat for the cheaper lunch meat. Cashier standoffish, definitely didn't care about customer service, just a flat No build it yourself. Ok. No ty. Again, already a $20 sandwich. No thank you. When the sandwiches were ready, after at least 5 peoplewho came in behind us, another girl called out my name, but incorrect, no big deal. I stated mine in question form and she looked at me, rolled her eyes, and handed it to the cashier who handed it to me. I dont know what it was today, but even my child said it. He said everyone working was just "hella rude" and made him uncomfortable to want to return. Honestly, me too. Sandwiches, amazing. Everytime. Service? I could pass on the attitude. No accommodation or explanation to customers for a request, only an uncharge? Again, I could pass on that. The last two beat out the first everyday. The owner used to be in so often, all the workers were so nice, it was like the Dutch Bros of sandwich shops Not worth it for the price.
