First of all i dont know why people say this is a modern awesome place?! This place is tiny as a corridor, they shower is small, the kitchen is literally a hot plate on the sink, like you can't wash your dishes and cook at the same time, which i normally require as i can't have 1000 plates lying around to cook a meal. The TV is payable, even though they advertise its not. The cleaning service is not at all good.
The staff is awesome and i love them, but the building is like a prison, you can't move without being tracked down, the washing machines dont work at all times, the contactless key locks are battery operated and if the battery runs out, well you are trouble because they dont have a manual key lock and they need to call a technician or an engineer as they call him, and it takes him 24hours to reach! Oh my the hassle with those damn keys and they won't break the doors down because they cost more than your comfort.
The internet is fast and good, IF it works, i have experienced at least an average of 1 day a month where it doesn't work. If you are a smoker, you are in trouble, they have allocated smoking zones on the rooftop. So if you fancy a smoke before bed... get ready to gear up like an eskimo to grab a few puffs in the rain, snow, wind or the sun (hard to find in london). If a replacement security guard is on duty, he will and i mean HE WILL lock the terrace doors and so you will have to exit the building in your PJs and smoke outside with people waiting for their bus, oh yeah there is bus stop right in front of the door. They say there is a balcony on the 7th floor, but you can't access with your key.
Oh and the area is not that safe as they portait it to be. I have seen weirdos and drunks walking in front of the building and heard a few mugging incidents. The main road, east road is kind of ok, but as you walk 30 yards behind the building, its looks like USSR (yup, haters, been there).
My overall experience here is 2/10. If your an american or used to large spaces, you dont wanna stay here. This place is smaller than your bathroom, and forget about freedom and fun being in college, you better move in with your parents than staying in this prison.
Now the good stuff about the place, hmmm... They have lights, window that opens 3 inches, they have heater which works according to the mood of the building admin, they have free bikes, they have an iMac with a PC mouse upstairs, they have common areas with lots of east asians in them till 3-4 am and they have... nothing more.
My advice, find a partner, get a shared apartment in some awesome place in london with 2 bedrooms. You might end up paying 100 pounds extra MAX! but the comfort you will get is priceless. read more
