I've been going to this salon for a year now and having Jules cut my hair. She's great and I am never disappointed!

Always very friendly and welcoming. Kennedy is delightful and does exactly what I want every time. Fun place to go.

I was really surprised that the Urban Nirvana hair salon had such bad ambiance when the Urban Nirvana Spa is so lovely. The front desk girl was not friendly or welcoming, it felt like she was annoyed by my presence. The service I received was fantastic and I love the easy parking. read more

Shannon is fantastic! I've been seeing her for about 2 years now for haircuts, root color, and various balayage/highlighting services. Shannon is understandably in high-demand, so I prebook my future three appointments with her. It's definitely worth it at Urban Nirvana to book a higher-level stylist. read more

Worst ever. Terrible. Money sucking jerks. Will never go back nor recommend. The prego firl Was so rude at the counter- I had maybe a Partial highlight... but got charged for full... DO NOT GO!!! read more

Friendly and efficient service- My hair is pretty stubborn and high maintenance, both the cut (short short) and color. Was looking for a long term situation and I found Kennedy at Fresh Fields Urban- she is amazing! I have hair anxiety but she talked me through a plan-I felt like she understood what I wanted, totally put me at ease, and delivered read more

I enjoyed my visit here. I got an updo for a wedding and loved it! Great staff and vibe. I would definitely use the salon again.

Have been here a few times now. Sophia does a great job with color and cut. So glad to find somewhere close by that knows how to cut and color hair. Tried a few places in Charleston and didn't have a great experience. Love their hair products too! read more

I love Urban Nirvana and have been going here for years when I stay in Kiawah. They use super high end Keratase products and are extremely professional and friendly. Super Covid safe as well. One of their stylists Jenny Is incredible with color! You don't need to drive to Charleston to get a high end highlight or hair cut! read more

Shannon Ferrari is simply put...the Best! The cut and color exceeded my expectations. Photo I posted is in low light. In daylight it's the perfect blonde with baby blonde highlights. I got stopped twice before I made it to my car asking me who did my hair. Ladies if you're searching for the best colorist, stylist...look no further. While I was waiting for the perfect "Shannon Ferrari" blonde to develop she fit in a cut for a gentleman. Shannon is very efficient and amazing. I have searched far and wide from Texas to NY to find someone that could achieve the perfect blonde. I resolved myself to believing it wasn't possible. Shannon listens to exactly what you want and with true artistry and a stroke of genius achieves the perfect to die for blonde you were dreaming of!!! Thank you Shannon!Xx read more

Urban Nirvana - Hair Salons Near Me - Johns Island, South Carolina

Stylist: Ashley I saw Ashley for a haircut. She was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job! I'm normally pretty picky. I get my hair done in DC at George's but I couldn't wait. She also did a nice treatment on my hair to hydrate it. I'd highly recommend Ashley! read more

Woman working the front desk was incredibly rude. We were late because we were staying at their other location down the street, and there was no one there to advise us as to where to go. We were charged for our appointments and didn't get serviced. Then woman at the front desk had Long dark braids. Would not recommend giving business to a woman who treats customers like this. Important to note that the salon was also completely empty upon our arrival. read more

I've been seeing Butler for nearly 3 years and am so pleased with my cut and her relaxed and friendly conversation. Highly recommend!

I went to one stylist and had a terrible experience but called the extremely responsive manager and she offered an appointment with a senior stylist,Shannon. Shannon worked wonders and fixed a very botched haircut. Really pleased w the cut and how the salon handled my initial complaint. Thank you! read more

Love my hair cut. Love the color. Love the staff and stylists. I am so happy to have them right at Fresh Fields and coming from NY I never thought I'd find a place I would be happy with. Welcome surprise for me right in my own backyard, so to speak. read more

The absolute best hair salon I have ever been to! Ashley was amazing, friendly and professional. She transformed my dull dry hair into a delightfully stylish and fun style and made me look years younger according to my daughters! I love the color and first time highlights for me! I just wish I could clone Ashley and take her back to Indiana with me! A wonderful hair salon experience..kudos to Ashkey read more

2 stars because I left the salon unhappy and I expressed this to the stylist and to the receptionist. Even when I said I wasn't happy and wanted to schedule another appointment to get my hair fixed they found an appointment next week with the same stylist or a few days later with a different one. A salon should never allow a customer to leave unhappy or not seem to care. I disliked my hair so much I cried all afternoon, I had just had a baby and was so looking forward to self care. My stylist was very nice and easy to talk to however. read more

My bridesmaids and I got our hair and makeup done the day of my wedding here. My trial was scheduled for for a couple of days before. I was SO impressed with their professionalism and courtesy to us. The week of my wedding I called and added a bunch of appointments for aforementioned hair and makeup-- no problem, we'll schedule you. The day of my hair and makeup trial, I called and rescheduled 2 or 3 times (weddings make you late for everything)--- no problem, we'll have to squeeze hair in at the end but no problem. And then, the day of the wedding we essentially took over the majority of the salon. I got to know my hairstylist and my makeup artist, two really great ladies who were on board to create my retro vision. We finished just on time and were out the door with farewells and good wishes. I highly recommend them for special events. I'll try and post a picture of my hair and makeup to illustrate. Thank you Urban Nirvana Hair Johns Island!! read more

Had my hair done here by Michelle the day of my cousin's wedding. They were totally booked except for an appointment only an hour before I needed to leave for the ceremony. Was worried I wouldn't get done in time, so went dressed with makeup done. Michelle did a fabulous job on my updo and had me out with time to spare -- even had a chance to do photos! Ran into lots of other women there attending the wedding as well and all were very happy with their hair. Staff is very nice and helpful. The updo held up nicely too, even with dancing, the weather and wind at the ocean, and a wardrobe change. Couldn't be happier! Thanks Michelle! read more

I came in to get my hair and makeup done for a wedding. I left looking worse than I did going in. The hair stylist didn't listen to me and barely did anything to my hair and charged me $40. The make up artist charged me another $40 and made me look like a drag queen. I had to immediately run to my hotel and redo my hair and makeup quickly before the wedding. Do not waste your money here! read more

While vacationing at The Sanctuary, my husband and young son stopped in to see if they could be accommodated for haircuts. Each received a basic hair cut, both satisfactory. Total for the two cuts was $98, not including tip. I was shocked to have been charged $49 for a young child's haircut. When I spoke with the front desk staff they stated that they had "no control" over the charges and called for the manager, who then stated that she had "no control" over the charges, she "could only do what she was told to do by the owners, and the salon had several locations, all owned by two women". I have no issue paying $49 for an adult male haircut (although this was higher than we recently paid in NYC), but I do take issue with being asked to pay this for a small child. I did not feel that we were treated fairly. As a business owner, I would not treat my customers this way, and I will avoid this salon on return trips to the area. read more
