So we were more than grateful when he decided to accept our son for one-on-one tutoring. Thomas was behind in his reading skills when he first came to Mr. Summers. He was reading slightly below his grade level. Now, thanks to his tutoring, my son is reading above his grade level. We were also very pleased that Mr. Summers was so understanding and generous with his time. He was always willing to help Thomas finish his assignments, even when Thomas needed a few extra minutes after his time with him ended. Mr. Summers has a unique capacity to understand kids very well. Our son responded so positively to his empathy. We were fortunate to run into Mr. Summers as a teacher and I would highly recommend him to any parent.

Mr. Summers welcomed her into the class right away. He somehow made Zoom school fun and engaging. He recognized that my child was writing above her grade level and called me and had a long conversation about the many ways he could challenge her academically. He is skilled at differentiating teaching to challenge and support students of all learning levels. He paid close attention to my child's social and emotional needs as well. He is very empathetic and kind and gentle with his students, and I would find myself listening in on the class, just because he was so sweet and funny and so very kind. If he was offering tutoring services here in San Francisco, both of my children would be enrolled. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him as a person and as a teacher.

We're from the suburbs, so the cramped space was a little getting used to. Education: This gets 5 stars!! The instructors worked magic. My son hated math, but after the summer, he had such a great head start and math came easy to him and loves math now. I was worried that they were rushing him, but they assessed him and kept on pushing him and made it fun for him to learn. He picked up new science and skills that we didn't expect. On Friday's they go on field trips. It is usually $10 more, but my son loved these field trips. Fun activities are on Fridays and do do art, science, and music throughout the day. Other than location, the only thing I don't like about this place is that the kids walk to the park during the day and in the summer time, it's super hot and this is probably why I won't put my 4 year old here this year. We'll just have my son come here in the summer. During the school year, I understand they have before/after school and they will drive the kids/pick up the kids. The staff is very friendly and fun and the are so flexible.

A central office sells you then you are turned over to the local franchise that is nothing compared to the company you thought you were getting into business with. No follow up. She is a bright child in many ways, but we could never seem to get any traction with our many attempts to help her read. We worked with numerous tutors, tried vision therapy and worked many hours with her at home. Eventually we realized that she may have an undiagnosed learning disorder. We are now in our fourth month of tutoring at the READ Learning Center and we are seeing results. The admin and staff are welcoming, supportive and quick to respond to all questions and concerns. We are feeling very grateful for the wonderful people at the READ Learning Center and the great work they are doing for our daughter and others.
