I've been looking for a new salon in the local area. One woman, I've been seeing for years has…read moreleft the biz. I don't do a lot with my hair, to be honest. Very much a "wash and wear" girl these days. That's always been the case but having turned 60, I've made a decision to stop coloring my roots too. It is what it is. The stark demarcation line as hair grows out is a bit difficult to live with. As such, I've had two grey blending treatments. It was time for the third, and to get rid of some of the brassiness my hair holds. All About You did a fantastic job. I love that the ladies run things by each other and are open to listening - two or three experienced heads are better than one. The brassiness is gone. The straight line dividing new growth from old, is gone. My hair is soft and shiny. I will come back. Someone else mentioned the price being high. Maybe. Having been to inexpensive hair salons though, I can tell you from personal experience that paying to get those cuts/colors fixed is not cheap either.

Second, and most importantly, Amy did a phenomenal job on my hair!! I decided to stop coloring, several months ago. I've had the demarcation line with grey/silver 1/3 of the way down my hair and the rest a mix of ashy blonde, yellow, and darker brown. There was a lot going on. I was clear with Amy that I do NOT want to get back into a routine of having to color. As an avid scuba diver and outdoorswoman, I am definitely a wash and wear kind of girl. I am NOT going to take any time, so it's got to be easy for me. She knocked it out of the park. Put in I don't even know how many different toners - actually treated every section of my hair that had something different going on, individually. No more line. No more burnt out yellow - just a beautiful blend of my natural silver/salt & pepper, toned. It will take me a day or two to get used to the change but it's time to embrace the "sexy, older woman" vibe. I can say, within 15 minutes of leaving the salon, I had one stranger, and 4 friends give me amazing compliments. They all love it. I know I will too. Thank you so very much, Amy, for making me feel pretty.

As a long-time sufferer of PCOS, I've had to get electrolysis on my face for about a year now…read more Unfortunately, none of the electrologists listed in the Auburn/Lewiston area seem to answer their phones -- I'm not even sure if they are even still practicing. I tried calling around the Portland area as well, but I also could not reach anyone and none of the websites ever responded to my email inquiries. Finally, I found Cassiels Day Spa, and lo and behold, the receptionist answered the phone on the second ring, and I was able to get an appointment this week (they offer permanent hair removal services on Mondays and Tuesdays). Cassiels is a unique-looking spa that was converted from a typical Maine house. It's beautiful and clean inside with a variety of interesting makeup and skincare products. The electrologist, Ashley, is young but excellent at her job. I received 30 minutes of electrolysis for only $35 (It's $25 for 15 minutes, $35 for 30 minutes, and $45 for 45 minutes). The spa was such an inviting environment that I booked a haircut the same day (for only $18). Great place overall -- I will definitely be a repeat customer!
