I have been seeing Dr. Patel for about a year and a half now and frankly, she is amazing. Not sure…read moreabout the experiences others have had whom have written bad reviews, but I have NEVER had a bad experience. I have a herniated disc in my neck which often flares up and causes me severe pain in my arms. After seeing countless doctors (most of whom told me to just "take advil") Dr. Patel was the ONLY doctor who actually provided me with REAL treatment that decreased my pain and improved my quality of life. She sat with me and took her time explaining my options. During my epidural procedure she talked to me the entire time and told me exactly what she was doing. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about my well being. I am so fortunate to have found her and my spine also thanks her.

I had one of the worst experiences with Dr. Patel. She was recommended by my primary doctor, whom I…read morehave since asked not to recommend her again. I felt dismissed and completely uncared for. I waited nearly two months for an MRI while Dr. Patel's office repeatedly told me that my insurance company had denied it. When I contacted my insurance company, I was told there were problems with the paperwork submitted by the doctor's office. After several weeks of back-and-forth, I decided to see another doctor and got the MRI the very next day. I also left several messages asking Dr. Patel to call me and sent her a direct email, but I never received a response. I wish I had read the reviews before making the appointment because they closely reflect my experience. DO NOT USE HER!!! You will regret it!

My…read moreGP and other doctors just told me to wait to work out but I knew something else must be wrong. Dr. Mann was the only one to take me seriously and even stayed a bit extra with the nerve test/EMG tech (very helpful!!) to run an extensive study that finally pointed to what my issue was. I am feeling like I am finally getting answers and clear next steps

I've been going to their Lexington Ave. location for close to 3 months already…read more While Dr. Iannicello is pretty good, his staff isn't and patients end up paying for this while we're in PAIN. Their insurance/billing department isn't the best. Some procedures require approval from your insurance which is understandable. The problem is that they'll tell you they'll call you once insurance approves so we can proceed and they never call you back. You would give them enough time to then call them and either things have already been approved or, they have not started the process. The receptionist lady is passive aggressive when asked certain questions regarding this. I get it, she's probably tired of this but also, it's not the patient's fault either. We're here in PAIN and it seems like they let work sit and wait for the patient to call so they could move on it. Everywhere else I go, they'll contact my insurance for approval and turnaround is usually about 2 days max but here, about a week, two weeks and ever longer. At one of my visits the lady receptionist didn't check me in till 45 minutes after my arrival and good thing the doctor noticed and was on it. Yesterday morning I called them because again, waiting for insurance to approve pain injections. The receptionist was passive aggressive and sighing as if this was my fault and said she'll speak to the doctor about it and hung up on me after. I had told her I would like to get this done by this week since I will have another insurance and that probably won't kick in till a couple of weeks or who knows how long and here I am IN PAIN because the meds given to me or PT hasn't been making any improvements with my issue. I also remember several times patients calling them saying they never received a callback from them regarding anything the office had to reach out to them. Receptionist would claim they did call but it's interesting the pattern of several people saying the same thing which makes me believe the patients and plus, here I am finding myself being on top of them as if I work there. I have not received any calls from the office and at this point I don't even feel like calling them and dealing with the receptionist while am in PAIN so decided to write this review so others could be aware of things that may happen when visiting this place. UPDATE: 2 days after leaving my review. I have not received a call from anyone at this office. I decided to call my insurance and they told me they just received the request from them today and they approved it right away for me to get my injection shots for my PAIN. I called their office and told them I have not heard back from them and the receptionist placed me on hold and came back asking me what time tomorrow I would like to go it. My theory was right all along about this place. The leave the patient's information just laying on their desk and do nothing about it unless you call in and they'll blame insurance or anyone else to cover up their actions. Thankfully because I was on top of them, I'll be able to get my shots before my current insurance ends. To say the least, this shows lack of consideration and is also HORRIBLE on their part given the circumstances patient's are enduring and the trust they give them.

So back in 2007 I had a heart attack due to cancer and flipped my car so badly that I walked away…read morewith 8 compression fractured. There's no reason I should be alive considering the condition of the car. But I am. For three years I was basically bed ridden;cancer pain was one thing, but not walking because my spine hurt to move even slightly was even more horrific. I had no quality of life and am not ashamed to say I didn't want to live in that way. I tried many doctors who wouldn't help because of my having had cancer and my immune system being in slow recovery. I remember a long shot visit to this manhattan office that my mother had to drive me to because I couldn't drive when I could barely walk. I sat across from Dr. Kuo crying (literal tears) saying it hurts and no one wants to help and I don't want to live if this is how life will be here on out. I remember the most amazing thing a person has ever done for me, a doctor yes, but he got up from his desk and walked around and put his hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm gonna help you today", and it was the most human bit of compassion that has changed my life ever since. Jonathann Kuo, MD., is an extraordinary man. Before cancer I've been fortunate to meet pretty extraordinary people, pretty much the entire White House admin under Clinton, movie stars and the like.... so I know extraordinary people when I meet them. Dr. Kuo has set up a pain management facility that is absolutely unrivaled and his expansion into two other clinics (3 total to date) at his young age literally makes him a phenom, a brilliant genius. He's changing the way traditional and interventional pain management has been done for years. It's not just him though; his ability to find the doctors and ancillary staff that equal him in compassion and skill, make him a great CEO. I drive over 45 miles to see him and Dr. Rances. I've been honest with them about my issues with opioids, and NEVER have I felt the ire of judgement from anyone, it was always more of a "well let's see what we can do to help you, and not create a situation where you are opioid depended again". It is always just honest and medical and compassionate. I went to another guy because I moved over 75 miles even further, and not only did this other anesthesiologist/pain doctor know of Hudson Medical, but I could hear by his questions about the practice that he was not only well aware of hudson medical, but envious about how Kuo has been able to accomplish as much as he has, I could actually feel envy coming from him. I had to leave this other guys practice because his main draw for clients was endless opioid prescriptions, and that's not what I needed. I needed that hand on my shoulder when no one else would help, and say that throughout everything, they'll be there for me so I never had to feel like life was not worth living because of spinal pain. That's what I needed. So then I started driving 110 miles and over the GWB paid $60 for parking, for two years. Because when you find platinum standard, that's what you do. I've gone into the office and heard naysayers, and I'm sure there are some because I see 3.5 stars., and I've heard people complain about wait times??!?!?! Well, outside of Hudson Medical, you have to book an office visit first, then a second appointment at a medical center and get dressed in a gown and it feels like you're about to have major surgery, and post-op is also about 45 minutes. That's what other interventional pain management offices do, that's how they run, and even though Hudson Medical May feel like a "mill", it's ability to see you same day, have a consult, and a procedure, in a safe, sterile, and compassionate environment is just unheard of. At least anywhere here in NY. Believe me I've looked. And it's not a "mill", it's actually just brilliantly executed efficient quick medical pain management service. So, since My becoming a patient at Hudson medical, life and my quality of life became important to me again and have had an extraordinary life. Dr. Kuo and Dr. Rances, are my favorite celebrities, at least to me they are celebrities, because every day I live without pain is a day I celebrate that i can rejoice in a life of quality again. And if you happen to make friends with Twinnie at the front desk, or any of the front desk staff, they'll keep you laughing with jokes all day even through this pandemic. I highly recommend the Hudson Medical associates practice. I also know that if you're just honest about your issues, you'll get the right help, and life can be worth it again. And be a patient, patient, cuz no where else are you gonna get faster and better service.
